Thanks Monroe. I appreciate you so much. We buy and they dont like us or appreciate us but we spend a lot. Im not buying and im looking for my black luxury designers and those brands that want and respect us.
You preached a word about a quiet BHM. It is happening across all occupations and I wholeheartedly support the move to make our own spaces and opportunities.
As a 67 year old who have been watching most of you for a long time. I have seen the void of my people for years. In the fashion world. Im a firm believer that you hit them in the pocket!! Stop buying their products and do as Tyler Perry has done don't fight for a seat at their damn tables ban together and create your own support your own!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi Monroe First and foremost thank you for your channel. I'm a seventy plus woman still living and loving fashion and travel. I love everything about your channel. I agree with you Holdheartdly regarding the extreme drop in diversity in our culture. Very sad!!!. Happy you recognize our issues. Peace Love and Blessings...
Monroe Monroe I know U have a lot of comments However maybe 4 weeks ago I Thank U 4 representing and that's Why I said it 1 of the Banks HERE usually they would say something for Black History Month in the Month of February NOTHING They acknowledged everything else for the month as soon our $$ Mature We R Out Already placed the SAVINGS Somewhere Else LET Them keep PLAYING IF WE ALL GET IT WE CAN CLOSE A LOT OF THIS FOOLISHNESS DOWN THANKS MONROE
“Make your own table and do not want for anyone to give you a seat” a WORD! This is the reason I make my own clothes and create my own table. Still a beginner but I don’t want to be where I’m not wanted or represented . It’s time to create our own. Another great vlog per usual ❤
A big YES ....that's the only way to go...being independent and creative and DIY....❤ the market of similar minded is big enough to succeed...it's unfortunate that it has come to this...and it's good ..if you are not welcome or appreciated you put your money to where you are welcome ❤
Monroe, thank you for speaking up about the lack of diversity in the fashion industry. I’m not a fashion girlie but I do love your content. It was very evident to me this year the lack of brown and black presence….i love that you spoke up about it!!!!❤❤
Monroe thank you for your most recent article on the lack of black faces at luxury fashion shows. Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing the regression made towards diversity and inclusion since COVID-19. Thank you for not changing who you are to try to fit into what you think these brands want. You are loved and we will keep supporting you ❤
I love when you give us a word in addition to the looks and fun stuff. These businesses and corporations just pacified us for a few years. They are going the way of the country, taking us back to antebellum times. Supporting our own is so important, and you have always been BOUT IT 🖤
Hi Monroe, I have noticed that as well. This is why I to stress for people to support black own businesses. We are the only ones that will see them grow and care. Thank you for saying what you did and I hope the people are listening and make that move.
Thank you for addressing the disparities that are happening in the Fashion industry. The powers that be are driving our progress backwards. Thank you for always highlighting black companies, designers and influencers while still appreciating the larger brands. I so appreciate your determination. I also am happy that you are being invited and sought out by brands because you give so much. Another great video!!
Monroe, I love that you are very aware, vocal and unapologetically YOU; not afraid to speak the truth!❤. You are definitely an Inspiring, Beautiful, Classy, Boss Queen 👑🔥 ❤u
Thank you for mentioning about a quiet BHM, I felt and noticed it too. I love your Vlogs as a 70.+ black woman please continue to use your platform as someone mentioned I totally agree and your promotion of our businesses. Wishing you much continued success beautiful!❤
Enjoyed the vlog Monroe! They are full of it, like they have always been! This is your Great Auntie 75 years young, and boy do I have some stories to tell! I definitely was picking up what you were putting down, heard you loud and clear! Love you!!❤️❤️❤️
I really appreciate you saying something about how “things” just went backwards and sideways. We as people need to support “us”. Your content is great like always clothes and skin perfect! Thank you !!! 💫💫💫
Queen Monroe! Let the activist in you ARISE and be heard! I'm so proud of you and how you are using your platform to celebrate brown skinned folk. You know who you are and never lose that. I've noticed it on many levels and pulling your chair up to your table is the path to take! You are equipped to forge ahead and I believe in you!
I'm definitely not your standard demographic as a 60 year old white European woman who loves fashion but also tries to champion everyone been following your channel for over a year and love your style and the way you present your style.Exactly as others have said forge your way forward and if you are excluded from the " club" create your own club.Sending much love to you ❤
You are 100% I too have noticed the swing of the DEI initiative pendulum back to the side that is not favorable to black and brown people. I am so glad you called it out.
I support your channel always and I absolutely love how you represent for our people. We don't get enough credit, visibility, or respect (just to name a few) in most spectrums of society. Great vlog per usual!!!
