  • Learn how to change default VPN host address in CISCO AnyConnect. Its very simply editing an XML file and saving it, but there is a twist in the plot. You have to be an administrator to make the changes to the XML profile file.
The user profile is in the following directory shown below.
    C:\ProgramData\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client\Profile
You will need to edit the "defaultClientProfile.xml" file.

There are limited resources about this so once I knew how to do it, I figure I share it with by TH-cam subscribers as well.

Hi, Im trying to migrate my work laptop's AnyConnect to my personal computer. Tried copying the AnyConnectProfile.xsd file (and some folder that says "MgmtTun") instead as this is the only file that shows on the "Profile" folder of the work laptop that has the Cisco AnyConnect installed. However, this does not do anything at all even after restarting Cisco and the PC itself. Would greatly appreciate your help.

Great video!! Helped me a lot.
Do you know how I can configure a default proxy for Cisco to apply to the system after connecting to the VPN?

Here are the steps to configure a default proxy for Cisco AnyConnect VPN.
These steps were tested on version 4.10.06079 of the Cisco AnyConnect.
      A) Launch the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client on your computer.
      B) Click on the gear icon (Settings) in the lower-left corner of the window.
      C) In the Preferences tab, click on the "Proxy" section on the left-hand side of the windows.
      D) Check the box that says "Enable Proxy" to enable the proxy settings.
      E) Choose the appropriate proxy type from the drop-down menu (e.g., HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS).
      F) Enter the proxy server address and port number in the respective fields. You may obtain this information from your network administrator or service provider.
      G) If your proxy server requires authentication, select the "Proxy Authentication" checkbox and enter the username and password.
      H) Click "OK" to save the proxy settings.
      I hope that helps.
