Based on how he acted, I'm pretty sure he knew that but wanted to play nice. For example, he cast swiftfoot boots for him, which you wouldn't do if you were trying to completely screw them
Casting the boots or not wouldn't have made that much of a difference thanks to Zendikar Resurgent. I think he legitimately didn't know, as that would've been the smartest move: Mowu is voltron-oriented, and without his commander, Nick would probably struggle to stay in the game, like Martin.
@@Cole444Train yeah, my philosophy with lands that come into play tapped is they either need to do something (like scry or exile a graveyard) or they need to color fix aggressively. Since I don't think you need to color fix that aggressively in a 3 color deck I think those "vivid lands" are kind of pointless.
Just a small correction no one brought up, you can't declare attacks on your self with your own creatures. Even if some one else is taking the turn, they still cannot declare an illegal attack target.

When moving to attackers, you cannot declare your self as a legal attack target, therefore when Mowu was declared to attack his owner (an illegal target) it wouldn't have made an attack, and went back to the command zone. It probably wouldn't have changed the outcome in any way, but was still a small mistake I seen.

At 13:00 shouldn't nick take 2 turns as Emrakul gives the player a turn after the stolen turn? Am I wrong here, or shouldn't doggo have taken two turns? one extra turn then one normal turn

Leardine, not always. If you have no graveyard interaction in your deck and you need you commander out again ASAP, why would you put it in the graveyard?
I am not telling anyone howmtomlive, play, or build Magic decks. Whenever we sit down, we do warn people if we see their Commanders and know we have a deck about 2 tiers higher of busted. Everyone here seemed friendly and in good play. I am sure it was all discussed. I just wanted to mention that a high legendary count deck with multiple Eldrazi has us warn others. Nothing beyond what I have seen on the internet, but try that deck hit its stride once and I saw the white flags going up.

@@johns832 you keep giving the wrong information all over these comments. When you take control of a player you control of all their choices. Sending one's commander to the command zone is a choice max could've made and kept making the wrong one.
@@TheRushmore12 Actually, is not a wrong choice. He wanted to set the Mowu volton player behind, but not take him out of the game completely. Getting back commanders from the graveyard can be hard or impossible for some decks.
3 fun looking low-medium powered decks... aaaaand then there’s Max. Just watching the game was frustrating. Obviously, when playing a deck that costs more than the entire table put together, you are going to win. 🤷♂️
Nick absolutely should have wiped out Max after that powerful Hermit Druid activation but it can be so easy to stop paying attention to an opponent's graveyard, especially when there's so many cards in it that it's hard to track what's actually in it, that I don't blame him.
I mean, if you're in "there's too much stuff over there, I'm too lazy to keep track" mode (we've all been there), that's usually a decent sign that you might want to take that guy out asap... ;P
When I saw Kethis revealed, I thought he would be a fun, but probably quite janky, commander. Turns out he's the new Satan of Magic. As it also turns out, Mindslaver and Eldrazi titan recursion is stupid. He really should have some kind of "legendary cards that go to your graveyard are exiled instead" clause, or something similar, because he just makes killing BDGTs (Big Dumb Green Things) worse than leaving them in play. I'm just really glad that Wizards had the foresight to make Legendary Sorceries exile themselves on resolution.

Martin did the same mistake all nykia decks do. He put less lands into his deck just because he thinks his mana is doubled with commander. there should still be 37 lands in nykia deck.
i mean wizard builds core sets for standard and modern and kethis isnt doing much in either its really only in eternal formats or rahter only in commander that he is an unbalanced card plus stuff like muldrotha and meren already provided decks with plenty of graveyard recursion so he isnt even that out of step with the things wizards puts out for commander specifically.
Mowu was put on the command zone so much, you could say he was on a short leash.

He does get two turns. One normal turn (piloted by max) starting at 12:20, and one extra turn (piloted by Nick) starting at 12:42.

Put lots of land tutors in, like fertilid. Saves you from being mana screwed and also lessons being mana drowned.
I gotta say, being Mindslavered is never fun. Seeing happen twice this game kinda ruined it for me.