This video hit home when you spoke your truth about BHM. I felt the same way, it went and then it was gone.Galentines was celebrated and highlighted but you hardly saw any of us bring BHM to the forefront. Thank you for educating us on black owned brands and also brands that acknowledge people of color. You looked dynamic at Makeup by Mario. God put you in the rooms where it happens, especially the HFR x Naomi event to give you a glimpse of your Next Level! So proud of you @MonroeSteele!
I went through a whole year of training for the DEI program at work to implement changes only to hear a couple months later that it was no longer a part of the institution. No longer even in the state😢😢
Great vlog! I love that you always are mentioning other content creators for us to follow! ❤ Yes, the shift has been happening not just in fashion but across all industries! DEI is no more! Very sage advice on creating your own economy and I’m so glad you’ve been forging your own path and showing us how to do it! Thanks for always championing black owned businesses too! Once again great vlog! TFS 😊❤
Thank you for the not-rant; I've noticed too. And I love how entrepreneurial you are and supportive of other entrepreneurs. Our community is the source of all the sauce. It's time we start value us over everything else. If they don't recognize, they don't deserve you!!!
I’ve noticed…I can see it in my fashion emails that arrive daily along with other spaces. This was great! Some might be too afraid to be honest and transparent about the landscape because they thinkthey’ll be austracized. It’s the same silence that has gone on in corporate America. We have to speak up now and forever. I’m always happy to see you an Sonja continuing to move onward and upward. Keep going. You’re still going to be blessed as you have been. 😇
Monroe welcome back home. I agree, that black history month zoomed by. I barely see black models in advertising. I'm so tired of it, i guess I'm use to it. They bring us in to take us out. By watching you I've learned so much about black owned business. Monroe you're a beacon of light.❤
We love you , and appreciate you for all the fashion advice and love you have given and received from us. Without your incredible talent of beauty and fashion and the trips that you take us on are oh so special and memorable . Don’t ever stop and we will never stop loving you.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I definitely noticed the difference between last year and this year. As a plus size woman I was so excited to see so man plus size models even pregnant models. Saw plus size models at the Adore show but only because I subscribe to Stylish Curves and she went to the show. Roland Martin of Roland Martin Unfiltered was talking about the same thing. Thank you so much for telling us about black businesses.❤❤
Interesting convo. The state of your society determines tolerance in all areas. If you look at your society and see it's moving in a particular direction, so will everything else, that is why it's important to pay attention and use the power you have been given to make the difference where it matters most.
I agree about the points on diversity and inclusion. I always appreciate your support of black designers and businesses. I know whatever you create is going to be amazing. I'm an aspiring designer myself.
Totally agree. We are going back to "the good old days". We are going to have to support each other in fashion, politics and everything else. YOU KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!
Amen, Monroe Steele!❤❤❤U from Chicago, IL USA 🇺🇸 P.S Monroe Steele! Thank you, and keep on representing women of color because you are 💯 absolutely correct about including more black businesses in the high fashion industry .
Hey Monroe heyyy. I am so glad to see you acknowledge the race dealings that are going on or not for that matter. I've wondered a time or two if that was something that you've encountered with all of your interaction that you've experienced with brands and designers. I hope you continue to be great and live your life unapologetically. ❤✊🏾👊🏽✌🏾
Hello Monroe, good evening to you and everyone, it’s a pleasure to be here, and have the opportunity to enjoy your company, after a long day, appreciate you, let’s get into all this beautiful creativity. 🌻🦋❤️👑✨
Yes you are so right a shift is happening. In schools and colleges they are dropping programs left and right. Yes we need to really support each other. Blessings Monroe ❤
I agree I think the change in companies attitude about diversity is hitting every industry. If the company falls off diversity they never were sincere in the first place.
I loved your rant and your article you didn't miss a beat. Your can see the passion you have for it and our people. It takes guts to do it and I'm happy you are standing up for what is right
See, this is why you are my absolute favourite in this space. I absolutely love and support you anyway, but the fact you addressed the elephant....love you even more. I don't do luxury for all the reasons you mentioned. I am excited for your journey going forward. 😘👍🏽👏🏾😍❤️
I really enjoyed your video and I agree about the quiet in these industries. We’re only useful when they can commodify our suffering or when they fear losing black dollars. I would love it if you could do a few videos highlighting black owned businesses in a series so that we can support. I am pledging to support more black businesses in fashion and luxury because we need us.
You better preach!! Globally, DEI offices are closing, I believe it’s in legislature that recently passed at least in some gov sectors I am sure. It’s wild to have to explain how DEI not only helps us as people in general but a nation as a whole- nuts!! As always, I love your content and continue making moves because what if for you, is for you my dear!!! 💚💚💚 you’re such an inspiration ✨
I appreciate what you’ve said but We black and in business ALL year! This February I was invited to 2 major event where was not invited to the holiday season counterparts! The attention to my work was great… but I am creating Everyday… think of my work in May, January and October!
