  • I’m still trying to get into the whole „one-Bag Travel“ Philosophy, and it is harder than I thought. But this bag might actually help me to get everything for a short trip into one bag.

    HOW I REVIEW:
    As you might know from my „How I make a buying decision“ video: Rather than just looking at the pros, I like to evaluate the cons or flaws of an item and then evaluate if I can live with them. That is why in my video reviews I concentrate more on the cons of an item rather than going over all the features. Therefore everything shown is just a fraction of all the points that go into the verdict and score of an item.

    A Quicklook usually covers pre-production units or items that I only used for a short period of time. While Reviews cover final items that I have reviewed intensively.

      Hey you guys! I've repeatedly watched both of your videos for this Aer Travel Pack as well as Joe's video for the Incase EO Travel Pack-- really great work. Any advice on which of these two packs might be better for everyday use? I do a lot of overnight and weekend trips for work as well, but usually within Germany. Do both fit under an airplane seat? Usually my everyday carry includes a laptop, charger, some German language books, and a GridIt gadget organizer. I'm thinking the lack of water bottle and shoe pocket on the Incase might be a deal-breaker (not to mention how low it carries on the back because of the shoulder strap connection location)? I've been torn on this decision for weeks and could use some serious help!

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Andrew Yip thanks, Andrew. For me personally the aer would be to big as a Daypack that I would use for work for instance. Further I'm quite sure that the aer won't fit underneath an airplane seat unfortunately.

    • @joeallam
      @joeallam 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Incase bag would fit under an aeroplane seat, however if it was packed fully with clothes and tech gear, it may be quite a squeeze. I've not personally done it yet, but I'm comparing to my camera bag which is larger and has fit before. The lack of a bottle holder definitely is quite frustrating. Also, you can actually wear it quite high on the back as the sternum straps are vertically adjustable if you need to move them. I know neither Bo or I have used each others bags though, so you might still be torn 😂

    • @andrewyip2967
      @andrewyip2967 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joe Allam , Bo Ismono -- thanks for the replies! Still a bit torn, but luckily I'm not in a huge rush to buy a one-bag travel bag yet (and I have a Small BaseCamp Duffel from The North Face to hold me over). I was browsing kickstarter and ran across this one that seemed interesting-- hoping either of you might get one for review soon: www.kickstarter.com/projects/574115111/the-leather-duffle-backpack-6-in-1-set-zip-pack-go?ref=discovery
      anyway, keep up the great videos!

    Hey Bo.
    I still think this bag good for short travel. I’ve been using it for almost 3 years and it haven’t disappointed me yet. Except it is not really waterproof.
    I only wish that they make a smaller version of this bag especially for everyday purposes or office purposes. While keeping all those useful pockets and accessibility. I kinda dislike the pocket in front of bag and hope it can be redesigned to be more hidden.
    Overall this bag is still awesome.

    the loops you're talking about i think are for carabiners or other general hooking, not to help you open a zipper, although that is a plus. nice review though!

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jefferson Du you are totally right. I realized that after the review. But I still find them to be visually unappealing. The front looks so sleek, but somehow those loops look misplaced. But that is just a personal thing of course

    Thanks for this review. I ordered the travel pack, dopp bag, and two packing cubes a week ago for a trip that got cancelled the next day -- so even though I got next day delivery (I'm about 20 minutes in good traffic from their distribution point outside San Francisco), I haven't been able to try it out yet. Next trip is a two day jaunt to San Diego, California in a couple of weeks... so we'll see how it does for a short trip and modest techie gear (only one laptop this trip!)

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Robert,
      That's great. I use my bag quite a lot for short trips or when I just need to carry more than the ordinary. Let me know how you like it. Especially I would love to know how the dopp kit and the packing cubes work out for you. I don't have them unfortunately.

  • @woolengrappler
    @woolengrappler 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Cool bag, but I feel shoe compartments are silly. I prefer to keep shoes in a separate packing cube anyway. I never carry a laptop either so a dedicated laptop sleeve imo isn’t useful, I just use an iPhone and iPad on trips, but I’m using my iPad only on flights so I’m considering just bringing a phone.

