😢 damping off or like you said just bad compost, like my onion compost 😢. Shallots are really doing well, I have to sow more and more onions seed. Bulbs are doing well too 👍👍. It’s snowing here ❄️❄️❄️ but hopefully it kills off slug eggs. 😂😂😂 you’re very welcome 🤗 I hope they all do well. Have an amazing week, Ali ❄️❄️❄️🇨🇦
Thanks again Ali for the seeds. Yes that is one good thing about the snow. Do you have the same issue about peat free compost in Canada? Have a great week xxx
@@bethanskitchengarden we have never had issue yet with peat but I’m sure it will come. This is regular seed sowing compost and I’ve never ever had so many issues with it. I may try heating in the oven (if Gerald is out 🤣🤣) perhaps it’s just gnats. I’m really at a loss
@ 😂😂😂I have images of you leaping into action as soon as you hear Gerald’s vehicle leaving and rushing to the oven 😂😂😂 Make sure you film it, it will be hilarious 🤣
@@Feelgoodgardens thanks Linda, I think that fence is going to be either really easy or really problematic, I hope it’s the first one!! I was hoping the mustard and spinach would grow in my greenhouse but they have just sat there really, I’ll pot them on and see if they move. Have a great week too 😍❤️xx
Bethan your failures look like my successes so you must have green fingers. Good that you have some good starter plants. Thanks for the inspiration I applaud your keeness.
Thanks Irene, I may give silvagrow another go, I tried it last year and my peppers and aubergines seemed to stall in it, peat free compost seems to vary year to year, glad you had good results with it 😊 Thanks for watching 😍
You might have to get another plot for all the seeds Ali sent. 😂 Did I see a bottle of wine in your shed? Nice to see your click and grow unit is working, I've been thinking those are a hassle with mediocre results. Have a great week! Trude
@@trold1969 😂 yes I was thinking the same thing myself about another allotment. Yes there was a wine bottle from the previous owner but alas it is empty. I wouldn’t bother with a Click and Grow unit, I don’t think they produce enough to make it worth doing but I have it now so will carry on using it. Have a great week and thanks for watching 😊
Can't beat sowing its one of the most rewarding things watching germination rates. I think you'll have better luck with the old method, and pricking out when large enough to handle. Not 100% sure of the grow lights success rate. Thanks for sharing, bfn. 🐞🌻🌱
Hi Bethan your compost looks a bit woody to me under the grow lights, the peppers look good. Are the super 7 propagator heated? I'm thinking of getting a heated propagator 👌👍😁
Hi Nick, there’s definitely something wrong somewhere, maybe it was a last of the season bag so not many nutrients left in the compost 🤷♀️ No the super 7 I have is not heated, I thought they were heated too, I thought they had a plug but no plug on this one, just capillary matting so self watering. Have a great Sunday 😊
Your plant modules are way too wet , the capillary matting is soaking it should only be slightly wet . Your plants are drowning , no air is getting to the roots , that's why they are struggling to grow . Cut right back on your watering and you should see a vast improvement .

@ 🤣🤣🤣 the problem is cooling the oven down before he realizes I had it on
@ just leave the door open…or use microwave if you have one? 🤔😉
Wow Bethan you have so much growing! 👏👏👏
Looking forward to seeing you mend that fence.
Happy gardening, have a great week ❤ xx

There's always something to do even when it's raining ☔️ Have a wonderful Sunday 🌞🌝☀️
Yes I like rainy days for getting jobs that sometimes get put off done 😊
Really enjoyed the update Bethan. You have lots going on. All the best. Mags
Thanks Mags, I’ll give you a spoiler…my sweet peas have started to show through 😊

Thanks very much and I’m sure your successes are better than that 😊 I wanted to get things together so I can get cracking when the weather is good, 😊
Hi Bethan lovely peppers ! a lot of allotments people say silva grow compost is good I’ve tried it yes I thought it was good ! lv Irene 😘 xx

Bethan you will need support wire running from post to post to support the chicken wire

If you don’t use both bags make sure to put in a very dry place 😂 voice of experience the bag absorbs moisture and sets 🤦♀️.
Thanks Ali, I will bare that in mind 😊

Thanks for the advice, I’ll pot some of them on and give it a go. 👍🏻
