    I'm still waiting for a calcium reactor that measures the tank KH and auto adjusts the CO2 bubbles/min.

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Doable ish with an alk tester, controller :) but that’s turning of doing of it or the solenoid based on KH. Adjusting actual bubble count would be a tricky but Interesting way to do it !

      @@ReefDudes I run my CaRx very oldschool: no pH control, gravity fed, unrestricted flow.
      I use the Xepta Autobalance to monitor KH and I control de CO2 bubbles per minute and perform micro adjustments by setting the time the CO2 is off at night with a smart plug.
      The Autobalance doses balling if by any reason the KH falls.
      But my base source of alk is kalkwasser. Then the CaRx and then the Xepta.
      So, for me, the most elegant solution for a CaRx would include a KH tester with automatic adjustment of CO2.
      Nowadays all that some of the KH monitors can do is turning the CO2 on/off.

      It’s called a Dastaco. European and expensive af

    I had bad experience with this as the solenoid got stuck on and I threw it away as it is too expensive to send back for repair

      Thats sketchy, i have only ever heard of one person having an issue.. up to 2 now! I bought my first one used and has been going strong for over a year now.

      @@ReefDudes I have my apex pH probe in the sump. Is there a way to have more than 1 pH probe connected to the apex controller or you are not monitoring the pH to your tank through the apex? Thx.

    Hey dev quick question I was testing my bottle and carbon doser cracked the bottle and then closed it again. Bottle pressure around 80 set the second gauge to 10 psi. Held most of the night. I got sidetracked w work 2-3 days later both gauges back to zero? Normal over that time not normal? I’ll do a leak test soon

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Main bottle should be 800-1000 ish.
      If it’s dropped over a few days I wouldn’t worry to much but a leak test with soapy water never hurts!

    The carbon doser electrical box is not straight after you install to the co2 tank. Becareful.

    Not sure I like the name,because it is really not a Carbon doser,but that is the manufacturers problem. Second ,EVERYONE making any kind of video involving chemicals or pressurized vessels ,i.e.,the cylinder;needs to warn people of their dangers.If you do not believe me watch videos online of what happens should the tank get knocked over. Doc BC be well out there all

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      well its a co2 doser! but it was designed for planted aquariums hence the name. I agree, co2 tanks should always be secured properly so they dont fall over and away from tiny hands.
