I love this podcast so much. It's refreshing to hear David and Ed talk about Christianity and the church with transparency. A lot of Christians have become very much like the Pharisees in the bible where they put on the face of righteousness, love, grace, etc. but deep down they don't really live out the gospel. Christians tend to turn a blind eye when injustice occurs. I struggle with resenting my church because of the crap I've been put through. Much love to David, and especially to Ed with his journey of forgiveness. Thanks for this episode.
Bro. Turn to GOD himself for help. For understanding. Fuck these people. People will always try to control you and manipulate you. You have to truly turn to GOD himself. Because that's what did, years ago in my early 20's.
I appreciate that Ed and David tackled forgiveness. I have for a long time thought that something was wrong with me because I still feel the same hurt when thinkg about past betrayal and events. But to know that others experience that is nice, I'm working on bwinf at David's level of peace
I haven't kept up with the podcasts since I was busy and this is the first time watching in like a month haha. But I just wanted to say thank you David. For the podcast. For the stories. For the guests. For the learning experience. I also wanted to thank you for telling us about Betterhelp. I did it because I've been looking for a therapist but have always been extremely nervous and uncomfortable with the whole face to face aspect. But you, someone who I look up to, recommended it and said that it helped you. It's been now about two to three months and to say the least, it's helped me in more ways than I thought it would. So thank you. Much love.
Its so damn refreshing to hear these guys talk, legit almost therapeutic. I shouldn't feel hatred towards the racist people of my past at my age (30's). I have great friends of various ethnicities and still there is this seed of anger in my mind that sprouts randomly each day even when I'm having a great day. These experiences are damn near impossible to get over, especially when you go through it as impressionable kid/teenager. You know this is in the past, you know they we everyone was at point immature ignorant kids, but the mind is a funny thing, it doesn't let go even when you know you are in an immensely better place in life.
Well said David. I realized too that a lot of relationships ended in 2020. Everyone was on autopilot going through life and once quarantine hit it really made people realize where their lives were. It opened eyes
these church stories w/ David and Ed are my favorite. the struggle to reconcile christianity w/ all the bad churches/christians is REAL and something i've also been struggling with. on a side note, i wonder if Ed is going to share more of the story about the seattle christian artist/rapper? i think i used to know this person and am pretty curious 👀👀
A few stories recycled but always here to hear David and Ed talk. Surprised when I saw Ed had no glasses haha I thought he was a new guy for a sec haha
Yo David i gotta say you are a straight up inspiration to me you Bart and joe are amazing, However you being so open minded and honest is pure inspiration. Plus you and Ed are my weight loss inspiration.
i love the thumbnail for this video! the anime "Golden Boy" is just genius! you can look it up on youtube and can watch all the episodes for free! so worth it!
Church hurt is what can be one of the biggest reasons to lead many to backslid but never give up on having an intimate relationship with the Lord and savior Jesus Christ. People will fail us but He never will! At the end of the day nobody is worth going to hell for. You're in my thoughts!
Ughhhh. I relate to this so much and had no idea…… I don’t have so so much anger that it takes over any part of my life. But i definitely have resentment and anger towards “church”, the people and that entire concept. It’s definitely still hard for me to accept Christianity and church because i haven’t addressed those resentments and this episode really helped me acknowledge that i need to address it and put it behind me.
"The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today Is Christians Who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, walk out the door, and deny him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable. - DC Talk, one of my fave bands back in the 90s. I sincerely hope both you guys and all the listeners find blessings and peace, no matter where you are on the spiritual journey. We got your back. Thx for having ours through these talks. 🤝
I love your podcasts David, always so entertaining but also gets me thinking. Even if I might not agree with everything said I still love to hear your thoughts! Ed is an amazing guest and has the best comments.
Love when you bring Ed on😂🤞🏽 Like anything, the info. we take in we translate it to things that we understand and I just find so many parallels to Korean and Mexican culture. Good and bad 😂 or maybe it’s just first gen. American thing Can’t wait to hear more 🤞🏽
I'm with David on hating being angry. I can count how many times I get angry on a yearly basis on one hand, but because I get angry very little. I do a 360 and become a complete monster. When that happens people compare me to feral dog and say that I become very scary. I don't ever want people to be afraid of me. I now try to reason with myself on what I'm angry about l, is silly and just laugh instead of being angry.
Great Episode David! You are absolutely right about anger! When I get angry, I feel stupid haha!! Also, anger scares the fuck out of me. Even when people argue on top their voice, I immediately become a little kid again and being terrified. Anyways take care dude!!
Hi David you are my inspiration and the reason I even do comedy. You and jk news helped me when i was in a dark place I now have a podcast and would love to interview you
That time I actually knew exactly who the the people Ed spoke about were. My best friend went to Louisiana to do the internship at that Pastor’s church. She was there when his wife died and she’s also no longer a believer.. I used to LOVE Judah Smith and that Pastor and now it’s like- YIKES. Also can we talk about how quickly that dude remarried? His wife didn’t even have time to be cold
What if I tell you that Christianity =/= Christians? The faith itself has nothing to do with the people practicing the religion. If the people practice the religion wrong, misinterpret the verses, use the religion to further their self interests, that's on them as sinners, and doesn't reflect fault in the religion itself. If I drive a lambo and I crash cuz I don't know how to handle a rear wheel drive supercar, does that mean the car is the issue, or the driver?
I hope to meet you one day David cause nothings better then real ass raw conversations to make people think more in depth and intellectually. I’m 24 and I can’t even hold a good conversation with some of the people in my gen or younger because their values morals and virtues is all shit. I just hope these same folks discover real shit like this podcast cause this is reality in everyone’s lives just structured different cause we all going thru something ya know? 💯💪🏽 keep up the hard work David ur a huge inspiration to me as well every one feat on the podcast and the jk fam love y’all ❤️
LOVED this episode but also found it so disheartening with David and Ed’s experience in losing faith in Christian people and Christianity. What I have taken out with forgiving people who don’t deserve it doesn’t mean that I blindly trust people again because I don’t put my trust in people. I put my trust in God, but that’s just me! Also the Phil Wickham topic SHOOK me bc his last album was so good & I love his music too. Anyway, love David and Ed :)
Do you think its easier to hold back your anger than to forgive them? Because the solution to anger is to just walk away and never see them, but forgiving them is another...
I don't know whether you guys watch Korean dramas but you guys should do a review on the Korean drama Traxi Driver. You guys brought up the topic of justice in the beginning of the video and I'm curious as to what you guys think about the drama.
I wish some of the teachers I has while in Catholic school would listen to this .... or just get punked by Ed and David because a good hand full of them really hurt a lot of us
Red Hair Shank: "You Can Pour Drinks On Me. You Can Throw Food At Me. You Can Even Spit On Me. I'll Just Laugh That Stuff Off. But...Good Reason Or Not...Nobody Hurts A Friend Of Mine!"
Random thought. What if Ed keeps meeting these types of people because he's supposed to tell them about themselves. I mean Jesus and the various prophets simply told people about themselves. It's not sinful or arrogant to say, "you are not living up to the Christian standard due to XYZ." (Unless you act the same way... then it'd be arrogant and hypocritical.) You don't need to forget the things done, just forgive them.
I'm actually sad to hear about this with phil wickham cause i actually see him as one of the few legit worship leaders out there nowadays, this is coming off his latest album too which i think is one of his best work yet
1:00:00 It's kind of funny to me when some troll or bigot types up 3 paragraphs or replies a bunch of time, spewing some dumb take that's been heard before. I just reply with "Lol, I'm not reading that." Sometimes they reply after I literally tell them that I'm going to reply to or read their response. I'm still not going to read it...
I love this podcast so much. It's refreshing to hear David and Ed talk about Christianity and the church with transparency. David , Ed and Church stories never miss 😂 🔥
My two favorite korean hosts from the hit podcast "Genius Brain"!

