Perhaps I missed it, but what is the purpose of this extra intake and why doesn’t the sled always pull in from the other intake vents (beside panels etc). I don’t quite understand why Polaris set up the intakes this way
Air is drawn through this and directly into the throttle body before the sled builds boost. This is so the sled acts like a NA 850 before boost is built. once boost is built, this valve closes and sled draws air through the side panel directly into the turbo. Stock, Polaris uses a reed valve system to achieve the same thing, but when it closes after boost is built, it leaks.. causing boost leak. Polaris race department has recommended races switch to the TRS valve.
looking to order this for my 2024 boost, would you recommend a tune? I have the rmp boost tube, also looking at the boondocker breath right intake, would you say thats a decent setup?
TRS valve a must.. I have tested speedwerx tunes against other manufacturers at Dynotech and each test occurred same day for accuracy. Go with a speedwerx stage 2 or 2.5 tune. I am not familiar with the Boondocker breathe right set up, but it looks nice.
