Great run overall! Congrats on WR Raikou! :) One area where I noticed you might be able to improve a bit is your menuing in the item shop. You can definitely save a few seconds in the run there. I know with all the other RNG elements that it's probably the least of your worries, but for great runs like this, it'll give you a better chance to set a new PB!
I do not know if you will see this Raikou, however I can only imagine that speedrunning this game has given you an intricate understanding of how this game works. Would you be able to explain to me why my Tyrannomon slept once, only to awaken and immediately digivolve . . . into an Airdramon? I have tried to recreate this phenomenon many times as a child, but nothing of the like ever happened again. I was not using any cheat devices and playing on an original NTSC region Playstation. That Airdramon never evolved into an Ultimate (or a fabled Mega) and it died of old age. I would love an explanation for the double-Champion evolution if you have one! In case you are wondering, my Tyrannomon was no different than the average one. I cannot recall the Rookie digimon that it was before evolving (this was over 10 years ago), however it was trained adequately in the gym, and not fed any Stat chips. Always used the bathroom (0% Virus metre) and fought a handful of battles. It became tired in the Tropical Jungle (Vending Machine screen) and I allowed it to sleep. I am not sure if the location is relevant, but I can assure you everything above is true. I'd love to hear back. Is this more common than I believe? Great run by the way. Edit: If it's also worth mentioning, my Trainer level was high enough to Raise Ultimates.
Certain champions (Seadramon and Birdramon) can evolve to Airdramon if they sleep with full happiness, discipline and 0 tiredness. Are you sure it was a Tyrannomon?
Geta92 Sorry, just seeing this comment now; it was definitely a Tyrannomon. It was an extremely confusing event, as you can imagine xP. I was not aware that could happen with Seadramon & Birdramon; makes more sense in their case! Digimon World is full of oddities. I heard rumors in school about being able to get Mons like Tsukaimon and Modoki Betamon by natural means too; I think that's likely BS though 😋
I promise i will do a commentated run!, i want a decent run to do so with, currently i'm rerouting the beginning of my 100pp route for faster/more manipulations, once i pull a good run with that (roughly aiming for sub 2:44 atleast) ill do the commentary :)
10% chance its even possible to hit them normally, which is determined via RNG, I manipulate RNG to make the slots the same pattern every run and make the 10% chance possible 8 times in a row, then its a matter of practicing those 8 consistent slot patterns to get a run started

The RNG in this game is mostly deterministic: if you always use the same console/bios (PS2/SCPH7003 in his case), same version of the game (NTSC in his case) and perform the same actions (as long as you know which actions advance the RNG), you get the same RNG values. The first 40 minutes are essentially RNG manipulation.
In this game, the seed is fixed based on your console/bios and game version. Whenever you reset the console, the seed is reset to that same value. Thus, that's why repeating the same actions yields the same RNG values. Also, the calls to the RNG function happen on actions that are somewhat easy to control: when you enter/leave some screens, when you praise/scold your digimon, when you feed your digimon an item, when your digimon performs a catch up, during certain actions in battle and so on. There are only a few screens in the game that screw this up (fishing spots and Freezeland, due to fish and snow performing many calls to the RNG function). I may have missed some info, but it's pretty much that.
Arief Zaharuddin mamemon and piximon have a 3% chance of spawning on the screens I fight them, you need to exit and re-enter the area multiple times til they show up, also you are missing one more prosperity point other than them since you'll have 99 after them, look at any rookie you may have missed or any of the poop digimon like Sukamon or Numemon

I've 100p'd the game before and I just couldn't tell if it was some way to maybe streamline your Bakemon's death (maybe money/DV Chip limits) or if there was some weird speed requirement later. he's not suppose to be able to, but due to an oversight on the trigger that blocks the entrance, you can position yourself like i have and get in-between the trigger and the wall to enter with any Digimon, its easy to pull off once you know where to position yourself but its precise and won't work just anywhere, one really good benifit to this is there is a good chance that the two Hyogamon at the last room will run due to Bakemons type, which saves some time :)

Aparentemente tem um ponto bem específico do mapa que dá pra passar pela entrada do santuário independente do tipo do Digimon, tanto que você vê que ele não entra de qualquer jeito, ele vai pelo canto, volta um pouco e passa. Duvido que esse "ponto cego" seja intencional, mas ele existe e eh bem útil pra explorar isso numa speedrun. Sobre não virar o Numemon, até onde eu sei, um Digimon Champion não pode virar Numemon, só Rookies, então não importa o quanto o Bakemon cagou no chão, só o Agumon, e mesmo assim, ele forçou uma evolução por morte, por isso virou o Bakemon pra começo de conversa, não tem como virar Numemon com uma evolução por morte. Sobre comer e pedir pra ir no banheiro pouco, eu imagino que ele vá pouco no banheiro pq come pouco (nem come na verdade), eu acho que mesmo no jogo tem uma relação entre uma coisa e outra. Sobre pedir comida, eu não sei o que causa isso, mas por experiencia própria, alguns dos meus Digimons as vezes passam um dia inteiro sem pedir comida, mesmo quando eu trato eles direito, imagino que ele esteja manipulando o RNG de algum jeito pra causar isso, ou simplesmente deixar de alimentar faz com que o Digimon peça comida menos vezes, não tenho certeza. Sobre ficar exausto e não pedir a remédio, eu ACHO que cansaço não causa doença. Algumas comidas, como o Digiseabass podem causar doença e ficar em um lugar que o Digimon não gosta (como um Meramon em Freezeland, por exemplo) por muito tempo pode causar doença também. Não tenho certeza se deixar de dar comida e deixar o Digimon exausto também podem causar, mas acho que não. Sobre o Bakemon durar tanto tempo, eh possível, você vê que ele só recruta o Vegiemon já com o Numemon, e ele faz isso no mesmo dia que pega a Rain Plant, ou seja, tinha que ser dia 15. Eh possível fazer um Digimon Champion viver até 15 anos. O Bakemon parece morrer um ou dois dias antes do dia 15. Ele não evoluiu pq provavelmente não tinha os requisitos pra evoluir pra Giromon ou SkullGreymon, poderia evoluir pra Vademon com 15 anos, mas acho que morreu antes disso mesmo.

There's a glitch a bit like in the ogre fortress (where they didn't fight the 3 agumons to get to ogremon for the 2nd fight) where the player somehow shifts collision boxes or something. In the ogre fortress you see them running into the fridge. I think the ice santuary is like that
