I have honestly missed this caring gentleman in our education sector, Our prezo hangemtoa hapo.Sincerely when he was the CS of education a lot of things improved including the way teachers taught and even facilities. He was a caring father for our students. Imagine Walimu walidevelop sike yenye hawajawahi kuwa nao whether ni kufunza vizuri, kutreat wanafunzi vyema because of the fear that they can be sucked if found joking at their work place by ‘the now gone caring father ‘ . But since his departure from the education sector things are getting back to square one!.
My heart breaks for the young people in this country.....Kenyan leaders have done a disservice to the youth of this country... God bless Matiangi for trying... He is a leader and a worker!
Unless one went to one of those upper class high schools with fancy dorms,Most boarding schools dormitories for most schools in rural areas are really deplorable and not fit for anybody to sleep in..despite schools charging exorbitant fees..I know this cause I went to a boarding school in a rural area,Embu to be precise,the dorms we slept in were nasty as fuck due to years of neglect and lack of maintenance and that's something that needs to be addressed within the Kenyan boarding school system.

Schools in ukambani always have their priorities upside down, some with mud, grass thatched sheds in the name of classrooms have flashy buses plying the streets of kitui town for showoff, with very little else to show in terms of structures,performance etc.What a shame.But at least the teacher here is trying to keep a steady voice amidst the ambush.
I reiterate Matiang'i's sentiments. Back then, our h/school made us contribute and get bus while we would trek each evening to take a bathe and fetch water from river. Our loos were so dire that one had to remove pullover and shirt before entering so as not to absorb as much odour. Dammit! Heads should roll!
Misplaced priorities school has 50 computers but cannot utilize just one for record keeping? If Kenya had a government like Canada's, how many schools you know, would be certified as sanitary and normal to operate as learning institutions? How many would be shut down by the education board? Probably all of them? with the exception of a few which would still be cited for sanitary conditions, fire safety violations, waste disposal violation, clean water act violation, food safety violation, etc... Kenya would pay off it's chinese debt with these fines because they would be many. Unfortunately, the government in Kenya is just that, ..."don't care attitude..." Matiangi will come see and go away and nothing will happen. It will be back to business as usual the next day. But Matiangi is a true patriot but he is working alone and there is only so much he can do.
if Kenyans especially working in public sector really took there job seriously, we would have a thriving country. the private sector has good professionals.. who do their jobs well... but most of these public sector guys choose to eat and rest on their pride of working in government. our public schools are a disgrace, health system is a shambles. 80% of parastatals work inefficiently. But the public chooses to turn a blind eye and instead eat, sleep and breathe pointless politics.. shared around by githeri media
Matiang'i harassed the new principal for nothing.....just to appease some local gods of some family there . The principal is since dead. 6 yrs down the line nothing has changed in the school due to local interference
