Why would the media ever show you how Libya is?? Gaddafi probably would've held onto Libya, just like Assad has in Syria, if it wasn't for the NATO airstrikes. Imagine the media, who work in favor of certain politicians, having to show you the complete ineptitude of "experts" at best, maliciousness at worst.
@Ebola Extra I agree with most of what you said but the oil is being stolen, the people selling it are not the Libyan people. Those selling it are put in place by foreign powers. The money from oil doesn’t go back to the Libyan people. These so called leaders selling it are thieves.
Pebbs800 you dont get it, gaddafi told the world to give him a month to end the tensions in libya, but by march 15th he had multiple speeches saying he will bomb bneghazi and every corner the rebels are in. thats when NATO was involved and thats how they saved lives initially. but after that they gave us no security which is what led to the lives that are lost currently
I lived in Libya, as a [English] child, in the pre-Gaddafi King Idris days, as my father was in the small RAF contingent supporting the vast US military presence there then. The US base, Wheelas, was amazing - they had every luxury they considered normal, including imported soil to make a golf course and such like. We had a high walled compound, next to the US Embassy, and my mother traded cheap cigarettes with the gardeners there for some of the fresh fruit and veg they grew ! Once a week, dozens of camels were herded past to the slaughter yard. We explored loads of different places; it is beautiful, but I really only remember our times on the beaches. Stay safe, Nick.
We lived 6 years in Tripoli in the sixties. My husband worked at Wheelus Air Base. Best time of my life. Loved the climate. Our children were born during that time.
I've now watched your North Korea, your Aghanistan, your Iran and now your Libyan videos. It's impossible to describe how much you've taught me about these countries, and how many preconceptions have been shattered. Thank you so much. Yess someone is finally paying attention to us! This country is truly very nice without all the war and stuff! I'm happy that someone is showing people that it's not as bad as people think
What are Libyans thoughts on the Qaddafi situation? Do they believe the revolution was natural or manufactured? Were things better or worse under Mommar Qaddafi?

@@horyzengaming3935 this is pure whataboutism, it isnt an argument that addresses the actions by Ghaddafi. Ghaddafi massacred protesters, he invaded Chad and Egypt, he was a bad guy. Whether your government did bad stuff does not negate his own actions, nor makes him a "good guy"

NICK, I always say this for each series, "You are an amazing journalist." I have been watching since close to the beginning of your channel and your transformation is awe-inspiring. Safe travels my friend.
I have a very close friend who is from Libya who has told me all about it. We aren't in touch much these days but he always used to tell me he would take me there to visit the beaches because Libya has amazing beaches (this was before the fall of Gaddafi). Most of his family still live there and I often think about them. This is a fascinating video, I'm so glad you made it! By the way, I met lots of his friends who were also from Libya and they were ALL lovely, generous, welcoming people!
I remember going to Malta with family on vacation back in 2000 and not only was the food diabolical there, the Maltese came across unfriendly, cold and calculating and very adept at ripping people(tourists) off. But we got lucky when we discovered a little gem of a takeaway Restaurant, owned by a friendly and kind Libyan (a migrant restauranter) who served some amazing Mediterranean food, sometimes giving us discounted prices as we regularly ate there. He was also helpful in recommending places of interest to visit there - I guess perhaps, things may be different in Malta today but we never went back after that trip, though we often reminisce about the warm hearted Libyan, with very fond memories. After watching this, I hope to be able to visit this very 'misunderstood' country called Libya.
yep maltese people, in my experience, have giving me hell, keep trying to rip me off. I live there today. I'm libyan, so very biased, and ill say they are much friendlier. Maybe they lack other virtues, like education, but kindness is not one.

I'm a bit disappointed that you went through the desert and did not witness some of Libya's most breathtaking sights. Hopefully you'll get to see more in the coming days! Also, thank you for this. Libya doesn't get enough impartial media coverage.
No I am very glad he went to visit the desert. This part of Libya is really never seen, and nearly no videos exist of Libya's Sahara. Photos of it are rare, and of course there are practically no street view images of it either. Documentation of this part of Libya is fascinating, and I am incredibly glad he ventured into the "unknown" for us westerners, only able to visit Libya through media.
@@otanihidetora5221 all I am saying is he trekked through the desert without many stops or seeing beautiful sites such as the oasis. Hopefully there will be more to come from his trip.

I am half Libyan and trust me Libya could have been one of the richest countries. Even much better than Dubai. But the US didnt let Libyans live in peace. They stole the oil and they made fake wars. They ruined everything. Literally. Also you need to communicate more with the locals. They are super chill and nice. The food also is amazing. This country is beautiful but....
Thank you so much for showing an amazing documentation of Libya! As a Libyan who still resides in Libya myself, a lot of times I find myself wanting to leave the country. It’s definitely not the best nor is it safe or peaceful. I don’t know how long this will drag on and if we will ever get to live like normal people, but it’s still my home country and I still have that soft spot for it. Thank you for finding and showing the beauty in it.
I spent my youth in Tripoli, 1963-1970. It's an enduring sadness for my friends and family that we've not been able to return to visit this wonderful country and it's friendly people. I can't begin to describe the amazing experiences we had there. Maybe things will change enough in the future for a trip back "home". Inshalla.
I have lived in Tripoli for 8 months when the civil war started. Beautiful country.. With friendliest people.. Considered Pakistani as their brothers ❤️
With all respect it’s wrong statement; Libya fall apart by civil war. The civil war is not the cause it’s the result of foreign intervention and interference. The same pattern all over in the region . What we see today is continuation of the same policy; divide et impera.
Dont forget, you can not live in this world without being influenced by others. Libya did bring it onto itself aswel (naturally as any manmade interaction). And Libya even if better under Gaddafi - was either a lesser or greater evil, if your actualy aware of factual history. Blaming Libyas downfall because of foreigners is like blaming the world for existing. The say "never pick a lesser between two evil".
It started in Balkans, former Yugoslavia, then went on in the middle east, so called "Arab spring" en later on the same modus operandi in Syria. And we all know who is the brain master behind this "revolutions".
Shurkan for sharing Libya The beauty and I can assure you and everyone: The best are the Libyan people The country what I miss every day. Seeing the video .... I had to cry Again thank you for sharing

Media is all about lies and propaganda, never take them serious
Why would the media ever show you how Libya is??
Gaddafi probably would've held onto Libya, just like Assad has in Syria, if it wasn't for the NATO airstrikes. Imagine the media, who work in favor of certain politicians, having to show you the complete ineptitude of "experts" at best, maliciousness at worst.
Hearing Hillary Clinton say anything about her being involved in saving lives is hilarious.
At least she saved lives
@@lukedstaten she destabilized Libya for oil money which resulted in the deaths of thousands of people
Very true 🤣🤣🤣

Love Libya. Used to live there 3 years up until the invasion by our countries. Never had any issues being a British man up until then. Free healthcare and was treated like a king. Good people there and Gaddafi was a good man to his people, we created a monster by wrongfully invading that country. Our western media told lies fed by our governments.