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never use a shoe compartment either. But it is still good to have. For instance for dirty or wet clothing (imagine getting caught in the rain on your way to the airport, now you can just put the wet jacket in there. Not ideal for it to dry, but in an emergency it's better than carrying it in your hands all the time).
      In terms of laptop, I admire you that you can fly with just a phone. But I usually need to travel with a laptop. But even if you don't need a laptop, this compartment is great for any flat item (e. G. Notebook, iPad, magazine or even some clothing you need to grab fast)

    Great honest review, I was deciding between this and the Slicks backpack. It looks like I made the right decision in backing the AER Travel Pack Kickstarter campaign, however I do much prefer the styling of the Slicks backpack, there's just something about that yellow tab that I love! Wish I could afford both! The main compartment zippers do seem like a major oversight though!

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kevin Allibone hey Kevin,
      Thank you very much. Both have their pros and cons, and you can't go wrong with either one.
      As for money, it's a lot of money, that's totally understandable. But I think it is always better to wait a bit and save some cash for a good product, instead of buying a cheaper one and have it fail quickly just to buy another one. Especially when it is a bag in which you might carry an expensive laptop. Maybe you've seen my buying decision video. I saved cash for almost a year just to get that bag, and now I value that bag even more tbh.

    Just got this bag delivered in UK!!
    What I did not know is that I had to pay a £44 custom charge on top of the $200 for the bag!!

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Thibaut Desfoux hey Thibaut.
      Unfortunately that is normal with orders from outside your country. I have to pay custom fees for all the bags that I order outside of the EU 😢 which is also why my Goruck was so expensive.
      But that is not the fault of the bag companies, they always state on their website that international orders will always have duty or custom fees.
      I know that that sucks. Sorry about that. I pay customs for all the bags that I review even if I get a review item for free.

    Hey Bo! You should try reviewing the Aer Fit bag as it has the best features of this bag in a smaller package. I've used it every day for the last year and love it!

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Ryan.
      Aer has some great stuff, therefore I would assume that the Fit Bag is awesome. But I don't really like the fit bags and duffel packs main compartment. I do prefer clamshell loading bags. But other than that It looks great!

    Super Videos, da ich mich echt für Rucksäcke/Gear interessiere trifft das genau meinen Nerv, zumal die Rucksäcke gut gewählt sind.
    Würde mir wünschen, auch Modelle von gängigen Outdoorfirmen zu sehen, die vom Stil in die gleiche Sparte passen.
    Und vllt kann ein Link zum jeweiligen Produkt in die Beschreibung, erleichtert es sich das noch einmal anzugucken, bzw es ggf zu erwerben.
    Danke weiter so

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Markus Cee moin Markus.
      Danke für das Feedback. Ja, die gängigen outdoor Firmen haben tolle Rucksäcke. Aber da die, wie du schon sagst, "gangig" sind und meist auch eine gute Reputation haben, konzentriere ich mich aktuell lieber auf die neueren oder in Deutschland nicht so bekannten Marken. Was aber auch an der mangelnden Zeit und dem Interesse liegt, ich kann einfach nicht soviele Sachen im. Monat testen, dementsprechend muss ich schon abwägen, was ich teste.
      Zu den links: in meiner Beschreibung steht, warum ich keine links dazu packe. Einer seits kommt das schnell wie Werbung vor, und anderer seits macht es aufgrund von liefer- und Zollgebühren einfach Sinn, dass jeder selber nach dem besten Preis googled. Hoffe das ist verständlich.
      Nochmal danke für dein tolles Feedback.
      Lieben Gruß aus Hamburg. Bo

      +amurorae hey,
      I Dj as well. And back in the days when I still used vinyl I actually used a bag from magma. They are pretty good, especially when you carry gear. But I personally wouldn't use them for traveling, because all the padding would use up too much space when all I'm carrying is just clothing.
      But for Dj gear those bags used to be great. And I imagine that they still are awesome.

    the material and weight of the bag given its price seems pretty lackluster, imo
    1050d ballistic or 1000d Cordura more preferred given this price point

      are the main compartment zippers urethane coated on the inside? I know Tom Bihn tends to coat the inside and let the teeth face outwards because this is way more durable in actual rainy weather

    • @Youknowthebo

    Hi Bo. Awesome reviews, really well balanced. Which bag would you choose for your weekend/carry on bag between Gorock GR2, AER Travel Pack, slicks or maybe another?

