nick with Rockpile Dave Edmunds on guitar and lead Billy Bremmer on guitar and Terry Williams on drums. Saw them a couple times in the states opening for Elvis Costello. Rockpile kicked ass!
I would give up a thumb to be apart of that crowd. What a motley crew of subculture kids ❤ This is also criminally underrated. If I could just say, I feel like artists like Lowe, Costello and what I think of as the OGs of this north eastern downbeat shuffle (I made that up sorry), Thin Lizzy... are pioneers of not only New Wave, but also an unknown sub genre of rock and punk rock. No cap. Listen to Thin Lizzy's "The Boys Are Back In Town" or anything early Costello and that's what I'm going on about. I dunno.
I'm assuming this was from "Supersonic" the Mike Mansfield show. I remember seeing it with Edmunds in shades and Basher taking centre-stage, but I also seem to remember he was playing a semi-acoustic bass whereas here he seems to have borrowed Bruce Thomas' flamingo pink Fender. Anyone else have memories of this; accurate or otherwise?
Such a great band… their live performances were amazing… Dave & Nick & Billy & Terry…… ROCKPILE!!❤
