- I think it's always important to continue learning and trying new things. Some of the photographers I follow have been shooting with Mylar and I wanted to try it out.
For this session, I bought a roll of Mylar from Amazon. I think it was about $40 for a 4ft x 30ft roll.
I invited Selah to come to the studio and we just shot some photos to see what all the fuss was about. Needless to say, I absolutely loved it and I loved the results. Check them out for yourself in this latest BTS!
Thank you Jason for the helpful BTS! Good luck!
I swear I wish you had this during the Barbie craze. This shoot was crazy good. Those colors popped!!!
Man for your first time you did good. Now I gotta buy a roll
That was AWESOME!!! I've never seen that done before. I was so stunned by the video that I asked my wife to watch. I am primarily a landscape enthusiest photographer. But I learn so much from watching other types of photography. As they say in Chase Academy (a WWE NXT reference) this is a teachable moment for me. I fully intend to watch more videos of this style of photography. Also Selah is a terrific model. Not only is she beautiful, she's extremely photogenic.
These are awesome shots! The way the gelled lights reflected off the mylar was perfect!
I must say WOW. They mylar really kicked it up a notch. Great job on the blending of the backdrop and mylar floor.
Beautiful shots!! 🔥🔥🔥
Great shots with a beautiful model! I love it! Thanks!
TIP: Move the lights to the outer corners of the paper for more refelction on the backdrop, then grid your key to prevent it from washing out the reflections. Use your modeling lamps to preview the reflections to help you with placement.
Thanks Greg!!!
@@J.Allen_Photography I forgot to mention, grid those 7" reflectors as well (60 degree honeycomb works well) to better control the lighting or you'll be splashing light all over the place.
very nice work and a good idea
very well made, I love the result
Nice experiment Jason, I will steal your technology )))) I love watching your channel because you write your camera settings, attach the results, every shootings is interesting. Keep up the good work, I will support you with likes and comments)))
Love the Mylar and look you got. I was disappointed that you didn’t describe any bit of your lighting setup!
I agree with you. I will do another video because I too realized that I didn’t actually give any good info for that.
I just get to shooting and forget sometimes.
Another fantastic video Jason. Reminds me that I did something similar a number of years ago, I must have a look back to see if I can find those images. I must try and do another shoot like this. Great work from you both.
Jason you did a fantastic work! This looks amazing! Jason could you please advise me on what is the battery pack or powerbank photographers use for outdoor photography?. I'm starting and I trust you enough to make my beginner question. Thank you, please keep doing this amazing photography work.
Those are soooooo cool! I have a large roll of mylar - now I need to play!
great!!! as allways i will love you tell us how you put the lights and the key light for Selah, thank you so much for all your videos!
Imma be trying some of that soon
Nice video.
Awesome shots! Is the gray backgrounds better option for this? Or just what you chose
I chose gray because a friend told me gray. I’ve since used white twice and I think I like the white better, but it’s a softer look.
Amazing ❤
Was this a four light setup? 2 light aimed down at the Mylar, 1 rim light and 1 key light? For your first time, you nailed it!
Thank you!
Yes. A 4 light set. I need to do another video for it and show how.
so good
Nice
Hey didn’t realize you’re my height lol. Feels good to be not the only short photographer 😂