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Paul,
      Thank you very much!
      I don't own the GR2 unfortunately, so I have to base this recommendation on my experience with my GR0, which is basically the small version of it. Between the three I would go either with the AER or the GOruck, because I feel that the Slicks has a lot of compartments that force a certain packing style upon me. The Goruck and the AER are more simplistic with their big main compartments so the bag will adapt to my packing style. Between the AER and the Goruck you can't go wrong with either one. It just comes down to style, price and durability.
      the Goruck is more durable but also way more expensive. The AER on the other hand is a little better suited for a work environment and might be a tad more comfortable to wear.
      I hope that helps a bit. Let me know if you have more questions.
      CHeers,
      Bo

    • @pauljeynes2589
      @pauljeynes2589 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Bo and thanks for the reply.
      I know what you mean about the Slicks as I've had hands on with it today and as good as it is it doesn't suit the way I pack. I've got a GR1 21ltr (same as your GR0) and love it but not sure if the price difference between the AER & GR2 is justified for what I'll be using it for although I'm fortunate enough to get 25% of all GoRuck gear being in the Fire Service so it makes slightly better and I think the wolf grey colour looks awesome.
      Keep up the great videos and thanks again.
      Paul.

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Paul Jeynes Yeah, the price difference is a very important factor. For me personally the price difference wasn't worth it. I haven't been able to tackle the "one bag travel" philosophy, therefore I wouldn't use the gr2 that much anyways. So for those couple of occasions when I actually do manage just to fill one bag, the aer with it's more manageable price was the more reasonable choice.

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Izwandi!
      Thank you very much. As you might know from this video th-cam.com/video/54kOtRoVqPg/w-d-xo.html I like to pack modular and "mis-use" normal backpacks as camera or equipment bags. What kind of bag are you exactly looking for? Messenger style or backpack? What else do you want to carry? And what kind of budget are you looking at?
      Since you are in indonesia, take a look at westward works. They are in Jakarta and have some nice designs. But I haven't tested anything from them myself yet. Also Life behind bars is also in Jakarta, they make Bike bags that looks very good. I'm actually waiting for a review unit from them.
      Best,
      Bo

      Bo Ismono Ah I'm looking for a backpack that can store maybe 5-days' worth of clothing, a camera (as mentioned before), a laptop and other peripherals (maybe a tent as well). I know it's not ideal to fit everything into one bag but I like the idea of just carrying a single bag. Nonetheless, I got some ideas after watching your 'How to Pack Modular' video. Waiting for that Life Behind Bars bag review! Thanks!
      P.S.: I'm from Singapore, not Indonesia, haha!

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** Ok, that is a lot of stuff you want to carry. So we are probably looking at something around 30L capacity. Then the Life behind bars Peloton might be something for you. But I haven't tested it yet. Review will come out in maybe a month.
      This AER Travel Pack might be the right pack as well. But it is rather big if you want to use it as a daypack as well.
      PS.: Singapore is on my bucketlist. One day I'll visit your city ;-)

    Hi Bo!! It would be awesome if you could do a review on the hylete 6 in 1 backpack. Love your channel

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Emma,
      I have seen the hylete 6 in 1 backpack. WHile it does look interesting, I have some reservations about this bag. The 6 in 1 design results in a lot of fabric and therefore bulk (at least as far as I can tell from the videos). Furthermore when you look at the video you can see that the model is a very tall and muskular guy, and even on him the bag does look big. Imagine that huge bag on a short asian dude like me HAHA. That bag would dwarf me.
      However, these are just speculations on my part. Maybe I will get the chance to review it. Thank you very much for your support!!!

