After watching this video I purchased one the these Glarry f hole teles. Thank You. Just what was looking for. Will follow you for any upgrades, but really happy with what I got. Had ordered a red one, but got one just like you played, glad I didn't get red. This is works for me.
There's a similar Glarry on amazon for 79 bucks without the f-hole and the output jack is indicated as "soundhole for connecting device" but it looks good and probably sounds OK. If you don't know how to do the setup on your own guitar and you take it to the shop to get the strings changed you probably shouldn't buy. But if you know how to fix up a cheapo tele there's no real reason to spend over a hundred bucks.
Thank you so much for watching Mark. Your comment is just about perfectly in line with my thinking. If you consider these cheaper guitars like a 90% complete kit guitar and then do your own modding and setup if you are capable then you can have something that works quite well and modded to your own specs for not much money. I have the opinion that nothing is unfixable It might not be practical but if you are determined enough you can make anything work the way you want it too.
Thank you for watching Jose. Yes, I plan on doing a full setup on it in the future. If need be I'll do a Fret level, crown, polish, nut all that. I'm going to see how good I can get it playing. Then I'll start modding the pickups and stuff.
@@heavymetalATC cool. I've recently bough one of those cheaper fretboard notched straight edges from AliExpress (no way I'm paying over ten times more to stewmac). It's made from thick stainless steel, only thing I had to do was to sand it down a little bit over a piece of glass. It was already perfectly straight, but the edges were a little rough. I've already leveled and crowned four fretboards since then, with perfect results. Cheers, mate
@@heavymetalATC also you should adventure on compensated nuts. I've been making my own out of either brass or bone, for over ten years, and it really makes a good difference. By the way, how's the project of the alumitone workalike pickups? I've been making my own experiments, and I've found that only one coil for the transformer primary works the best.
some ppl hate the styrofoam package but hell.. a lot of hardcases have this same styro mold inside just covered in some kinda textile or another.. you could actually use it to make a hardcase :)
Thank you for watching Baron. It does a wild thing in the middle position its like an instant white stripes button when you are really digging into it. The pickups aren't the strong point of the guitar they can be modded into a good set.
I have a Squire Affinity Tele...$167, it's amazing. I also like PBR. Great sounding guitar, I know you can fix the pups, so do your magic! I recently found an Alnico for the bridge on my Tele, next string change, it's going in!
Thank you for watching TTS. Yes this guitar isnt quite the quality of a squire. I find those to actually be exceptional instruments. I see people on forums that dont actually Bash them but kinda speak of them as less than. My thoughts are basically if you dont like that Squire tele or strat then you would probably find some excuse why a vintage esquire or 60s strat didn't instantly turn you into a guitar god either LOL Squires are great instruments. Yeah, ill figure something out on these I'm thinking with the low wind count on the bridge a neo magnet might just be the perfect solution but Im still trying to figure out what to do with that humbucker a gold foil or p90 in its place would be awesome but I'm not sure if thats inline with the whole spirit of the cheapest I can mod it route.
@@heavymetalATC There is a replacement Piezo bridge and saddles on E-bay for about $70, and there is a guy from either russia or ukraine, I can't remember which who makes a small and I do mean sm-all pre amp that would require soldering leads to, but the PCB is small enough to fit under the control plate with a 9v battery. The shipping cost more than the board itself, so I was thinking when I got ready to do it, I'd buy 5 or 6 of the boards from him.
Thank you Petey. Its the same camera and lens as usual but I did try to set up some pretty shots. You see how easily I was able to play this guitar in the intro and then you see that action height and you get an idea what kind of guitars I learned on LOL
I have never been a tele bro, but I keep seeing so many vids with one that I swear there is some sort of cosmic conspiracy happening trying to get me to get one. The problem is I have to have a 12in radius, or more neck, and 24in scale length for any future guitar purchase as a minimum spec.

Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment Commove. Its still in the state it was in the last video... A cut and buff on the body, finish on the neck, assembly and setup are really all that is needed but Its been way to hot outside for me to get out there and finish it. I may start working on it in here in my spare time if I already have the lighting and camera out.
Awesome review! I can feel comfortable recommending the guitar (and the review) to people who ask me what to buy, which happens a lot, strangely. Because I do NOT need another guitar, no matter how tempted I am by the low price!
The only temptation I have, or rather a need, is for an acoustic guitar to have an electric style bridge (no more saddles pahleese) with a 12-16in compound radius and a 24 inch scale at sub 300 USD. The scale and a minimum of a 12 inch radius are mandatory. The other two are just a dream I have that I hope one day to find.
Thank you Erick. Yes, keep in mind this guitar will need a good setup job but if you know someone that likes to tinker and do projects or would like to learn such things its a great buy.
That is silly money for just one or two of the parts... like the body and the saddles are already worth the price. But this is an actual playable guitar. Nice.
About the jack: I had the same thing happened with a switchcraft jack i have just installed. Maybe it needs to be worked in? Or the wires got in the way? I haven't looked at it yet. But it is exactly the thing that is happening to my just-assembled guitar.
Thank you for watching Akos. I think if you consider this guitar like a 90% complete kit guitar and know that it will require a setup and maybe some parts to function well. Its a great deal in my opinion.
