The 'ugly' bar to me has a very 'desert dune at night' vibe going on with the dark rock and glitter being the night sky and stars. It's actually quite mystical and peaceful

I really love the "atrocious" bar and I know there are many people who prefer more muted , dusty colors to bright candy colors. Here (Denmark) most people want natural colors, so all my micas are collecting dust, I only use clays for coloring ♥
Oh wow, I love the "ugly" bar, it really gives a sort of rusty sand dune vibe - that brick orange and sandy brown really work, and it's going to be that light all the way through once the center of the soap finishes maturing so that grey-y is going to go away too. Doing it deliberately I can see where you might want to change it up - and of course if you were expecting that stunning galactic blue it's a disappointment to get brown - but I really do like the desert sunset look!
I'd be interested in seeing the "ugly" soap once it's fully cured and the colors reach their final stage. I remember the one paranormal color morph that was ugly when first cut, but then after a period of time the color became pretty again.

I didn’t hate the “ugly” soap. It kinda looks like an old Polaroid, the way it discolored. Also, pretty sure I had a sweater in the early 2000s that was that color combo.

For the record, I would absolutely use that brown soap! I have a horrible sense of humor and I think it would fit perfectly with the "bachelor can't get his life together" look that I like to go for sometimes. I love the swirls that divided bucket made even if the colours were not what you wanted and not really appealing. OMG Rainbow Road is so accurate for the second soap. Not just the latest version, but the way that bright road cuts through the black night sky in previous games as well. I LOVE it!
I actually really like the "ugly" soap, even more than the pastel one - pattern inside is great, color pallet turned out very consistent, and it has really natural, earthy look. I love earth colors, like browns and greens, with just a little addition of more vibrant ones, and I really don't like pastel...
I love to think how many artforms can use that technique! It's done in glass and candy making (as on two of my other favorite yt channels) but those two mediums (media?) are far more similar to each other than to soap, so I wonder if Katie could benefit from their processes 🤔🤷🏻♀️

That paranormal color morph was devastating because that blue/purple/gold combo was so beautiful. One of my favorite designs in a while. The falling rock exploding with the heavy metal screaming guy...so funny! Excellent video!
The stones are sodalite, one of my favorites. The discoloration actually makes the glitter and stones pop beautifully. The pastel rainbow gets me belting "Rainbow in the Dark"!

I think for the “blue” soap you could use the same technique and maybe even the colors and embed a soap cane in the shape of a bone and a dinosaur skull and have it be an archeology soap. Great for Indiana Jones or the mummy!
The whole time you were talking about the ugly soap I was cracking up with you, your laugh was so contagious there, it made my night. It's really not that bad if you want a neutral kind of soap, but I just love how you can still keep a positive attitude and laugh at your own mistakes instead of getting upset with it. I love the brown one! It'd be perfect for an environmental science-themed soap month! It's basically sedimentary rock with those layers. Imagine a bunch of different soaps inspired by different minerals, fossils, and rock formations, or even those epic rainbow lakes at Yosemite Park. Also, a note to the editor: Sometimes the music is very abrupt and loud but only lasts like 10 seconds, which feels more interruptive than entertaining. To make the transitional music a bit more smooth, keeping the same song for the entire video and then turning up the volume for the montages would make for a better sense of continuity, which would feel more seamless and less abrupt. I do enjoy the music you pick out, however, cause they're kinda pop and fit Katie's personality big time lol
Katie: It's atrocious! Me: *brain instantly names it* Faded Treasure Map. It's pretty in its own way. Just not bright. But the pastel rainbow is bright and beautiful.
I would LOVE to see the "ugly" bar redone with similar colors that work, it was gorgeous before... before. That said, it isn't the worst, I could definitely see why someone would like it... but I'd still love to see it done and the colors turn out as you intended.
I actually really like that caramel brown/tan frosting with the indigo colored stones and mica drizzle. I think it's a super calming palate. The inside, maybe not so much XD.
"But the actual frosting? Hot garbage!" That made me laugh so hard! 😂 The discolouration was really surprising though. That frosting looked absolutely amazing, with the shimmering blues and purples. I would never have guessed that was the one that would fail.
The "ugly" soap give me like a chocolate caramel classy sundae vibe. Idk the frosting looks like caramel and the inside looks pretty too! Sure if what you wanted was blue yes it definitely not that but still really pretty!
I'm not even ashamed to say that I love the 'ugly' soap. I wouldn't be opposed to a different color, but it's beautiful. That pouring technique was everything. I dig the other soap just as much. 💝🇹🇹
The "ugly" soap reminds me of chocolate ice cream or a cupcake, with that odd, dulled brownish color mixed with whatever other flavoring it includes. I think it's neat!
The accidentally brown soap reminds me of striped jasper! Very cool pattern, even if the colors were unintentional. Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn 😂 I love the rainbow cloud soap! It would be super cool to do a shooting star in a sparkly night sky, maybe with some purple/blue nebula marbling. Gorgeous!
The rainbow soap really makes me think of nyan cat, like, a rainbow, and the frosting looks like a cloud, and the heart on top is such a piece of emo/scene kid 2009 aesthetic V. Nostalgic, 10/10
I think the 'ugly' one is so cool! It looks like natural desert rock colors and I love the contrast on the top of the blue stone and the muddy brown ripples!
I'm going to be real honest this video has made me feel so freaking good. I've been having a rough time lately and seeing a longer video with more of the mixing/pouring and all the pretty colors just makes me feel so relaxed. The first soap, the frosting is absolutely stunning, so shiny and vibrant.... and then omg the transformation to the brown, that was so surprising!
I really liked the “blue” colour morph soap not just the design I actually liked the colours the earthy tones to it and honestly if u wasn’t expecting blues u would of loved it too I think! That rainbow is everything tho 🌈
I'm from Utah and the "ugly" one actually reminds me a ton of the landscape 😊 the rocks are like gems and geodes in the bedrock and stuff. The "cute" one reminds me of the 90s, and as a 90s kid, I love it!!

