In the year 2029, SKYNET and its Terminators find themselves on the brink of defeat at the hands of resistance leader John Connor. Half a world away in the wreckage of what was the Russian republics, human resistance fighters wage war against SKYNET's computer network counterpart MIR. However, a new breed of Terminator has been created, this time copied from actual people along with their memories and personality...and nearly impossible to detect. These Terminators are on a mission to capture the last remaining rogue Russian submarine and its intact nuclear payload, preventing mankind from using the arsenal in a deathblow against the machines. SKYNET has its own plans on using the missiles to turn the tide of war once again in its favor. It's the ultimate race for survival... where anyone could be a Terminator.

These came from the Rewired anthology. It was a small collection of stories. There were four more parts to Death Valley that never got put in with this prologue.

I always wondered what would Skynet do if it won, and destroyed all of humanity, would it just keep building bots, and patrol the earth forever? or start a race of intelligent robots, that maybe could change form somehow, like convert into other machines, a "Convert-a-tron" if you wil??

There's the possibility that the Machines would terraform the planet. Afterward, they'd expand outward into space to bring their supremacy to ALL organic life. A war of self-preservaton becoming a campaign of efficient genocide.

2029 is very close. I'd like to see the timelines changed to reflect that. Or go back into the past and condense it so things are all over by 2020.
