@thflash09msr You must be new to the sport because it doesn't always work out that way. Plenty of guys who had far better rookie seasons than him never amounted to what they were supposed to. Skill doesn't build in a linear way, and riders run into walls where they don't advance like you would expect. Deegan could end up being a top guy, or he could run into all sorts of issues that stop him from ever achieving anything meaningful in the sport. He hasn't done enough yet to prove anything. He looks like he might be promising, but that's as far as I would go. There's guys he's racing now that looked like the next big thing who just didn't make it for some reason. Go check out Austin Forkner or Justin Cooper in their first couple years. Amazingly fast and super talented. Still racing 250s years later. Deegans' future isn't guaranteed, and with that new kid that's dominating the 450 class and setting records every weekend I would be worried about what his future is actually going to look like.
First off I am fan of both Chase and Jett. There is alot of talk about Chase being faster then Jett but in my opinion we haven't really seen Jett have to show us what he looks like when 1st place is on the line other then with Ken when Chase was not racing. Jett will need to make a mistake for us to see what his 100% is really like against Chase but judging from the qualifying lap times each week I bet we know already know the answer. I am not an expert by any means but from what I see each week it looks like for Chase to stay up with Jett he has to ride at his 90 to 95% range the whole race which he does well but it leaves alot of room for mistakes which we are seeing. Jett looks like he normally rides at his 80% and when Chase is really pushing him it seems to only push Jett to his 85% which still seems like a semi comfortable zone for him which is why we aren't seeing the mistakes. Not sure what you all think but that is just my perspective from watching each week.
