  • It's hatching season at Garden State Tortoise once again and this time we're dealing with hundreds of baby turtles in one shot! See how turtles and tortoises hatch out of their eggs by using an egg tooth on the tip of their snouts and see babies take their very first breath of life! Witness brand new life as these little shelled reptiles emerge on camera from their eggs, right before our eyes. It's a video you won't want to miss and there is so much to learn. Many baby reptiles hatch out of eggs but it's usually a secretive event, one that many do not get to see. This video changes that for you by bringing the miracle of life to your screen. Baby turtles and tortoises grace us with their very first moments in this video so sit back, relax and get ready for cuteness overload!

    However you made it here, thank you and welcome to Garden State Tortoise. Garden State Tortoise is home to hundreds of animals from all around the world. We are a family dedicated to adventure, conservation of wildlife, and all things nature. We are a reptile rescue and breeding facility for more than ten years, offering refuge to those who need it, and working everyday to protect the beautiful world of reptiles in any way we can. Here on our TH-cam channel you will be able to join us on our animal adventures while learning how to care for, protect, properly identify, feed and even breed many species of turtle, tortoise, snake and lizard. We even work with frogs and salamanders! We hope you enjoy our videos and help us share them with the world so we can continue to educate people of all ages about herpetology.

    My 16yo son was saying that it would be the perfect screensaver to watch the baby turtles swimming around in the holding container. Great job getting them started on their new lives.

    I will actually use tubs like that for individual grow out tubs for the first few months. They hold humidity very well and work very well. I wouldn’t use it long term of course, but for the first half year, yep.

    Babies just make me sad now. What a crap time to be born, just as civilization is being ripped apart by the insatiable greed of a few..... I know what a few thousand desperate and hungry people can do to an environment and I can't blame anyone who is is looking to survive past a calamity they had no part in creating. But I don't want to live in a world where all but a handful of the fauna is gone

    I just had the smallest eastern box turtle I have ever seen hatch. It was by far the smallest egg out of 7 and I really didn't think it would hatch but it was developing so I let it be. It is the size of a dime and taking forever to absorb the yoke sac. It's from my favorite turtle, she's like your Otis too. I cannot do anything in her enclosure without her being in my grill so I have to put her in a tote so I don't accidentally step on her.

  • @TheLPN05Fan
    @TheLPN05Fan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Little buddy there needed some air, eh? But stays inside the egg to absorb the yolk sack, correct?
    (aight, listened to the video, mea culpa).
    Thanks though for the video, very informative this time as most times!

    I discovered your page today. I'm obsessed, going through all your videos.
    One thing that sticks out to me, which isn't even turtle based, is how immaculately behaved your children are, for such young little ones they're so well behaved in your videos.
    They look equally intrigued, enthusiastic and loving toward your animals as you both are.
    What a wonderful little family you are bring up and caring for all these animals.
    You're both clearly fantastic parents too 👏
    Keep up the good work guys ❤️

    They are so cute. When I have a bad day I work. I say to myself "The babies are so cute. They are so tiny. They eat a lot and poop a lot, and that makes me happy, so I know they are healthy. Now they are stronger, and bigger, but I need to put them on a diet, and design an outdoor exercise area that they can't climb out of. They need exercise, and not me chasing them in different directions." My three babies are snapping turtles.

    In mixing the species within the water, how does that affect the babies' microbiomes? You have so many babies from so many places in the world.. Have studies been done on whether any diseases can be passed at this stage?

    I saw a video a while back that showed people raising Asian soft shelled turtles. It was really insane. They had hundreds of thousands of eggs that they put on racks above water and they let them hatch and fall into the water. I just couldn't get over the amount of turtles that they were producing.
