- In Punjab and Haryana, farmers have been protesting for weeks now against the new ordinances bought about by the Modi govt. But why is it happening? In this video, I interview food and agriculture expert Devinder Sharma to find out why Indian farmers are disappointed with the ordinances. I also explain the agriculture process in India since independence which includes the APMC. Agriculture Produce Market Committees also known as Mandis.

Despite being in Maharashtra, Local Marathi media is covering the farmer's protest and Maratha reservation news.
That's what the people who manage the media wants... Farmers' issue must remain local. National issue is Rhea-Kangana-Sushant etc. Even the ongoing LAC dispute is not "national" enough nowadays for our mainstream media.

📢 ਅਲਰਟ - 25 ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਬੰਦ 1ਮੰਡੀ ਖਤਮ 2 ਵਪਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਟੋਰ ਕਰਨ ਤੇ ਰੇਟ ਤਹਿ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਖੁੱਲ ਚਾਹੇ ਓ ਦੁਗਨੇ ਰੇਟ ਤੇ ਦੁੱਧ ,ਫਲ,ਸਬਜ਼ੀ ,ਅਨਾਜ , ਦਾਲ ਸਬ ਬੇਚੇ ਬਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਵੇ ਅਲ੍ਲੁ , ਗੰਡੇ ਵੇਚੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਸਟੋਰ ਕਰ ਕ ੇ ਮਤਲਬ ਸਿਧਿ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਲੁੱਟ --- ਕੁਜ ਕ ਗੱਲਾਂਂ 1- ਜੇ ਕੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੋਈ ਰੌਲਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਕੇਸ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜਿੱਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਸ਼ਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬਣਾਈ ਕੈਮੇਟੀ ਕੋਲ ਜਾਣ ਗ ਤੇ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨੇ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਦੇ ਹੱਕ ਵਿਚ ਦੇਣਾ ਸਬੱ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ 2 - ਤੇ ਫਸਲ ਚੈੱਕ ਇਕ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਟੀਮ ਕਰੇ ਗਈ ਤੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਿੱਸੇ ਔਖਾ ਸਮੇ ਪੈਸੇ ਕੌਣ ਦੇਵੋ ਗਾ ਫਿਰ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਇਹ ਕੰਪਨਯਿਆ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੈਸੇ ਵੀ ਦੇਣ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਣ ਆੜਤੀਏ ਵਾਂਗੂ ਸ਼ਰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਕਯੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਬਿੱਲ ਪੂਰਾ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਪੱਖ ਪੁਰਦਾ , ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਅਮਬਾਨੀ ਤੇ ਅਡਾਨੀ ਵਰਗਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਹਿਸਾ ਮੋਗਾ ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਰੋਡ ਤੇ ਗੁਦਾਮ ਵੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਏ ਓਹਨਾ --- ਰਣਨੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਹੈ ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ - ਜਿਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਅੈਮ ਅਸ਼ ਪੀ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿਚ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਵਾਲੇ 1800-1900 ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵੱਧ ਰੇਟ 2200 ਦੇਣ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲਆਉਣ ਲਯੀ ਫਿਰ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਰੇਟ ਕਰਕੇ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਚੂ ਤੇ ਫਿਰ 3-4 ਸਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਂ ਮੰਡੀ ਅਾਪੀ ਮੁਕ ਜੁ ਅੰਤ ਵਿਚ ਇਕੋ ਬੰਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਗਾ ਪ੍ਰਾੲੀਵੇਟ ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਓਹਨਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਰਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੁੱਲ ਘਟ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਤੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ 1800-1900 ਮਿਲਦਾ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਜਾਉ ਗਾ ਤੇ 1500- ਵਾਲੀ ਮੱਕੀ ਜਿਵੇ 800 ਵਿਚ ਵਿਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਇੰਜ ਹੀ ਕਣਕ - ਝੋਨਾ 1800-1900 ਵਾਲਾ 800 ਨੂੰ ਵੇਚ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਆਵੇ ਗਾ - ਕੰਪਨੀ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਅੰਤ ਪਛਤਾਵੇ ਗਾ ) ਗੰਨੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਲ ਹੋ ਜੁ ਬਕਾਇਆ ਲੈਣ ਲਯੀ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਨੇ -ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਰਾਜ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਦੇ ਹੱਕ ਵੀ ਖੋਹ ਲਏ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਸੀ ਉਸਦਾ ਵੀ ਬਿੱਲ ਆਵੇ ਗਾ ਹੱਲੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਂ ਮੀਠਾ ਪੋਚਾ ਲੱਗ - ਜ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ ਆ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਖਰੀਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੰਦ ਹੋਣੀ ਤਾਂ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਕਿਊ ਲਿਆਂਦੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ? ਜ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਕਰ ਹੈ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਸੌਖਾ ਜਾ ਹੱਲ ਹੈ - ਮੋਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫਸਲ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਤਹਿ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੱਕ ਦੇਣ ਜਿਵੇ ਸਬੱ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਗੋਲ ਗੱਪੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਵੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਖਰਚੇ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮੁੱਲ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਜਾ ਫਿਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਇਕ ਲਿਸਟ ਦੇਵੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਫਸਲ ਖਰੀਦੇ ਗੀ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਲ 5-6 ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਘਟ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮਰਜੀ ਫਸਲ ਬੀਜ ਵਾ ਲਵੇ ਫਿਰ ਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਸਰ ਕਰਜਾ ਚੜੇ ਨਾ ਆੜਤੀਏ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖਣ ਦੀ ਲੋਡ ਸਬ ਕੁਜ ਹੱਲ ਹੋ ਜੁ ਗੱਲ ਤਾਂ ਕੁਜ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੌਲਾ ਤਾਂ ਕੁਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੁਜ ਨਹੀ ਕਹਿਣ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ 20 ਫਸਲਾ ਦੀ ਆਮ ਸ ਪੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਤਹਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਰ ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਸਿਰਫ ਕਣਕ ਝੋਨਾ ਖਰੀਦ ਦੀ ਆ ਹੋਰ ਕੁਜ ਨਹੀ ** ਵੀਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਫੈਕਟਰੀ ਚਾਹੇ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਥੇ ਮਰਜੀ ਲੱਗੇ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਸਲ 1 ਨੰਬਰ ਲੈਣੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ 3-4 ਸਾਲ ਬਾਅਦ ਓਹਨਾ ਕਮੀਆਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਕਢਣੀਆਂ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਵਿਚ ਿਕੳੁਂਂ ਕੀ ਫਿਰ ਕਮੀਆਂ ਗਿਨਾ ਕੇ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਘਟ ਮੁੱਲ ਵਿਚ ਲਾਇ ਸਕਣ ਗੇ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਓਹਨਾ ਦਾ ਫਾਇਦਾ ਜ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਕਵੇ ਗਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅੱਗਰੀਮੇਂਟ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਦੇਯੋ ਤਾਂ ਓਹਨਾ ਕਮੀਆਂ ਗਿਨਾ ਦੇਣੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਚੁੱਪ ਦੂਜੀ ਗੱਲ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਰ ਹੀ ਫਾਇਦਾ ਜੇ ਕਚਾ ਮਾਲ (ਫ਼ਸਲ ) ਸਸਤੀ ਮਿਲੁ ਜ ਕਚਾ ਮਾਲ ਮਹਿੰਗਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਨੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਚੀਜ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਣੌਣੀ ਉਹ ਮਹਿੰਗੀ ਬੰਨੁ ਤੇ ਮਹਿੰਗੀ ਚੀਜ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਕਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੇ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਘਾਟਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਯੂਪੀ ਵਰਗੀ ਹੋ ਜੁ - ਪਿਛਲੇ 70 ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਹਰ ਇਕ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਲੁਟਿਆ ਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਚੰਗੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਬੇਵਕੁਫੀ ਹੈ ਹੁਣ ਸਿਰਫ ਇਕੋ ਰਸਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਜੂਨੀਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਰਲ ਕੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕਰੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਨ ਲਯੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਰਹੋ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਚਲੋ ਕਿਸਾਨ , ਆੜਤੀਆਂ , ਮਜਦੂਰ , ਦੁਕਾਨਦਾਰ ਸਬ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਰਗੜੇ ਜਾਨ ਗਏ ( ਵੱਡੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਂਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਫੈਕਟਰੀ ਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਗਰੀਬ ਮੁਲਕ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਦਾਹਰਣ ਵੱਜੋਂ nike ਕੰਪਨੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀਆ ਫੈਕ੍ਟਰੀਆਂ ਸਬੱ ਗਰੀਬ ਦੇਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੱਨ ਕਿਉਕਿ ਓਥੇ ਲੇਬਰ ਸਸਤੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਛੁਟਾਂ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਹੱਨ,,ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਉਣ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਕਾਮੈਂਟ like 👍 ਕਰ ਦਿਓHioSGghh

