Thanks so much Matt! If you ever make it to Vancouver, you would love it. the harbour is very busy with seaplane action, and I spend many hours there every time I visit the city.
And he backed it out with just reverse-prop thrust ... HOW KOOL is that!!!😎 A dear friend I've known since 1958 flew Twin Otters and DC3s for a while in the RCAF and I flew on a Twin Otter from Sudbury to Ottawa in 1975. A fabulous design that's still in worldwide use and demand half a century later.
It is alway really interesting to see these seaplanes pushing back under their own power, it must take some practice to learn to handle them on the water. I always love watching them when visiting Vancouver.
Thanks so much Ed, it's always fun getting down to the harbour in Vancouver for a bit of seaplane spotting. These Twin Otter's are always my favourite to see there as well.
What a sound 😍 Excellent close up show of the Twin Otter start up and departing, Jesse! From me as always a big like and best regards from Bavaria, Volker👋👋
Jesse my good friend, great catch & all of your video/audio gear is working great, I always like to let you,Matt, etc... know that on a periodic basis, any idea what speed these planes need to reach on the water to rotate ? , I know it will depend on weight, normal water conditions, etc..., but just in general. always like seeing these planes
It surprising the pilots don't shut down the props into zero pitch the night before, makes starting safer for when the blades go from feathered to fine
What a super cool video from Vancouver Harbour! 🤩👍 Excellent video of this beautiful Twin Otter on floats! 👌 I could watch seaplanes for hours. 😊👍

I could never work at an airport. I`ll be just watching planes all the time instead of doing my chores.....Thanx Jesse..
We loved Vancouver, the seaplanes make it so unique.
It is cool to see all the seaplanes operating right out of downtown, definitely unique! I'd really like to try flying on one some day.
@@TheHDAviation I agree, we would love to visit again and take a seaplane flight for the sheer fun of it.
Wonderful clip. Love that reverse out of the slip. Smoooooth move
It's always cool to see these seaplane pilots in action, they are really good at handling them on the water. Must take some getting used to!
What an awesome catch. The Twin Otter is such a great looking plane, especially in amphibious configuration. Love the PT6 startup sound too.
love seeing these beautuful twin otter seaplanes in action! great sound and takeoff in a beautiful setting, thanks for sharing!

Amazing footage my friend! This Twin Otter Pilot seems very experienced and has 100% control of his plane! Thumbs up and greetings from germany ;)
Thanks so much Martin. It's always interesting to see how well the pilots handle the aircraft on the water, it must take some skill!
@@TheHDAviation yes I think so too

The Otter is a perfect name for the seaplane Twin Otter.
Oh I miss the Twin Otter of Berlin Skies. A very very cool video of the engine startup and takeoff. Keep it up!
Nothing beats the sound of a turboprop starting up! I still have yet to fly on a seaplane though, and I would love to try out Harbour Air sometime!
Lovely love the Twin Otter DHC 6
What a wonderful video mate! Liked!
Nice one! The Twin Otter is such a unique aircraft.
The great "tic, tic, tic, tic, whoosh" of a PT6 startup! Handy having a bit of reverse pitch to back out of the pontoon too.
Really awesome!
That's probably the first time I've seen such a pushback :) Awesome footage again, great work!!

Really nice action, stunning scenario!
I was always impressed with the float plane ops when I worked in Ketchikan, Alaska in 2001 👍🇺🇸 You could easily notice the experienced pilots.
HUGE LIKE Jesse, love the sounds of this twin turbo, excellent footage and I could watch your seaplane footage over and over. Great job my friend 😎👍
Thanks so much Ed, it's always fun getting down to the harbour in Vancouver for a bit of seaplane spotting. These Twin Otter's are always my favourite to see there as well.
