    The blue completely transformed the painting at the end. It all came together for me! So pretty. I'm using this as inspiration for painting flower pots this evening 😊

    beautiful! I love how you explained every step! Could you also please share if there was any waitn time between coats?

    • @ElleByers
      @ElleByers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I usually wait a few minutes between leaves and flowers so I don't smudge green/blue into my pinks/reds. I use acrylics so the layers dry pretty quick.

    I enjoyed watching this and learned a lot, you made the flowers in such an easy flowing way, that maybe, just maybe, one day I’ll be able to master. I’ll have to replay it on extra slow motion though to try to catch up and keep up with you, because you go soooo fast. Too fast for me, an absolute beginner.

      So happy to read your comment as I actually thought the same thing. I even thought the paper towel looked really pretty with the paint brush strokes on it. Lol.

    Love your paintings. The colors are beautiful. What canvases do you use? Do you gesso them before you start painting? Do you sell these paintings?

    • @ElleByers
      @ElleByers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I usually use Blick Premier Cotton Canvas but sometimes I buy them at Michaels if they're on sale. I prefer the Blick canvas though. I don't gesso because the canvases I buy are pre-primed. And, I do sell my work on ellebyers.com :)

    I’m so glad I found you! These flower paintings are so extraordinarily beautiful and it’s so inspirational to be able to watch your process and to learn from it. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us! ... I was wondering, do you use a reference photo or a still life of these flowers to paint from or is this drawn out thumbnail style initially from references? Or do you know enough about painting these types of flowers that when painting these it’s referenced from your minds eye? 😀🌸👩‍🎨🎨

    • @ElleByers
      @ElleByers  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I used to draw thumbnail sketches all the time to work out a composition first but I don't do that as much anymore with small paintings because I've done so many of them.

    Did you draw out on your canvas how you wanted it to look?

    • @ElleByers
      @ElleByers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Not on this one. I drew it on paper so I knew what I was going to paint. Sometimes I draw it right on the canvas first.

    I love your paintings, but wish you'd do them in real time (like your other ones) rather than so fast.

    • @ElleByers
      @ElleByers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I know.. this was one of my first TH-cam videos that I posted and I don't have the original anymore so I can't post a real time version.

    • @FitChickGlows
      @FitChickGlows 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can slow down the speed of the playback of the video and that really helps to make it feel in real-time. I find that helps me to really study the process and follow along. To do this select the 3 vertical dots in the upper right corner of the TH-cam screen if on your phone ~ it may be somewhere else on the screen, such as possibly lower right, on other devices~ then select “Playback Speed” then choose the setting above “Normal” ~ you can choose 0.25x (the slowest), 0.5x or 0.75x (slightly slowed down). Though of course the music and her voice will be slowed down too. Sometimes that’s actually soothing if it’s music only and sometimes not so much! Lol! 😉🌸🎨👩‍🎨🌈