Ed’s voice is just lowkey asmr
Raw, visceral and from the heart. More conversations like this need to happen within today's Church.
Well said David. I realized too that a lot of relationships ended in 2020. Everyone was on autopilot going through life and once quarantine hit it really made people realize where their lives were. It opened eyes

Is he "Gifted"? hmmmmm
As a pk (pastors kid) the honesty about what happens in church's behind the scenes, is honestly refreshing.
A few stories recycled but always here to hear David and Ed talk. Surprised when I saw Ed had no glasses haha I thought he was a new guy for a sec haha
Blasting these podcast during my drive home. Such good things to listen to
Low key, whenever I hear David say "genius brain podcast", I hear "JESUS BRAIN PODUCASTU" in an old Korean accent lol.
No way. I do that too. 🤣
Loved the discussion regarding forgiveness and anger. I love when Ed is on! 👍🏻
Yo David i gotta say you are a straight up inspiration to me you Bart and joe are amazing, However you being so open minded and honest is pure inspiration. Plus you and Ed are my weight loss inspiration.
China mac. Made me feel what he felt. My heart was beating fast. I felt. That anger and frustration. Top 5 favourites
Ayyy the boys Ed and David 🔥🔥🔥 ps missed Ed
i love the thumbnail for this video! the anime "Golden Boy" is just genius! you can look it up on youtube and can watch all the episodes for free! so worth it!

"Low effort but high return" -Ed 😂😂
Can David do a reaction/share his take on this "korean" person named Oli London
Oh dear, this should be interesting.
First off, leave Baby Mochi alone! BTS Jimin deserved better and Oli London is a Kpop stalker, nothing more.
@@shad0wCh8ser actually London is more than that and he already talked about it so... yeah
Awesome when podcasts parallel real life , great episode
Always good content on just being real. Keep killing it! Mad respect.
I love your podcasts David, always so entertaining but also gets me thinking. Even if I might not agree with everything said I still love to hear your thoughts! Ed is an amazing guest and has the best comments.

Me and husband are the same! We can forgive but that doesnt mean you are welcome back into our space. People see us as holding a grudge.
Please do some more podcasts talking about church experiences. those are always fun

My words exactly! Everything you said, I was about to say!
I love the foot shaking tremors these 2 start having around the 49 min mark. 🤣
Do you think its easier to hold back your anger than to forgive them? Because the solution to anger is to just walk away and never see them, but forgiving them is another...
The goldenboy thumbnail lol
What is the anime from the thumbnail, I want to check it out
@David, Placerville was Hangtown. Not Eldorado Hills. Placerville is in Eldorado County though.
I don't know whether you guys watch Korean dramas but you guys should do a review on the Korean drama Traxi Driver. You guys brought up the topic of justice in the beginning of the video and I'm curious as to what you guys think about the drama.
David can you listen to 'ugh' and do a reaction to it with ed. it fits this podcast so well.

That episode was perfect - I had my grandson view him bc he is experimenting with drugs 😒😒,
Great interview

I already miss steebee Weebee on this podcast, can we get BOTH brothers Bobby Lee and steebee onto the next podcast video?
Man I hope you guys get back to having a relationship with God. Don’t let the bad experiences with church and people cause you to go astray.
Don’t let Libs trick y’all fr 🤷🏾♂️