I'm honestly floored at how HIDEOUS every single one of those colors looked in that loaf! Maybe you should sell these as a duet: beautiful rainbows and the glittery beast LMAO. But seriously, I really like the drippy pastel paired with black, that's really cool.

I love these product testing videos - always so much fun to see the process in action. I kinda liked the top of the brown soap. I thought the brown with the blue stone and glittery bits looked quite nice. The inside though. Rough. The design looked good but those colours made it hard to appreciate the design! The rainbow soap was just joy, start to finish. Love your work Katie. I'm now making my own soaps because of you and it's the most fun I've had in years!

That color morph is indeed atrocious but the rainbow bar makes up for it. I love how it turned out! And the little lava rock hearts are too cute with it
The rainbow soap is stinkin adorable 🥰 it’s like she turned Moriah Elizabeth into soap lol BUT! I actually loved the ugly soap 🙈 it’s so Arizona desert/earth tones/soft and gentle looking. Plus the pattern is spectacular. The “one pot wonder” pour is my absolute favorite, my closet is full of soaps poured with that technique because it never stops being fun to see the results lol
I actually really dig that "failed" bar. Reminds me of the scrap yarns I was using when I first learned to crochet. Though that first little blanket I made was ugly as anything, I have fond memories of the time spent with my grandmother when she was teaching me. Though that blanket was not pretty, it holds some wonderful and beautiful memories, making it precious. Seeing that bar brought a smile to my face because of the memories it brought back.
Surprisingly, I quite like the brown soaps, I love the layered browns and rusts and grays. It's like, layers of earth! With an earthy smell and without the glitter, that would just be an earth soap. I'd definitely love that soap in my bathroom.
The "ugly" one could be planet soap. Like you diggging deep into earth and find different layers and some magic stones. I love it. 🤩 The colorful one is awesome too. Can't wait to see more experiments.

I love the brown one! It'd be perfect for an environmental science-themed soap month! It's basically sedimentary rock with those layers. Imagine a bunch of different soaps inspired by different minerals, fossils, and rock formations, or even those epic rainbow lakes at Yosemite Park.
Also, a note to the editor: Sometimes the music is very abrupt and loud but only lasts like 10 seconds, which feels more interruptive than entertaining. To make the transitional music a bit more smooth, keeping the same song for the entire video and then turning up the volume for the montages would make for a better sense of continuity, which would feel more seamless and less abrupt. I do enjoy the music you pick out, however, cause they're kinda pop and fit Katie's personality big time lol

It's pretty in its own way. Just not bright. But the pastel rainbow is bright and beautiful.
Never would've thought of that but yeah it totally does look like an old faded treasure map!
I would LOVE to see the "ugly" bar redone with similar colors that work, it was gorgeous before... before.
That said, it isn't the worst, I could definitely see why someone would like it... but I'd still love to see it done and the colors turn out as you intended.
The rainbow one is amazing!! I love the drippy technique inside and on the top, such a cool effect!!!
KATIE!!! It is NOT hideous. The soap looks like ACTUAL agate. Real earthy gemstones, minerals, crystal are often these colors. This is great!!
I actually really like that caramel brown/tan frosting with the indigo colored stones and mica drizzle. I think it's a super calming palate. The inside, maybe not so much XD.

