My intention was to do the same thing regarding power and heart; match bpm on a smart trainer (as yet unpurchased), then I can skip power cranks or pedals.
How much faster do you go on your 20k tt bike in a race with drafting, than on your regular road bike if you rode at the same wattage you would put out in an Ironman 70.3?
Simon, i have a question please. Is 12 months enough time to finish a full ironman?? Right now i can do a marathon, im ok on the bike (im built for endurance and not speed, im 6ft 2, and 200lbs) my swim needs a lot of work, but im able to train 5-6 days per week most weeks. Starting from this, is 12 months enough time to finish an full IM??
Yes! I think so. If you stay consistent, you’ll do it Your run seems good. As well as bike. Build up the swim and 12 months should be plenty of time! Good luck 👍
Great video congrats! Thank you I don’t understand the logic of not spending $40 for calf sleeves that could help move you up in the standings or other inexpensive things that could save you more watts. I could understand if we’re talking spending thousands of dollars but for a couple hundred you could definitely be faster
Thanks!! I am going to get aero calf sleeves actually! Since 70.3 Indian Wells will be wetsuit legal, it’s wise to have the aero calf sleeves So will do some aero testing this fall before the race!
But riding on a triathlon bike is much better than riding a regular steel roadbike for 180k or 90k. I've asked you before if it the bike does really matter and you said not really. I have tried using the speedconcept and i was faster for more than 45mins than riding my trek alpha aluminum. comfort wise, a tt does really help in riding for long distances.
Yes. I must have thought you asked for a sprint distance for like a first race. In that case, I would say it does not matter and just go out and have fun. The longer the distance, the more the TT bike will matter. Just depends on what your trying to accomplish. If you just want to complete an Ironman and don’t have much money, a road bike shall do. Lots of people use road for full distance too
Have you got any good resources for TT bike fit info? I did go see a fitter, but I'm still having a lot of problems and can't afford to go back. I especially have pain and fatigue in my neck, it feels like I'm having to extend my neck too far to see where I'm going, but I'm already in a fairly relaxed TT position, not sure what's going on with that. Only 2-3 hours into a ride and I'm toast in the aero bars, I really need to get comfortable for 12-24 hour races. What level of support do you receive from sponsorships? Is it just discounts on purchasing equipment, or do you actually earn any sort of income from sponsors? How good did your results have to be to begin receiving support from sponsors? I'm not a triathlete, but definitely pushing hard to reach the top levels of my cycling discipline, I hope one day I can find a way to really dive into training as hard as I want to, but there's limits to what you can do with a full time job and a family.
Hey! I don’t know where you’re from so I can’t recommend any bike fitter. I got a really good one from cyclogic in Scottsdale, Arizona. I receive some income too from sponsors. But this took a lot to get to this point. If your neck is getting tight, I would do neck exercises and stretches. My lower back used to always ache but after doing low back exercises and stretching everyday, it mostly went away Good luck 👍
Speaking as a vertically challenged person myself who also rides 155’s at 170cm my bike fitter recommended 155’s to open up the hips to aid in comfort and easier running off of the bike.

Good stuff! Yeah that’s the way to do it! Really focused training indoors
They’re some good looking bikes 😍😍
They are!! 😀😀

I'm not sure the exact time. But probably a LOT FASTER!

I was just saying. If you’re just starting out in the sport and buy $20k of stuff, I don’t think that’s the way to go
When you plan your next year season, please consider Kalmar, so that I can see you race live... ;-)
Ok!! Thanks for letting me know!

Good job Shi
Thank you 🙏
Great video, great content 👍
Appreciate it!!!
Es lo mejor del mercado al no tener caño en el medio se divide el peso del cuerpo en ambas ruedas súper rápida liviana
Thanks 🙏
what is the weight of the Mogul?
It's just under 20 pounds with all my bottles and equipment
How did you afford this bike?
Grateful for my sponsors. And I had a job before I turned a pro triathlete
pretty cool
Thank you 🙏
160/155 cranks is surprising what made you go that short

Yeah. It really opens up my hips. I’ve been feeling more powerful in my road bike with 160mm crank so may change that for my TT bike in the future
GarageCan you make a video?😊
Yes
