The tang police, they live inside of my head
The tang police, they come to me in my bed
The tang police, they're coming to arrest me, oh no

Thanks for the video. It does seem like the online community regarding pets in general is insane lol. No matter what you’re doing it’s immoral now. Whether it be fish, birds, reptiles, etc. The fact is if you did really truly care about these animals you wouldn’t keep them period. Like you said, a foot here or there won’t change the fact that it’s not the ocean and you will never recreate that in your house. The fact is these things are pets we keep for our own amusement so yea use your best judgement. Dont keep a 3 foot eel in a 30 gallon tank. It just seems like common sense.

I’m curious what size the tank in this video is. I have a regal and tomini in my 75g. Both are about 3.5” long and get along fine and they’re both colored very nice and healthy

Roughly the same as yours. 88g

I've always thought that argument was ridiculous. So if I have a 2" Tang in a 55 gallon, 4ft aquarium, it has 24 body lengths of movement left to right. But if you have a 8" tang in a 125 gallon 6ft tank that has 9 body lengths of movement left to right, you're doing way better. It makes no sense to me.

I stick to one rule and one rule only. A active tanf such as a regal maxes at a foot long 12 inches and requires a 72" 6ft... what i rule by and whats worked perfectly is that a tang should have 6x the tank length of its max size. A purple tang would require a 5ft while a yellow or scopas requires a 4ft. A convict and powder blue if kept properly would only need a 4ft too. When you have more than one thought you need to care for the mutliple tangs and stop the fighting and your good....

You make all valid points and I do agree mostly. Let me start by saying I have 2 92 gallon corner tanks with a tang in each for years now. The thing for me is yes you can do it but should you. The problem is a vast majority of reefers are not like us who have had several tanks over decades. Mist get fish and coral without doing any research and end up killing everything or they just leave the hobby in a year or two. I tell people to not put tang in a smaller tank because I want then to have greater long term success and only cuz I know that 80% of people that say they are gonna upgrade never do. That ends up being bad for the animal and we don't want that. Great points though. Keep up the great videos.

I do agree with you especially when it comes to newer reefers. Definitely need to use greater judgment than a veteran reefer when it comes to stocking. Thanks so much for the support 😁

but one could argue advice like yours assists in people leaving the hobby by restricting and making things seem complicated when there really not have you not concidered the people like your self drive newbies away?

Hi RRR Reefer- your tank is beautiful and I really appreciate the content! I would love to have multiple tangs in my 125 g. I’m trying to be thoughtful because I hear so much about tang to tang aggression. Yours seem so happy! Do you think the order in which they’re added makes the biggest difference? Feeding? Rockscape? Tips for success? 🐠 🫧 much appreciated

It's more about the size of tangs you buy and making sure you introduce them at the same time.

Hi sir, I know what's wrong with your clowns. You can give me credit if you like. I find most people don't and then make a video of what I said...
Anyways brooklynella disease really sucks. It most targets clownfish and few other fish. It took me so much money to figure out what was the problem. The solution is to dip all your new fish in methylene blue before you add them to the tank. If you want to go the extra mile you can also dip them in malachite green, make sure you use an air stone with the green* solution.
    Best,
    Henry
Oh, and I would dip your current infected clown in the methylene blue solution immediately. No joke.

Thanks for the comment. I've had Brooke before. It usually presents with white mucus coats and skin falling off. These clowns all looked great. Just no more clowns for me.

@@rrrreefer9721 @RRR Reefer you are confusing it with a fungal infection. If anything it looks more different. Either way I would dip all your fish in the solutions I said. Either way, I know eventually everyone will see these words and make a video about dipping the fish in blue and green solution, I know this kind, and not giving credit.

@@HCBCHEMISTRY not sure what you mean by not giving credit? Please look up the symptoms of brooklynella. Again, I dealt with this issue many years ago. The symptoms definitely don't present as brook.

I’ve got only 6 tangs currently in my 8ft 320g and the purple always makes the yellow stay on the left side of the tank allll day, until lights out and they both sleep in the same spot together at night on the right side… they are just weird lol.

I wouldn’t suggest moving fish around to tank to tank, I think they should be kept in maybe a few and size up, I don’t agree with giving fish away tho, same with any pets, you shouldn’t just get rid of them because they are too big, where do all these big fish go then?
