  • Watch this leather and oak barber chair from the 1920's undergo an authentic restoration to treble it's value. The ripped leather on the seat is replaced, the wood is stripped, and the headrest restored to it's original style.

This gentleman is a true Artist, as much as any writer, musician, etc.

I wish i had hair like Alex.
I wish I had hair at all.
    My head resembles Drew's.
Round and smooth like a ball.

I don't understand why he couldn't take the seat out completely the mechanism would have allowed that

The mechanism wouldn`t allow the seat to be removed do to the the way it had been fixed in, that is why I struggled to upholster it!

Why does Craig remove tacks by hammering at them with a chisel? Doesn’t he know there are tools especially designed for the job?

I notice with most of the restorers on here, they look far to clumsy to get the results shown.

What I don’t understand is that, like with a lot of buys £150 + each resto guy must be £500+ each nowhere near equals the sale tag

I thought drew didn't like getting restored pieces? So he doesn't like it to be restored, so he can restore it?

i didn't think that restoration was up to drews standards? uneven placement of the studs and very shabby trimming of the reupholstered leather!!

I disagree. Studs were unevenly placed for starters. That’s the way it was with lots of these old leather chairs. Part of the charm. Nothing wrong with the leather upholstry. Best possible repair, trying to match the old leather. Thin leather is a bitch to work with, guy did a top job.

My god how sick it is to listen to this boring chatter. I thought I was gonna go out of mind with endless Minutiae! On and on and on I was pulling my hair out with one hand, as I only have the one.
