Hey, I'm Ricio. I make videos about trumpet for ALL Trumpet players!
I'm a New Orleans based professional trumpet player who has a love for teaching but my playing schedule does not allow me the time to do so full time. I perform 200+ shows a year but I set aside time to make awesome videos for you!

Re-beginner here. I have been really yearning to play again, so I pulled the trigger for a Bach BTR 301 USA model. I love this trumpet. And a Dennis Wick #DW 5506 wah wah mute. Great channel and thanks for doing this for all levels. Cheers!

It's funny how different these mutes sound with different players. Can be the acoustics of the room, or mic, but mostly it's the player. You've got a great sound, with these cup mutes it's like butter.
The Humes & Berg sounds just a little smoother here than the Denis Wick, which had just a tiny hint of metallic sound using it with the cup.

Nice video! Man something about you New Orleans trumpet players! Y'all are sooooo Killing! Your flexibility sounds great! I would love to get to a point where I can put a shake on any note like how you play "When the Saints!" Keep up the great work!!

@@jeronfruge3063 Amen to that!!! Was there an exercise they recommended or you just picked it up from hear it & play it back?

Never really had anyone show me any exercises for it. However, developing the shakes above the staff first and using mutes with it help the transfer of the skill. The resistance from the mute makes the shake just a little bit more achievable at first
