    Just did my nissan frontier. When y order the part on the autopart it was not exactly the same but it did fit ok. Can that cause any problem ? Even tho they told me that was the part made for my frontier but it was a little different.

    Hi mate I just have a question about coolant system in this car. Higher coolant hose swells and is not soft like ussually in cars but when i take off a radiator cup pressure doesn't blow. Just some collant moving out by warming what is actually normal. Bottom coolant hose behind thermostat hausing was cold even after long ride. There is leak from back of the engine so coolant needed to be filled and many boobles can be seen after long ride is it bleeding?. I replaced thermostat but bottom hose is still cold Is it normal? Car does't overheat according to gauge. I bought this car recently and don't know much just want manage it during spare time. Oil is clean and can't be seen in coolant. I'm affraid of blown head gasket. Thanks for help.

      Hi Marcin. Does vehicle overheats occasionally, especially under the load? At what temperature (standard value 180F) thermostat opens? How long it takes to warm up the engine? Bottom radiator as from thermostat housing to pump to cylinder head should be cooler. Upper radiator hose should feel firm but not rock hard? Let me know?

      @@PistonShack Thank you for fast reply. I drove this vehicle short distance from buying and didn't see overheat only after start temp gauge indicates bottom for while and later suddenly half of scale so i replaced sensor and thermostat at once. After it temp gauge rises normally. Engine warm up to middle of scale after 2-3 kilometers so normally. I bought thermostat with opening temp (82Celsius standard) at older one was only written made in usa I didn't notice ane diffrences with new thermostat. Thermostat housing to cylinder head is hot like higher coolant hose. But thick coolant hose from thermostat hausing (near fanbelts) is always cold- that's confuse me the most - and thats why i replaced thermostat. Upper radiator hose is harder than normally in cars I thought thermostat doesn't open and this causes higher preasure.

    Did this stop your over heating Problems?
    Mine over heats, once I bring up the RPM's the tempaeture drops, once RPS go down, temperatures go back up. Fan has some light play to it, and also after I shut off car, fan spins freely then slows down gradually, So I think it's my Fan Clutch, it has a new Thermostat, Water Pump isn't leaking or making any noise, antifreeze has been topped off and no air bubbles either as I removed them completely.
    I have an 06 Frontier , so it should be the same process more or less 🤷🏻‍♂️

      Yes, it took care of the overheating problem on my Xterra. Seems like your rad might get plugged up over time or just have some air trapped in a system. Check bleeder screw on to of the intake manifold make sure you don't have any air trapped and bleed the system if necessary. Cheers Brotha!

      @@PistonShack Kool. No air in my system. I bleed it good, no bubbles whatsoever. Fan keeps spinning after car is off, has about a 1/4 inch play forward and back, fan is also pretty loud, those are some indicators that fan is bad and needs to be replaced. Glad you got yours sorted out Bro 👊

    • @PistonShack
      @PistonShack  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay, that's your AC condenser fan at the front. I won't worry about that fan play right now. Check upper and lower radiator hoses (if you have laser thermometer read temperature value) when your engine fully warm up. Let me know what you have.

      @@PistonShack I tested both Manually, When I had access to the car, both Top and bottom were hot. The bottom took longer to heat up, but not as hot as the top one, which I think is normal, because the bottom is Already cooled down through the radiator?
      The car is in Puerto Rico now. I bought it from an uncle, who is very old and could not drive anymore. It only has 37K miles on it, that's why I jumped on deal.
      I have since done the Transmission bypass and only need to do the rear transfer case mod.
      I don't have a heat sensor gun, can you recommend one?

      @@PistonShack I'll be back in mid August to fumble and fix the over heating issue. I plan on shipping that Low Milage frontier back to the States.
