Great reaction Eric! True professional level talent (for ANY age)! This video was done a couple months before Ellen (bassist) turned 12...lol She lives 3-4 miles from me. When YOYOKA was in Las Vegas she goes "Hey Glen, can you take us over to this 9 y.o. bassist's house. She has a studio and I'm going to play with her." YOYOKA cracks me up. She's so casual about everything. What really happened was, we went to Ellen's house, YOYOKA and Ellen hung out doing girly stuff, never mentioning that what was going to happen later is we were going to a different studio for them to record "The Ocean" by Led Zepplin. Ellen and YOYOKA had never met or played together before. They walk into the studio, tune their instruments, do the sound check with the engineer, and with NO practice or warmup, bang it out in ONE TAKE. Never concerned earlier in the day that they needed to practice, not nervous, either one of them....lol " Led Zeppelin - The Ocean (Cover) by Ellen, Eva, Mateo and YOYOKA" th-cam.com/video/Oezh5Y1qutc/w-d-xo.html Ellen's You Tube channel "EllenPlaysBass" has 600K subs....lol Her father is a world class musician and both YOYOKA's and ELLEN's family have raised them basically the same. Let them do what they want, when they want, and if they want (in regards to music). Apparently this is a winning formula! Check out "The Ocean" if you haven't before. Thanks again Eric!
Oh I'm psyched you did this. I was blown away and so filled with hope. I followed a couple of these kids before and now am really hopeful for the future of all of them. There is SO much talent in this room. Seriously, take the time to look up each of them. Some are super famous (like our drummer and bass player and guitarist) and some are just getting started, but they're all so so so damn talented. It was a fantastic idea to get them all together to do this and I'm excited, like really excited for each of their futures.
Thank you for presenting us with such a good cover of a very high level with Yoyoka and Ellen in the lead who are like thunder and lightning, the other musicians are also true virtuosos.
Yoyoka has played with Ellen on bass before, but said this was the first time this group had played together. She said they didn’t even rehearse, but just played the song through 4 times to record the video. 🤯 talent here! 😎👍
I was at their (ELLEN and YOYOKA) recording of "The Ocean". ELLEN and YOYOKA had just met that day and they walk in to the studio, tune their gear, do a sound check with the Engineer and bang out the video in one take (for the audio). Other takes were just for different angles for the video. Never played together, hung out for about two hours before we went to the studio, and they were too busy doing "girly" stuff to be bothered with even practicing. Neither one of them a bit nervous. The other two were practicing when we got there and were both nervous. Amazing girls!
Great reaction. Knowledgable musician input. You observed that Yoyoka serves the song. So right. She can do anything but always serves the number. She composes oh so tasty drum parts in jazz fusion too and for orchestral tracks for computer games Check out her Final Fantasy series. Seasoned live musician of ten years now and it really shows. There has been a hint that she is featuring in Narada Michael Walden's Youth Foundation Concert again. One to look forward to. Wouldn't be surprised if she features in more of his studio work either.
Thanks for this reaction and Yoyoka and her friends have been putting out some absolutely great music lately. Yoyoka's latest is a new band she formed with some friends and they just released a cover of Jinjer's "Pisces" - you wouldn't know this was a bunch of teens (except for the singer, she's only 12) - th-cam.com/video/bseRcyVXJAY/w-d-xo.html - be nice if you give a reaction :)
Spot-on reaction. 👍👍 This cover is _better_ than faultless. Ellen _is_ a monster on bass, and Yoyoka is "driving the bus". As you said, this isn't good for kids, it is great for any group of musicians. Yoyoka has subsequently formed the band "Knockout" (a great band name) with Charlotte (guitar and vocals) on two other young musicians. I hope Muse get them on stage the next time they tour the US. I hope you react to their cover of Heart "Barracuda", when vocalist Vinya tackles one of the great voices in rock, Ann Wilson. Merry Christmas, and Happy, Peaceful New Year. 🎅🎉 ☮
@@DrumAttic Thank you for taking the time and effort to reply. Their cover of Heart's "Barracuda" is *_Glorious_* 😂Christmas _is_ for kids, so it's a great time to showcase young musicians "knocking it out of the park". Thank you for featuring them Eric, glad you enjoyed them!
Thank u, THANK U VERY much, saying, this is not good for kids, it is good for everyone! They're a band I'd pay money for to watch!
Good Vid! Keep it up and merry Christmas!
