One of my favourite bands, bought this aged 13, for the A-side, but this is also up there! The band are truly original with a never copied sound. Respect!
I love the crackles. I think we lost something special with the disappearance of vinyl. This song takes me back. Listening when I was a very young kid, not sure what I was listening to but at the same time knowing that this was something special .
I've always preferred this version. It seems more like Stuart's style ... the way he keeps the guitar rhythm going through the verses, wheras the newer version is more punctuated, and overladen with flashy 'jobson-esque' flourishes ! The solo in this one seems more inkeeping with the mood of the song too. :o)
This is way way superior to the version on Absolute Game. Haven't heard this version for years. The original line-up. So pleased this is finally on here....thanks !
Thanks for posting. The Captain Oi version of Days in Europa has the version from The Absolute Game. I was disappoint. Haven't heard this version for decades. Nice work.
Belated thanks for uploading. I first heard this on the Kid Jensen Show & bought the double pack-when The Absolute Game was released I found the version on that to be inferior.
Always preferred this version but maybe that's just because it's the first one I heard of the two. Can't knock either version really but I still rate this as better....and with it being the "B" side of Masquerade, that was a seriously well-spent bit of pocket money as I recall.
Add the “Aftermath Dub” and away ye go, you’re in Skidsville! Plenty of guitar references in Stuart’s playing from both his own style and other influences such as Bill Nelson.
Check out Captain Oi records. All Skids singles and b-sides on two cd's to be released soon. This original version of Out Of Town will be on it. Great song !
The bluesiest solo Stuart ever did.
Great guitarist 🎸
I am now going to pogo around my living room....RIP Stuart.
Wow, brilliant

It's been 39 years since I last heard this. A great chorus/riff. This needs a remix!