    • @emmanouelagerontopoulou9136
      @emmanouelagerontopoulou9136 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bo Ismono Haha no I'm sure it would be fine. However I see your point about the excessive fabric. I just liked the option of an additional 20l because I will be backpacking Europe in Summer and the size of this bag is perfect. I am tall so do you think this bag would be good for me or could you recommend something else? Thanks

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Emma Geronto I see that the need for a smaller bag when you try to travel with just one bag. One option could be the PX invisible backpack. That bag is a) quite light in weight and b) is so flexible that you could fold it up relatively small and just pack it into your main bag.

    Hey mate, Nice video again, You rock!!
    I am getting it on KS, however I'd like to know why did you enjoy more the AER than the Slicks as Slicks has more features?
    Is this because of the weight and shoe compartment?

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey mate!
      Thank you very much! I prefer the AER because of it's simplicity. Due to it's big simple main compartment I can use my own packing style (i.e. packing cubes etc.). The Slicks has a lot of Features and organizational add ons that "forced" me to change my packing style. This is of course just a minor personal thing. The AER's system reminds me alot to the Goruck style. That is probably why I like it.

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Kevyli!
      Thank you very much. I haven't tested the Minaal yet. Looking just at the retail prices they do not seem to differ much. The Minaal 2 cost $299 and the AER will cost $260
      Just looking at the Website pictures, the Minaal reminds me of the Slicks Backpack in terms of feature set. It has a lot of features and pouches and therefore you basicaly need to adapt to that packing style. While the AER has a big simple compartment so that you can use your own packing style (like cubes etc.). I prefer the later.
      But this is just a quick observation based on pictures.

      @Youknowthebo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Chris Javier thanks, Chris. those are the GoRuck shadow pockets. They are now called goruck simple field pocket xl. You can get them from goruck.com but with shipping and customs fees they can get quite expensive if you do not live in usa.
      The bigger one with mesh is from Muji. They are quite nice, but also cost a little bit more.

    @Argus225 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Genialer channel, Bo! Vielen Dank. Hab sämtliche reviews genossen. My question in English for everyone else's benefit:
    I'm looking for the perfect carry-on that's also durable enough to take into the field in rougher environments. My priorities, in order, are organization, durability/waterproofing, price, and weight.
    I'm mostly considering the AER and the 20L Mission Workshop R6, but the Heimplanet 22L Monolith looks great too (can't wait for your review!). I'm really not a fan of top-loaders or roll-tops, but I love the ruggedness and customizability of the R6. But would I actually ever detach the modules or does the system just add weight and bulk? The AER has the organization & clamshell I want but I'm not sure how it would do in the field rather than on an airplane.
    Which bag would you recommend (or are there others I don't know about yet?)

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Moin Argus!
      Danke sehr!!! Really appreciate it. Ok, let me answer your question:
      100% waterproofing is probably best achieved by a toploader and a raincover, but this will make your first priority "organization" a little more difficult. As a quick disclaimer: I'm totally the urban person, I have never been camping or in rough environments, therefore I am NOT the best person on advising appropriate bags for those scenarios. But I will try my best ;-)
      When it comes down to organization and IMHO best way of packing, nothing beats a clamshell opening. But as I said, this will reduce the waterproofing unless you use a raincover. But be aware: A rain cover is always open on the back, so in heavy rain water still could get into the bag on the backside.
      The Mission Workshop bags are great, but since I reviewed the Peloton I would rather take that one over the Mission Workshop to be honest. BUT those are both toploaders which brings us back to the point 1.
      So if we go with a clamshell I would still go with the Goruck GR1 21L. That one is build like a tank, is simple and opens up to a lot of organization with packing cubes like their field pockets or Heimplanets pouches. But it is heavier and more importantly very expensive, especially for us here in Germany.
      And talking about the Heimplanet. Yes, the Daypack would be a good choice as well. It has a lot of organizational options and can be carried as a backpack or messenger. It is very lightweight but durable. BUT I don't know yet how durable.
      What kind of rough environments are we talking about?