Yep, I noticed the same thing. Appreciate you mentioning it. To anybody reading my comment please use this as a reminder to vote this year and every year because local elections matter too!!!!!!🎉. Take a look at what is happening in Florida. Black square 🕶️. Im doing shades I can’t find a square 😂
Hats off to Monroe ❤ I luv how you worked and spoke about the divide and the left out in the fashion industry and for much of the world .... thank you and my God bless you 😊
Thank you for the commentary and speaking out. I will continue to support Black fashion brands. It is because of content creators like you, that I even know about these incredibly talented fashion designers. Keep up the good work.😍😍😍
Hi Monroe. Great vlog. Thank you for highlighting what is happening with inclusion in America. It is very scary and sad. I love what you said about creating our own seats. We really need to support each other esp now. ❤
I totally agree, I wanted to be in the fashion industry so bad. When I realized the politics I quickly changed directions. I will continue to make my own garment the way I wanted. Not worrying about anyone's opinion.
U are correct Monroe. Folks are upset about DEI. It’s been a lot of DEI backlash. Like u said, we need 2 support our on instead of boosting other brands. Enjoyed the fashion week insight. Something the consumers needed 2 know. ❤
Thank you Monroe. I really enjoyed this vlog. Just wanted to let you know I also noticed how quiet this Black History.Month was. Note: most of the mainstream media networks are owned by very wealthy conservative businesses that have very little diversity and don't care now. There is actually a group of private business people and some in the Federal Government who are actively trying to get rid of DEI offices, so they no longer are concerned about hiring women, minorities, LGBTQ or even handicapped people. The US & other countries are going backwards. It is important that women and minorities start their own businesses or work to expand current businesses and network with one another. I am trying to support more black owned & women owned businesses and look forward to seeing more of them develop. ❤🙏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I definitely agree that luxury brands need to be way more inclusive. I know I am not that I am not the only one who counts the number of black models in the fashion shows. You look stunning as always Monroe.❤
When you spoke on the lack of diversity I was cheering for you to say that you’re pivoting and you went right in the direction I trusted you to go. I’ve long supported the luxury brands that have a history of diversity and inclusion but even they have fizzled this year. There’s always chatter when we encourage creating our own spaces but if we didn’t our voices would never be heard and our talent would never be seen
Great conversation and yes, I have noticed watching other influencers that are non-black. They get all of the major invites and half of them don’t even know who to creative Directors are for that brand and they still get invited front row. Fashion industry is very harsh, very proud of you to keep pushing.
Hi Monroe Yes we see actually what is happening. When they feel they don’t have to see us, then yes, we are not in the front, second or third role. They forget that if we stop buying their products, that they would not exist. We must support our black own business. My granddaughter is five and half. She is an Influencer. Her mother started her from the age of 1 yrs old. You wouldn’t believe the nonsupport her own people will not give her. Sometimes our own people are why we can’t get ahead. We must learn how to support each other with love. STOP the hating for no apparent reason. We must stand together and hold each other up. There’s plenty room for all of us. Nothing wrong with supporting them, if it’s something you love. But don’t let us (black own business) be your second though. Thanks Monroe for all that you do. I always say to every/anyone I speak with, that you always up lift black designers and black own business. Love you and thanks for everything 🖤🖤🖤
Thanks for discussing the matter of "lack" when it comes to diversity in the fashion and beauty industry. I appreciate you championing and supporting black owned businesses during a very dry season of representation of black and brown people. Keep fighting the good fight. Blessings to you.
We are hearing you sis, it is very evident here in the UK, creating our own is the only way, and in my industry of work, I'm here for it and doing my bit!!!!
Diversity is cyclical: when there's an uproar _they_ create the departments. When the noise quiets, so do the funds for those departments in every industry. I love that you create your own opportunities & brand, and the concept of Harlem Fashion Row🎉
i don't know you but i really like you - you are good people! I. am in a season of letting go and letting in. Thanks for the inspiration and aspiration! Your rant was spot on and you are right about us all seeing. You are also right about the impact of being the sun, it brings out my superpower.
🎉 I did want to be in the fashion industry cause I started seeing a lot of our people modeling their clothes but we still need to have our own,I'm a firm believer in this. Thank for pointing this out, keep up owning your own brand.❤
Welcome home. Thank you for your insight, I saw the underplay for the overplay. during black history month And I stand on Black Brands. Quality is what black brands are giving, size inclusive and amazing looks Keep allowing your discerning spirit, to lead and guide you. ❤
U know what! That's why whenever I'm deciding to follow someone online especially my black people, I always look deeply within the hearts.. they have to be teaching me something about my community or history because I just look on luxury, brands or fashion 🤔 Monroe you are a beautiful human and I applauded you for standing firmly against exploitation of Black history month and black own businesses.."You have strength in your black skin. The soulful dust in it makes you the heir of the soil. Your skin is not black. Your skin is Cocoa".❤🖤🤎‼️
Thank you Monroe you are the first black influencer. I’ve heard talked about the loss of inclusion not just in fashion, but pretty much everywhere with this woke ideology that is being put out everywhere and you guys have a platform. I believe that should be informing people about what’s going on because pretty much all you see is people buying these expensive clothes and showing how pretty they are but not talking about what’s going on behind the scenes and we need to see that.
