  • Part 4 of this faith formation video on identifying Unforgiveness, Catholic speaker Ken Yasinski examines how to identify bitterness and resentment in our life. Are you a bitter person? Most people know forgiving others is the right thing to do, however many do not recognize unforgiveness in their lives, simple because they don't know what to look for.
In this faith formation video, we go through a check list of potential signs of unforgiveness, in the first step towards forgiving others.

This actually solidified my thought on forgiveness for others, if I really did forgive.

This is an excellent video which shows all of us how to do the hard spiritual work of forgiving especially when a person has been hurt on a very deep level. Looking forward to the next video. Thank you for sharing this!

    Quick answer:
All sin is rooted in pride.
Get rid of pride, quell the ego
    Live a humble life

It is hard to forgive someone you love so much and betrayed you in another level.
    I find it hard

I have been betrayed by close ones : i have been able to forgive them overtime by asking myself why i was holding on anger about this person or situation.
Now by the grace of God it's easier for me to pray for my enemies with the help of the holy spirit.
Forgive yourself also (get rid of doubt that you have value and not good enough /get rid of the frustration/sadness /bitterness and guilt feeling).
The devil will keep the bad action or hurting words they told you but you must be strong and fight against those thought by meditating the word of God.

What happens when you have invited these people to your home, asked forgiveness, mentioned peace and moving on, and still they are giving you the silent treatment...no response, no call back, no e-mail, cut you off of face book as friends, do not come for Christmas, Easter, or any family gatherings? And they are immediate family...son, daughter-in-law and grand children. It's very hurtful..but we keep inviting them...keep sending birthday cards, which are returned to our mail box, etc.

Don Sally yes that would be hurtful. And very difficult. I am sorry to hear of your experience.
We are always called to forgive, but not always called to trust people who show no intention of changing bad behaviour. We also sometimes need to place boundaries in our life to protect ourselves and our peace. The next video on Friday may deal with some of your concerns. I will pray for your situation this evening.

What happens? Pray for them. That's about all you can do at this point. Don't waste your time reaching out to people who don't respond, it may give them a power trip anyway.

  • @popeye8427

I can't pray that prayer. But I did offer a Rosary for my enemy. I didn't feel like I meant it but hey I threw up there to God how I could. I hope I got at least 1 point for that one. Lol.

How the fuck do you expect me to just "get over it"?!
I despise the way I've been treated. I choose to pray for the people who hurt me, to not hold onto the hate.... But the hurt is still there. It's bullshit wishful thinking to believe the hurt ever goes away.