The discolouration was really surprising though. That frosting looked absolutely amazing, with the shimmering blues and purples. I would never have guessed that was the one that would fail.
The "ugly" soap give me like a chocolate caramel classy sundae vibe. Idk the frosting looks like caramel and the inside looks pretty too! Sure if what you wanted was blue yes it definitely not that but still really pretty!
I'm not even ashamed to say that I love the 'ugly' soap. I wouldn't be opposed to a different color, but it's beautiful. That pouring technique was everything. I dig the other soap just as much. 💝🇹🇹

The "ugly" soap reminds me of chocolate ice cream or a cupcake, with that odd, dulled brownish color mixed with whatever other flavoring it includes. I think it's neat!

The accidentally brown soap reminds me of striped jasper! Very cool pattern, even if the colors were unintentional. Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn 😂 I love the rainbow cloud soap! It would be super cool to do a shooting star in a sparkly night sky, maybe with some purple/blue nebula marbling. Gorgeous!
The rainbow soap really makes me think of nyan cat, like, a rainbow, and the frosting looks like a cloud, and the heart on top is such a piece of emo/scene kid 2009 aesthetic

I gotta say, the "ugly" one really brought me back to my childhood, going cave exploring with my big brother and collecting rocks.
I think the 'ugly' one is so cool! It looks like natural desert rock colors and I love the contrast on the top of the blue stone and the muddy brown ripples!
I'm going to be real honest this video has made me feel so freaking good. I've been having a rough time lately and seeing a longer video with more of the mixing/pouring and all the pretty colors just makes me feel so relaxed. The first soap, the frosting is absolutely stunning, so shiny and vibrant.... and then omg the transformation to the brown, that was so surprising!
I really liked the “blue” colour morph soap not just the design I actually liked the colours the earthy tones to it and honestly if u wasn’t expecting blues u would of loved it too I think!
That rainbow is everything tho 🌈
I'm from Utah and the "ugly" one actually reminds me a ton of the landscape 😊 the rocks are like gems and geodes in the bedrock and stuff. The "cute" one reminds me of the 90s, and as a 90s kid, I love it!!

I'm honestly floored at how HIDEOUS every single one of those colors looked in that loaf! Maybe you should sell these as a duet: beautiful rainbows and the glittery beast LMAO. But seriously, I really like the drippy pastel paired with black, that's really cool.

That blue to brown color morph gave you a soap that looks like layers at an archaeological dig. With the right embeds it's a dinosaur lover's dream!
The way the colors on the ugly one changed almost became a red orange yellow situation made me really want a sunset soap!
I love these product testing videos - always so much fun to see the process in action. I kinda liked the top of the brown soap. I thought the brown with the blue stone and glittery bits looked quite nice. The inside though. Rough. The design looked good but those colours made it hard to appreciate the design! The rainbow soap was just joy, start to finish. Love your work Katie. I'm now making my own soaps because of you and it's the most fun I've had in years!

That color morph is indeed atrocious but the rainbow bar makes up for it. I love how it turned out! And the little lava rock hearts are too cute with it

BUT! I actually loved the ugly soap 🙈 it’s so Arizona desert/earth tones/soft and gentle looking. Plus the pattern is spectacular. The “one pot wonder” pour is my absolute favorite, my closet is full of soaps poured with that technique because it never stops being fun to see the results lol
I actually really dig that "failed" bar. Reminds me of the scrap yarns I was using when I first learned to crochet. Though that first little blanket I made was ugly as anything, I have fond memories of the time spent with my grandmother when she was teaching me. Though that blanket was not pretty, it holds some wonderful and beautiful memories, making it precious. Seeing that bar brought a smile to my face because of the memories it brought back.
Surprisingly, I quite like the brown soaps, I love the layered browns and rusts and grays. It's like, layers of earth! With an earthy smell and without the glitter, that would just be an earth soap. I'd definitely love that soap in my bathroom.
The "ugly" one could be planet soap. Like you diggging deep into earth and find different layers and some magic stones. I love it. 🤩
The colorful one is awesome too.

I got a very Dune-esque feeling from the first soap. Second one is so pretty! *EDIT* Hear me out hear me out - the planet soap balls in with the rainbow road soap. It would be so cool to see bright planets and stars in the back.

I aughed so hard when she unveiled that "blue" bar - it was 100% my aesthetic before the cure but DEAR LORD. ROFL. This video was fun!