Today sectors such as dairy enjoy so much of competition that even a player wants to sell at a price 2-3 rupees higher than market price, it's almost becomes impossible. Reforms are always welcome if laid down properly, but the fact is that we need to enter the next decade with an aim to become economic super power.

Competition is necessary, but safeguard is a must, if private player comes and overpowers the system then eventually due to less revenue and losses the mandis would close and price discovery through MSP would stop and again they would be in the situation of mercy of private players

ITC, a private player competes with Amul and they both compete with local milk vendors as well. Customer is the real king and the industry today generates more revenue than wheat and rice combined. If we don't trust in our own people's strength, then who are we standing for. Our farmers can deliver a lot more, provided they get access to the right resources and opportunities just like our cattle farmers got. The question really is, are we gonna help them. Private sector means anybody who isn't in the government, which includes most of us. It's gonna be upto the smart minds of India to take this further. Government can only provide support, we have to make a better India.

Last year there were large number of farmers who were compelled to sell onions at loss(same happened with tomatoes also)
just bcoz they were not having any freedom of selling their produce outside mandi and cartel was buying it at very low price thereby farmers were compelled to sell at that price...it was just bcoz very high produce that year....
Same is happening just now onions had a massive produce cartels started working we will see rise in prices
This bill will protect those farmers and break that cartel and hoarding of onions and tomatoes

Okay i am sorry for calling you dumbass first. I like your humility though. See farmers are given loan on various basis for crops for land for equipments electricity etc. But due the uncertainty in this sector most of the times they fail to repay the loan. The produce is procured from them at a much less amount leaving no profit to repay the loan. And this debt keeps them in thus vicious cycle of indebtedness. It's not that they don't want to repay the loan but it's because they are not able to. And the bank still has the collateral so they pretty much are helpless. If you wish to know more details then pls tell me.

However, loan remittance is kind of a knee jerk solution. In that case corporatisation of farmlands may be a boon in disguise. Corporates can handle the exorbitant finances as they easily do for all their assets. I think it's not that bad an idea. I can understand why punjab Haryana will be unhappy as they used to feed on the profits made by the state government on Mandi's. I'd suggest watch the Print's take on the matter. Yes we don't live in an ideal world and corporates can easily exploit the farmers. However, more stricter guidelines can be made to strengthen the ordinances rather than perpetuating the same system. Just a thought.
