"Dirty Harry" contains samples from these 4 songs:
Lafayette Afro Rock Band - Baba Hya
    Damon Albarn - I Need A Gun
Eddie Bo and the Soul Finders - We're Doing It (The Thang) Pt. II
    Giant - Queen of Downs
You may have recognized one or more of the samples, and that could be why it sounded familiar to you. Great reaction!

@@imanoli41I understand that. I included "I Need A Gun" because:
      1) It was listed in the sample credits
      2) It was officially released in December 2003 on Albarn's solo EP, Demoncrazy. Which was almost 2 years before "Dirty Harry" was released on Demon Days (November 2005). So it's possible that MrLboyd heard "I Need A Gun" prior to hearing "Dirty Harry" and recognized it.

    • @zackmarkham4240
      @zackmarkham4240 2 ปีที่แล้ว

For those outside of America or born after that presidency, W refers to George W Bush. Also known as Dub, Dubya, and several I can't remember. My fave is 'that chimp who wrote his own speeches and still got them wrong'. I don't lean to any political side at all, cause the government is corrupt, owned by money, and the nation is screwed no matter who gets in office, but W was fun just cause of his accent and how seemingly not-smart he was.

the lyricism is clever and devestating and the video? genius, notice how dude emerges from the sand ultimately lamenting he used to dance and thats all he wanted to do, instead the likelihood is he died in the desert for nothing (like you said about poverty) wanting to escape having nothing and the government promises you all that and more, never delivering, not divulging the particulars of evil you'll be expected to undertake, and just leaving you to it in a desolate location a fully expendable pawn

I think the lyrics for this part is pretty interesting
"I need a gun 'cause all I do is dance."
They need a gun for the terrible "crime" of trying to live and thrive in a harsh world. They've committed the "sin" of trying to live fulfilling lives where they can dance and therefore need a gun to defend themselves from those ready to enact "justice".

Just FYI, Dirty Harry had a .44 Magnum.
    - Compared to a .45 ACP semi-automatic, the .44 Magnum is quite a bit more powerful, albeit with more recoil as well. Of course, the .44 loses the benefits of a semi-auto.
    - The .44 Magnum was not, as he says in the movie, "the most powerful handgun in the world" but if you limit the selection to popular calibers, then it wasn't much of a stretch.

Excellent content, I appreciate the insight you bring to music.
However the audio track presentation has an issue (stats for nerds has this -8.6RMS below its baseline), very quiet.
Thinking that may account for how different the engagement is between this video and your Goreilaz Feel Good Inc video uploaded a year later.
More engagement is more people hearing your ideas.

When you get around to reacting to Rhinestone Eyes. Gorrilaz didn't have enough funds to fully animate it, so all the is uploaded for it offically was the storyboard with the song over it, well someone a few years ago spent 6 years turning the storyboard into a full video, so when you react to Rhinestone Eyes, please do that music video that the fan made.

Don't read my comment if you are trying to figure these things out on your own SOILERS ahead
Gorillaz is an animated Hip-Hop group put together by Damon Albarn (also the front man for UK rock group the Blur)
Also Danger Mouse (famous for the Grey Album, DJing, and working with MF Doom) does percussion and looping and sound mixing for the group
As far as I know when preforming live they are behind Monitors and are only represented by their corresponding animated avatar.
Each of the 4 songs I have seen you watch all have featured artist even if it isn't explicitly said this way:
Clint Eastwood features "The mystery MC" aka Del the Funky Homosapien
Feel Good Inc features Trugoy the Dove of De La Soul (you called it but weren't sure)
DARE Features Shaun Ryder (I had to look this one up)
Dirty Hairy Features Bootie Brown of the Pharcyde
With enough time you would have figured this things out. That's all i know i am sure other songs have some deep cuts and some cool featured artists. I have seen some performances with some wild stand-ins.