I’m seeing videos where a lot of our favorite content creators are saying the same thing about the top luxury fashion brands not letting you all in. I want to see other fashion brands showcased on these channels. Let the others have the top luxury brands. We already know about them. Let’s see more of “our” brands given the platform to shine. Let’s get them to the luxury pedestal they deserve to be on. Go where you’re celebrated!
Hey Monroe, I’m so glad you made a statement about DEI in the fashion industry. The shift is coming from the legislative efforts of these republican leaders. But I’m proud you’re making a big point to call it out as performative efforts from brands!!
You are on point in your comments on diversity and inclusion. It’s happening all over. Every aspect of life. We must take care of ourselves and do our own thing because they don’t want us except to steal our styles gifts and abilities.
Thank you for addressing these issues concerning the industry’s. What should we do concerning this issue with what is going on in the world? I stop shopping personally….You are amazing thank you for always showing up…..

You're so pretty and stylish ❤
Hello! Enjoy watching all of the fabulous people and events you let us tag along to see.
Keep up the good work.😍😍😍
Makeup was popping for the Mario event. I just love you you inspire my confidence and creativity. You are that girl.
Hi Monroe.
You be living the vida loca and I’m here for it! Your hard work and consistency is unmatched!
U are correct Monroe. Folks are upset about DEI. It’s been a lot of DEI backlash. Like u said, we need 2 support our on instead of boosting other brands. Enjoyed the fashion week insight. Something the consumers needed 2 know. ❤
You are spot on! You put so many brands on, I know you would be great at whatever you do. You're blessed. Keep going❤💪🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾
You are soooo right!! If we don’t pull your people WHO WILL??!!! I really appreciate you and your WOKE -NESS🙌🏾🙌🏾❤️
Thank you Monroe. You are so right, you stepped to the plate. Create your brand!!!♥
Hi Roro, happy to see that you’re back 😍 Look all of the black designers should come together and create their own fashion week 🙄 we Will Watch 👏🏽👏🏽
Great conversation and yes, I have noticed watching other influencers that are non-black. They get all of the major invites and half of them don’t even know who to creative Directors are for that brand and they still get invited front row. Fashion industry is very harsh, very proud of you to keep pushing.
Hi Monroe
Yes we see actually what is happening.
I love your absolute honesty, you say exactly how it is. Love your boldness, beauty inside and out ❤
Thanks for discussing the matter of "lack" when it comes to diversity in the fashion and beauty industry.
I appreciate you championing and supporting black owned businesses during a very dry season of representation of black and brown people. Keep fighting the good fight. Blessings to you.
Spot on in regards to the direction of the industry. There are a ton of "outside artisans " as a result.
Yes, I had been noticed that the fashion show who has been on the first and second seats I watch other content and fashion show content❤❤❤❤
What’s really amazing & I love about u is how u walk in heels & I never hear u complain ❤❤❤
Stay woke. Thanks for talking about it
Excellent content. I can relate. I live in Chicago and Phoenix. Keep on producing these beautiful vlogs.
Two of my favorite cities 😍
i don't know you but i really like you - you are good people! I. am in a season of letting go and letting in.
Thanks for sharing!!
I Iove your natural hair pattern but this blown out look is everything on you! You look like a movie star
Great vlog! Thank you for pointing out that there's so much work to be done. How soon they forget. We won't let them! Bravo Monroe!
I absolutely love and adore you…what you do and how you do it!!! 🙌🏽👏🏽✊🏽🫶🏽🙏🏽🖤🤎🧡✨💫
Thank you thank you you are one of the real one and your paying attention and being about the change love you Monroe
Hey Monroe, I’m so glad you made a statement about DEI in the fashion industry. The shift is coming from the legislative efforts of these republican leaders. But I’m proud you’re making a big point to call it out as performative efforts from brands!!
Always the v8bes, the VIP events and the sophistication. Thanks Monroe!! ❤❤❤❤❤
You are on point in your comments on diversity and inclusion. It’s happening all over. Every aspect of life. We must take care of ourselves and do our own thing because they don’t want us except to steal our styles gifts and abilities.
Our bicoastal fav is in these streets giving us fashion joy on a Thursday!
Thank you for addressing these issues concerning the industry’s. What should we do concerning this issue with what is going on in the world? I stop shopping personally….You are amazing thank you for always showing up…..
