When you recommend thoriated tungsten, you should remember to let people know that it's very important not to breathe the dust when you grind it. It's radioactive, and if it gets in your lungs, it can cause cancer. It's completely safe to use, as long as you're careful about the grinding dust.
How is it safe to use if it's radioactive? You shouldn't even be in the same room with it, let alone touching it lol. I just finished watching the Chernobyl diaries, so I'm basically a Nuclear Radiation expert now.
I Agree on the Pyrex cups. Great thing to review. So many big names reviewing machines and expensive stuff. Think a lot of us wanna know a pro’s review of the smaller accessories. How cheap are YOU willing to go? If you can go that cheap...then I can easily practice that cheap.
Keep doing your thing dawgg! Out here in San Diego, Ca ,I'm a auto body collision tech and I'm certified in aluminum vehicles , thinking of picking up a tig torch for when I'm sectioning/replacing/repairing panels and body pillars. We have a mig welder that has two separate feeds for steel and aluminum, but when welding aluminum with it comes out dirty and kinda boogery haha. (I always prep the aluminum right before welding and wipe with acetone)
@@TheWeldLab Yea I'ma buy a myself a lil tig set-up and I'ma be practicing on aluminum, if it works out I'll start fabricating intercooler piping for turbo cars as a hobby/side gig. Stay up Rico , and keep grinding my boi! We youngin out here getting that dough$$$.
Another great video bro. I wish you were on TH-cam 5 years ago when I was fresh out of weld school trying to break out as a combo.... I’m an industrial electrician now 😂
Hey for a tig video could u explain what differences are between the different filler? For example at my school we use 70s-2 and u said it was bad cause of the silicon.
Great video It would be great to see your opinion on one of the AHP alphatig machines they claim to deliver a pro level machine at a economical price. This machine appears to be very cable and the reviews seem to be good. I would love your point of view on this as a pipe welder. Keep the great content coming. 👍
The video was excellent, great info. I wanted to start learning how to tig I was just talked to my buddy about it all this past week. I also wanted to know what tig setup to get on a budget and now I got all the info for that. I have one question for you. How do you hook up your 200 and hook up all the tig setup. If you could make a video or email me that would be greatly appreciated.

I been using a shade 10 lense for the last 2 years. before i started welding i had vision like a fucking hawk... now everything is slightly blurry, no joke, i think i need to turn my shit up to 11 or 12.
Haha brother the tungsten you showed in the video were 2% ceriated, but the ones you said to get are thoriated just to let you know haha both are great tungsten anyway
Wait what??? 70s6 has less silicon? I thought the 70s2 was less. Hence the smaller number before the silicon ???? So what's easiest to use? The 70s6 because the more silicone makes it spread easier ? Or the 70s2 because it has less silicon?
Man, you should start your own Welding School, and register with the Workforce Development or Unemployment Office in your State! Your are really good at Instructing. They will pay for the students that they send your way. You name your tuition price (per student) and State and Federal Money will cover the Students' tuition. I started my own Trade School called Abate-Tech, where I teach Welding, Fire and Water Damage Restoration, and Asbestos Abatement, and the State didn't bark at the price I charged per student. This way you have money coming in even in between jobs!
Wow man that’s amazing !! I just checked your website out real motivating you got me hyped !! Yeah man I’m thinking bout doing something similar to that I’ll like to get a school going and also a fab shop one day ..thanks for taking time and sharing some of your wisdoms i really appreciate it ✊🏼
hey you think i can get your email i wanted to ask you something about registering with the workforce im thinking about doing that welding school and i had a few questions 🙏🏼
just an FYI.. ER70S-6. Has more silicon. Not “silicone” that you caulk your bathroom tub with lol... er 70s-2 actually has less silicon... the silicon actually helps the filler metal be more fluid and there fore floats oxides easier to the surface ...
