Oh... my... god! I've been reordering EVERYTHING to get the thread loop to the middle of the work and trying to hold the work, the loop, and keep the tension. This. Is. Brilliant!!! Thank you for solving an issue I thought everyone had 😅
I learned the folded join , the twisting of the picot method you , from Mary Konior's "Tatting in Lace", page 29. BUT I will definitely give wrapping it around my finger the next time I need it... Thank you for sharing...
I'm mostly self-taught in tatting, & I naturally do something quite similar to your wrap-around. I fold the motif around itself such that I'm joining correctly. It does take a little finagling and mental geometry to make sure I'm ending up the right way 'round, but I soooo don't like that twisted join.
@ first thank you for responding so quickly! Secondly I can’t put into words how helpful this is! I haven’t been able to tatt much this year because I had another baby and it was taking everything thing in me trying to get this down but this takes out all of the intimidation!
Oh also I’ve been using your tatting ASMR videos to carry me through between those times when it’s literally impossible to tatt! You work so hard to create content, and you have your health issues,so I understand if you can’t for awhile, but I wanted you to know they are GREATLY appreciated and would love to see more in the future. The ones with no music are my favorite.

Could you do a beginners video please?! 😅❤
Sorry this is probably a dumb question but can this method be used to finish as well say like with Nectar? Like to connect the last ring to ring A?
Like can I alternatively use the fold around your finger method instead of the method you show at the end of Lesson 1 Picots and Joins?
yes, absolutely!
