    I have been considering selling my bass boat to get one of these. I have an Outlaw 11.5 and love kayak fishing. I have been using my kayak WAY more than my boat. The pedal yak would let me cover more water and hold position easier. I have gotten good at using the wind and my anchoring trolley with a drop anchor or drift sock....but with a pedal and rudder system...I could do even better and cover more water. I love the exercise from paddling but it would be easier to cover water or to perform in current. I tried fishing in current with my Outlaw and that was BRUTAL...especially turning in current and paddling upstream.

    Nice review. So how has the 360 drive held up? I am looking at upgrading my yak from a Feel Free. I am looking at the PA12 360 or the PA12 with standard Mirage 180 turbo fins. I've seen some reviews on the 360 having issues for heavy use. I'm not a tourney guy, just hobby fishing.

      I have not had a single issue with the 360, like anything else just take care of it.

    I was reading in your podcast where your hobie 360 2021 had problems during a tournament, would you explain what happened and how do you feel about the now ?

    I am thinking about upgrading from my Bonafide SS127 to a Hobie Pro Angler. Curious on why you went with the PA12 and not the PA14? I'm just starting to do my research on these kayaks and still trying to determine if the 12 or 14 would be a better fit for me.

    • @SeriousAnglerBassFishing

      Only real difference is room, the 12 suits me perfect and easier to cartop!

    • @nj_angler_kjb
      @nj_angler_kjb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SeriousAnglerBassFishing Gotcha, yeah that's what I've been reading for the most part on forums. That the PA14 obviously has more room, which I don't need. Some comments about the 14 being a little more stable, but not that many other differences. Appreciate the response.

      I went from an SS127 to PA 12 360 and I’m 6’3” 200lbs.. love it... checked out 14 in person and seemed bigger than necessary. I car top. Thought about putting a bow mount gps lock motor on the bonafide but I went PA12 instead and I think the deck layout is much better all around. Still might add a bow mount motor in the future but with the 360 drive you can definitely hold spots offshore pretty well for dropshotting and stuff.

    • @nj_angler_kjb
      @nj_angler_kjb 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robbiezambelli6378 I currently car top but I'm going to be purchasing a pickup so transporting will be a lot easier, not that it's tough now with the Bonafide. I fish smaller sized reservoirs for the most part so I think the PA12 would probably suit me the best. I'm going to have to check them out in person like you did and probably make a decision then. Thanks!

    how much play is in your 360 handle? I have been on the water twice in mine and I can wiggle the handle quite a bit, when I actually turn the handle I have to go about 15-20 degrees past when I want the arrow to point and then I line the handle up after the fact. I also havent found an answer anywhere online, but can you control the rudder with the skeg stowed? Mine is hard to turn and I hear a ton of tension on the cables coming from inside the hull

    • @SeriousAnglerBassFishing
      @SeriousAnglerBassFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would release your rudder tension knob that’s inside on the left wall. The handles can be lose at times for sure. You can tighten them but the most part it can be a lil loose. And yes you can control the rudder with the diet stowed! I believe you turn faster.

    How smooth would you say is the 360 steering handle? Mine seems quite stiff. I have to jog the paddles for the sweet spot where the handle will spin with more ease. Thank you!

    @phillipsmith1629 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Mind me asking how tall you are? I’m another guy trying to choose between the 12 and 14. Don’t need the extra space and love the idea of more maneuverability with a smaller boat but being 6’4 I want to make sure it would work stability wise

      Hey, I'm 6-4" too. I couldnt decide so I bought both the 12 and the 14ft. The 12 seems easier to maneuver. Honestly it was fine for me. My wife uses it and I use the 14. The differences are subtle. So far we've only used on calm lakes. But they both cut through the wind when peddling. I stand sometimes and the 14 is mildly more stable.

    Bailey, just picked up the same boat and after the first trip out the handle that turns the 360 is loose. So when it is in the forward facing position there’s slack left and right by a significant amount? Is there an adjustment screw that resolves that? Any help would be great!

      @@SeriousAnglerBassFishing I get what your saying. I do like that the oldtown drive is almost problem free. A broken pdl drive can really ruin a vacation trip to a lake... Also the Hobie kayaks seem to get "stress fractures" often enough. Lots of youtube videos out there on it.
