  • City MTB cross country ride around the largest European capital city park, in Phoenix Park, Dublin, Ireland.
Are you busy with a city life and cannot find enough time to go to your local bike park or MTB trails, but wish to be a better rider? Go and explore for mountain biking trails around you.
This time I set myself a XC MTB route, which is great for riding on a busy day and training between rides up in the mountains. Rides like this are perfect way to polish your bike-handling skills and get in shape, before you hit harder trails, so you can enjoy the outdoors and get more trail confidence.
I hope you enjoy this little adventurous spin with me and hopefully it will inspire you to set your own.

You didn't need to go through the station at the start. Get off the canal at Ashtown would make more sense. Cool video though.

Ah this looks fantastic to go with my daughter! You wouldn't have a strava route for this by any chance?

Hi, sorry no. However you can easily follow my route. I started at the gate near Half way house, from there go immediately right and keep as much to the right between the tress as you can. It will take you to the gate at Castleknock. Again keep right close to the wall and it will bring you to the the entrance to Farmleigh [good spot for pit sop/coffee/cake - if opened]. From there still keep right and you get to Furry Glen. After you go down the tur right, up the hill and ride across the road to take the first path, so yo have the road on the right. Head toward St Mary's Hospital, from there keeping the road on your right toward the magazine forth. There go down the hill and pedal up the Wellington Testimonial. Instead of cycling path I took the path on the left right behind the tress. Once you get to the roundabout go straight toward the Zoo Buss parking, after it tur left toward the zoo entrance. Pass the entrance. From there go right toward the carpark for zoo visitors and left near All Ireland Polo Club. Keep right behind it and it will take you to the President's estate. From there you can take any route you find adventurous to the Papas cross and US Embassy. I have also posted another vid from sightseeing Phoenix Park that may give you a good insight to my route with bonus spot at the end :)
Hope it helps a bit and you will have a great ride.