    • @Argus225
      @Argus225 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the thoughtful reply! I'm mostly talking about camping, but it should also work in the field - rural China, Africa, etc. But mostly it'll be used for regular travel.
      I've gotten quite into prepping so I tend to be seduced by bags with lots and lots of pockets. I turned a OneTigris EDC Sling (which I absolutely love btw) into a Bug Out Bag with about 50 survival items inside, so that's been my mental mode since then even though regular travel doesn't really require as much organization.
      It really seems like the Goruck covers most of my priorities really well - it's expensive, but I'll have to take another look at it! I've also found your purchase decision method really helpful: I think the toploader/rolltop is not a con I can live with, so that takes out the Mission Workshop (though I initially fell in love with everything else about it) and the Peloton.
      What got you into bags? It's a new passion for me, via prepping/camping.
      LG,
      Simon (from Copenhagen)

      Argus225 Cool, I really need to make a bug out bag as well. Have you maybe looked at 5.11 Rush12? It's more military but has a way more affordable price. And it's still very durable.
      I got into the whole bag thing because I love being prepped and like using pouches and organizing aspect. EDC was also one thing I was always interested in. But since I'm more the city guy I still need to learn a lot.

      @Youknowthebo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Taylor Ramirez hey Taylor.
      Thank you very much. Well, you are right, unfortunately they don't sell them anymore. As for an alternative I can recommend the muji packing cubes, but there are also a lot of cheap one one Amazon. I even think that Amazon basic has some cubes. Also TAD has some packing cubes. I just reviewed the tad meridian case with their cubes. Review will be online in a couple of weeks. But they are quite pricey though.

    Hello Bo! One question, how is the bag holding up? I read a post by Tom Bihn and he explains that 1680 fabric ages poorly and tends to fuzz in wear points. Have you experienced any of this? Thanks!

    Hey Bo. Thanks for yet another great review. I've been deciding on getting this bag but my only concern is its height and whether it would fit comfortably on my back. It looks like the bag sits pretty high on your back. As a point of reference, would you mind sharing how tall you are? Many thanks.

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey James,
      I'm 165cm tall, that's about 5'5. But I also like to wear my bags pretty high on my bag so it doesn't move around too much when I'm running.
      Let me know if you have any more questions ;-)

      Hey,
      I like it even more after more use. I use it quite a lot for weekend trips or even when I need to carry a lot of stuff to work. It's still too big for me as a everyday carry bag, but for short trips it is great.

    Hey, great review of the bag! I have a question about those "packing cubes", those little box packs you put your stuff in. Where can I get those from, or basically what are they called? I see one of yours says Slicks on it, but are there specific brands that make these kinds of things? Are there like standard sizes, etc.? Thanks!

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Alaa Ali thank you very much 😉
      The packing cubes are the GoRuck shadow pockets (now called field pockets xl if I'm not mistaken) and the mesh one is from Muji. The one with Slicks is the dop kit from the Slicks backpack.
      Packing cubes come in different sizes and different prices. The gorucks are very expensive. You can get cheap packing cubes from Amazon basic.
      I only pack with packing cubes. It makes everything a little bit more easier and especially organized.

    Hey Bo, I was wondering if you could clarify something for me. Currently I'm looking into this bag for myself. However one of my daily essentials is my 40oz insulated Hydroflask, but I am a little concern of it'll be able to fit into the water bottle pocket. Could you help me out and clarify this for me before I purchase the bag? I appreciate the help and think your channel is very informative! It always includes additional information a lot of other videos don't address.

      The water bottle compartment is expandable. So I assume a lot of different bottles will fit. But I'm not sure about the hydroflask as I don't have it to test it out. Can you tell me the diameter of the hydroflask?

      Cool! Looking forward to it! I'm actually more curious about the add-ons that u can buy for the pack. How well does those MOLLE pouches work compared to other packing cubes. And those organizer panels too.

    • @Youknowthebo

      The pouches are quite nice, but they don't have the typical MOLLE attachement system. They are sure nice, but have a different size than "normal" packing cubes.

