  • The 43 Assam Rifles arrested four individuals at Dimapur Railway Station, alleging ties to the NSCN-K (YA) group. Those arrested include Botai Wangsu, an alleged insurgent, his wife Phamsa, and two civilians-Tahngao Konyak, an executive member of the Konyak Union, and Nyemphoa Konyak, president of the Neitong Village Students' Union. Botai was in Dimapur for medical treatment and sought assistance from Tahngao to reach the station. Nyemphoa, also in town for care, contacted Botai to travel together. The FIR, filed by Hav. Pulak Das, claims the group was involved in an extortion network, a statement that has been widely challenged as baseless. Supporters argue that medical records confirm Botai's intentions in Dimapur. Community leaders are calling for an investigation into the arrests, urging authorities to reconsider the allegations against the individuals.
