I am 66 now, and in my younger days I would do a TON of hiking throughout the west. (I’m from GA) Now that I own and fly the mini 4 I will most certainly head west to film those areas I’ve hiked that I can no longer reach. (Hip replacement & 2 knee replacements) you are VERY fortunate to live in the area you do! And, that was a totally awesome flight! Tracking the boat was very cool. You have a new sub’r, and I love your vids. Thanks for all the tips.

Some traditions are worth keeping! Hey Matty. Testing AT yesterday- Pro Tip - Don't use "fast camera motion" around obstacles- not if you have a week heart, anyway. M4P flew like a champ, but I nearly had a stroke how aggressively it flew around some trees I was hiking past, lol! Hope they port it to Air 3 at least, if not Mavic 3 Pro. Not sure I want the big Flagship flying like that!

Another amazing video!! As a new subscriber I'm making my way through all your content!! A recent buyer of the mini 4k, this mini 4 pro has me intrigued!! I may upgrade sooner rather than later! You have some beautiful scenery in Idaho! I'm in Massachusetts, 30 miles west of Boston and on Cape Cod 5 months out of the year.. lots of ocean scenery but these canyon and giant reservoir shots you get are truly spectacular!! How nice of mother nature to flow water over a path of soft minerals to be carried away for many thousands of yaers, leaving a giant chasm to which a man named Marcus (luckily for us) would eventually take up the drone hobby and take aireal footage of this treasure (whch is conveniently located in his State of Idaho) and share its breathtaking beauty with the rest of the world on the new DJI Mini 4 Pro! It's refreshing to see how elated, for us, Marcus to witness the drone finds the landing pad every time he lands one:) Damn, I feel the same way actually and even pat my drone saying "Good job! (Name of drone). That's I think is a product of anxiety and joy when flying a drone - every time. We still have not fully embraced the reliability of these drones. Just my 2 cents.

It is a good weekend for flying. Managed to do a drone flight at Rose Lake near Couer d Alene today before heading to Lookout Pass and Wallace before heading back. Yeah I live in Spokane Valley now. Used to love in Snohomish until May and moved to Spokane Valley in late June, so I live alot closer to the Idaho Border than I used to. Probably won't be visiting the Boise area anytime soon (would be a lengthy trip there), however the Post Falls and Couer d Alene areas are relatively close by, and I have already found a few good spots to fly at there. Yeah probably won't be upgrading tonthe Mini 4 pro or Air 3 at this time, but I can reconsider those ones at a later time (maybe a year or so from now). Will probably shop for ones with remote id already built in whenever I buy another one.
I've found that there are almost always a lot of great places to fly, no matter what town! Have fun!
Marcus, nice demonstration! Do you think they will have a set of FPV goggles out for this little drone? With its omnidirectional obstacle avoidance, that would make for a neat multipurpose drone. I hope they do! Tom

I bought the Mini 3 fly more kit a little while back, but got the Mini 4 pro this week, and I couldn’t find a good way of getting the Mini 4 and RC2 controller into the Mini 3 kit bag without really squashing it in, so gave up and have a second Symik case arriving today for it.
Yep, i can confirm that the m4pro bag is slightly bigger than the one of the 3pro

Go! Lol. Got mine yesterday. Loving the little guy- much to explore, Active Track 360 primarily. Its quite amazing. Also this is the first Mini with Precision Landing - confirmed working! Mini 3 Pro was proof of concept. This is all that plus some real refinement!
No 10 m/s descending like Air 3 though!

When I first purchased my mini 3 pro I just bought the drone with the N-1 controller that came with the original battery that keeps the drone under 250 grams. When flying it in windy conditions I noticed it was having some trouble when flying forward it would drift off to the left side causing me to constantly keep adjusting the yaw so I ordered the fly more kit that I had found with the extended battery plus. When I got the fly more kit I switched the batteries and tested it again and it held the wind much better. Even though it makes the drone over 250 grams it doesn’t matter because I register all my drones anyway. Regardless of weight. After the mini 3 was released I purchased it and it did the exact same thing as the mini 3 pro drifting off in the wind but I started using the heavier batteries with it also. And after that no problems. I actually did a range test and my mini 3 made it further out than the mini 3 pro surprisingly. I ordered the mini 4 pro so I am waiting for delivery. But I figure I will use the heavier batteries with it also. But after some testing I will see. I love the O4 with the Air 3 absolutely amazing strength. I have so much interference where I live and the extra signal strength makes a huge difference.
Yes, I'm not worried about being under 250g. I register anyway.
Hey Marcus..have you had any issues downloading files from the RC2? I cannot seem to get anything off the Micro SD card…any problem encountered?
It saves the files to internal memory. You can either download them direct from the internal memory or transfer them to the SD card. 👍

Hey Marcus! I think the canyon looks even better with the soft light from the cloud cover. I've definitely got to visit the canyon some day to fly my drone. With the exception of the camera, it seems to have all the functions of the Mavic 3 Pro.
I looked at the M4P online. The Plus option is 60 dollars more, but DJI's site doesn't say why. Does that option come with the extended range batteries?

Amazing how low it went and the trace ws good before it stopped. Amazing how it orbited the boat and it was so cool.
Word of caution I read Oa does work really well at high speeds as it needs time to react so be a bit careful.
I think normal mode might exceed it ability to avoid as you saw in the low flying canyon rim.
It is a wonderful drone though so I am very pleased with it.

Please excuse if these are stupid questions but I have a couple being that I am new to drones. I just ordered the Mini 4 Pro combo.
1. Since it is under 250g do you still have to register it?
2. Is there an app that tells you where the no fly zones are, etc? I know about UAV Forecast but thats more for weather, correct?
Appreciate any help as I want to get some footage when I go up the mountains camping.
You do not need to register the drone under 250g, but you do need to take the FAA's Trust Test. Download the B4UFly to check for places to fly that do not require authorization. Have fun with your new drone!

After airborne until you landed how was the body temperature like compared to m3 and m3 pro.?
My m3 issue is when you are airborne and become hot the controller goes off and the aircraft return back home.

I really notice a difference in screen response between the RC pro and my RC controller and hopefully there has been some improvement in the RC 2. Hanging on to my mighty mini 3 pro for now.
Thank you John! The RC2 is a great improvement over the original DJI RC. Other than OS4 and extra antennas, it has a much more responsive touch screen. It has much less lag.
? I want to get a drone, which would be best for a new flyer. I have these options. Mavic 2 air or Mini 4 pro, which should i choose?
The Mavic Air 2 is a much older drone, but still performs well. If you can find a nice used one it's a good purchase. I really like my Mini 4 Pro. 👍

Did you have to use remote ID, my dji fpv drone will only take off if I connect my phone or remote ID with the new software update wont let me take off? Is these a way to get the original software back so the remote ID does'nt need to be used on take off?
Your DJI FPV drone is a standard remote ID drone, and yes, it is required. You also must register it as a standard remote ID drone on the FAA Drone Zone.
Yeh, Im fully legal. I give up on trying to get my original software so I dont have to use remote ID. Thanks for the help. @@IdahoQuadcopter