      Thank you very much. I'm happy to hear that you like my videos! I really love the AER travel pack which is why it has been on my Favorite Bags 1.0 list. I have not tested or even seen the Tortuga in person yet. But just from the look alone I would prefer the AER

    • @KatonFalk
      @KatonFalk 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bo Ismono I was about to order Aer, then I discover the tortuga with the hips straps, and I dunno what to do now. Being in Japan moving around all day with one single backpack its a dream for me, i dont want to screw it with an overweight bag. I will be there for 4 weeks more or less, and cleaning my clothes once per week. Should I carry 2 week clothing or with a week and a half clothing it will be alright. Will Aer be the bag more suitable between this two or you recomend me another one. Im not saying, pick one for me, just your opinion. I like so much the way you organize all your stuff, im trying to do the same. Love it.

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +BudoRyuu the aer is pretty cool since you can compress it and it then actually looks like a regular Daypack. So pack with cubes and then just leave the cubes in the hotel. I don't have any experience with the Tortuga unfortunately. But I personally don't like waistbelts as they tend to get in the way a lot of times (e.g. Get stuck in the overhead compartment) and most of the times I don't use them. Obviously they add a lot of comfort when carrying the bag, but with a carry on size you might not even have such a heavy load.
      That probably hasn't helped you a lot. Did you see my how I make a buying decision video? What are the major flaws of each bag for you? And are those flaws something you can live with or not? Because both bags are probably very good. You just need to figure out what you dislike about each one of them and then make a decision based on that 😉

    • @KatonFalk
      @KatonFalk 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bo Ismono i think I saw all the videos already haha. I did pros and cons, and i think i'll flip a coin and lets see what happens. Cuz if not, the tortuga might be the best decision for me in this travel.

      +Moonface00z for a trip up to four days (depending on how you plan to pack and travel of course, if you travel to a cold country then you probably won't be able to fit up to four days) I would recommend three bags right now: the aer travel pack, heimplanet weekender (currently in review) and the GoRuck gr2 (haven't tested it yet, but the gr1 21L that I'm using is great). There are probably many more good bags out there, but those are the three that I know of and have experience with.

      Hallo Basti,
      Ja, ich hab die Tasche direkt von der AER Website. Der Versand an sich geht schnell, aber wie schnell der Zoll dann die Lieferung bearbeitet, ist eher eine Glücksache. Du zahlst dann auf die Lieferung Zollgebühren. Wieviel es genau war, weiß ich leider nicht mehr. Aber der James, der hier auch kommentiert hat, hab ich über Instergram kennengelernt und verkauft seinen Rucksack. Vielleicht ist das was für Dich.

    Great review! I've watched several of your reviews in the past but this one is by far on e of your best. I have a question, what's your opinion on the comfort of the bag on your back and shoulders for walks around a city? I have a 34L GR2 and I recently carried it in Washington D.C.. It wasn't too heavy, mainly water bottles, small EDC items and a first aid kit. In my opinion, GORUCK makes the most comfortable bag in the business. I also have a TAD light speed and a SOC 54L. The TAD bag isn't very comfortable it's on it's way out of my collection.

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much.
      To answer your question: The bag is quite comfortable to carry around the city, but I wouldn't consider it as a daypack (to be fair, I wouldn't consider the GR2 a daypack either). I haven't held the GR2 yet, but comparing just the materials of my GR0 to the AER I would imagine that the AER is slightly lighter than the GR2 when they are both empty, therefore it is possible that the AER is a little bit more comfortable to wear with the same load. Furthermore, the AER has backventilation, which the Goruck bags do not have (this is due to easier cleaning purposes). The Goruck bags get fairly hot on the back in the summer.
      Hope this answers your question a little bit. Cheers,
      Bo

    • @Poeticalt911
      @Poeticalt911 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your comment about the lack of ventilation is very true concerning the GR bags. I'm looking for a smaller bag with thick straps like the GR bags. I preordered the AER travel bag yesterday as soon as I finished your review. Any suggestions on a smaller bag with good shoulder straps. BTW..your comment about the weather sealed zippers on the AER bag made so much sense, I don't know why they left it out on the main zippers.
