Delphi Ghost Town: Exploring a Little-Known Ghost Town in Thurston County, Washington

In this episode of Searching for History, Erin, our white German Shepherd Dog, Thora and I visit the site the Delphi Ghost Town. Delphi is located west of Olympia, near the Capitol State Forest, in Thurston County, Washington. Today all that is left of Delphi is a 1910 schoolhouse and a pioneer cemetery. However, back in the late 19th century, this was a boom town that supported the local timber industry. A post office opened at Delphi in 1892 and closed in 1923. A school house operated in Delphi from 1895 to 1942. Not far southwest of Delphi is the Delphi Pioneer Cemetery. The cemetery has gravestones dating back to the late 1800s.
