Dave is getting old. He doesn’t even play it in “Dave style” any longer. He plays standard chords. That’s what made him unique.

Idk, I've been transcribing DMB stuff for a long time, he's always used open position chords. I really don't think the location of your hand in relation to the 1st fret is what makes or breaks your "style"

I saw him play on his live on July 24 in Charlotte and he played this song like he originally wrote it, not the standard chords. I also think that his style comes from the unorthodox chord progressions more than the way he plays the chords in most songs.
Getting lazy with 1st position chords. Next he'll start mailing in the entire show. Go watch this shit @ Benaroya and you'll see real passion. Still better than 99% of musicians today.
