Excellent movie. I only wish the ènding was a bit longer as I would like to see the brothers hugging each other with joy. I think this should have been a longer full movie. The acting is also good. As I have lived in London myself for many years I wondered why Jason didn't go straight to the house at Crossgate Avenue instead of feeling lost at the airport.
An unusual, sweet, and beautiful film! All of the actors did a great job, too!

Wow. It is beautiful. It is well crafted film. And some viewers could not comprehend that this is a short film and details are not necessary. The cinematography and even. the music is in harmony with every scenes. The actors are really good.

Ik heb hier geen woorden voor, het is meer dan goed, meer dan mooi en zeker meer dan een sterk verhaal. Deze 23 minuten pakken me nog meer dan die eindeloze films in de bioscoop van 90 minuten. Chapeau !

This is a good video. I know it is a short film and at the end of the day, he found what he was looking for and was not alone after all. There are two things I will end up obsessing over, 1) who and why was the guy at school bullying him and 2) why did the father need to suddenly leave and go to Amsterdam? Not so much as to why he left one son behind, as to the urgent manner in which he did it. I'd like to know the answer to both, but I'd think it was a great short if I had the answer to just one of these items.

A fair amount of foolish comments, but maybe folks will think my comments foolish also?
My father was in his 50s when he met an older half sister he never knew he had. He knew he had 3 brothers and a sister as he grew up near them though all were in foster care. Anyway, we always wondered why this woman connected with a brother she may not even have seen. We assume it was because she was alone (he husband died) and her daughter did not have time for her. And since this was decades before the internet, it could not have been easy for her to find him. Luckily, my family name is not common in some parts of the US.
And please remember, in the case of this movie, we don't see every minute of this guy's life, what look like plot holes may just be gaps that would have lengthened this film considerably.

I went to look for my sister when I was 21 she was 16 we were victims of a divorce. We had a good meeting...we talked for days...I had lost my best friend and lover ...I guess I needed someone in my life...what I found was not what I wanted and I guess it wasn't what she wanted either.. so we drifted apart again I haven't seen her in 45 years...so sad...
I know what you mean I lost touch with my mother and sister some 15 years ago. Now myself I'm a grandmother and got in touch with my 'bio-Dad' after 15 years without any contact. I fel rich now.

I think this could be a rough draft of the movie you want to make. Unfortunately you tried to introduce what may be subplots which only confused the story line.
Why do so many short films feel like rough drafts?

For example if I was a good hello
Good concept BUT horrible execution? He didn't know where to start BUT he had the address of the house, his brother's name, the Aunts name and access to the internet!!! He chose not to say "excuse me" but are you Charlie Carter at the restaurant but instead let him walk away???? I hope this was a student film because it would make sense for all the unthought out plot issues ?????.
I enjoyed this great work superb acting well done hope you will do a follow on.

Where did he get money from to go to London n y didnt he go to his old house 1st thing when he landed in london. Y was he looking 4 his brother at all other places when he hv never even seen him.
One bad actor , the guy who told him it was a bad idea to look for his brother! Others were good 👍

I know this ised very old just but ifed you do still readed commenting I thinked your movie was very good. Acting was pretty ofed good fore amatuers acting and photograhy was very good too even. Only thinged I cand wish was better was never you did gived explaining ofed why dided brothers geted divided so one geted ined Amsterdam and anothers ined London. I do thinked there should haved been more ofed explaining why and too how dided that happened. But that ised only ofed thing I could to see which I would wished was better. Too all ofed so I know it I writed badly. I geted beated badly by a vile and violent ofed man whened I was at 11, I am at 15 now, and I dided geted my head cracked and a TBI so now I haved still some ofed damaging ined there. sorry
The handling of the premise is astonishingly weak because it ignores the existence of available information through the internet, phones, a Craigslist post, etc. which most people would first think to use before hopping on a plane to go and search with no other information in hand. It is as if these kids were living in a vacuum without any of the technology available to all in the west. That, the script, some very bad or too low-key acting make the whole thing terribly weak.
That said, Dutch youngsters often leave home very late (compared to how that goes in many another country), and then most usually live not far from their family, making the want and need of family present and close by that much stronger than it is in for people from other countries. The kid, after being orphaned, has maybe an extra urgency about finding his brother because of that culture he grew up in.
Most anyone would be near to obsessed with finding a sibling they had just learned about, especially if in their teens and finding themselves with no family at all.

Émouvant, mais pas très clair. Peut-être faute de comprendre parfaitement les dialogues. Je ne sais pas si ce garçon est son frère. On ne voit aucune émotion sur les visages. Je suppose qu'il est tiré d'affaire, mais je reste sur ma faim. Tant mieux si pour une fois la famille a apporté une solution. Ce n'est pas toujours le cas. Elle apporte aussi beaucoup de déceptions et de souffrances.

Zach Tong Agree. And who were the two guys. And why did that guy rough him up in school.? Who is he talking to on the phone. He just happens upon his long lost brother (even tho it’s in his old neighborhood... in a foreign country) by accident? Then they walked to the brother’s house as tho they were old friend’s of a long time. Lots of lose ends here!
It's a short movie. Just like in reality you do not get every little detail explained. The fact that he's "roughed u" by that guy, the fact that he didn't perform well at school, the fact that he had no job right now, the fact that his dad passed away, all these things should make clear that he didn't have much to lose by making the trip to london. the two guys might have been some kind of voluntary social aid people. He was only 18, living by himself. Seems not unreasonable to assume something like that. He wasn't very smart in the way he tackled his search that's true but he's been Lucky. Sometimes people are Lucky, even the unlucky ones. His brother wasn't doing very well either currently so he didn't have much to lose either and perhaps he knew about a brother, perhaps... No lose ends, just a few open ends
