I had to come watch this today. In 1979, I was about 15 years old when Hair, the movie came out. I thought Berger was the most fascinating character and very good looking, I kind of fan-girled over him for most of the summer. I'm 59 now, will be 60 this November, and I still find Berger to be quite good looking! The clothing and hair styles in this movie make me nostalgic for the 70's : ) Rest In Peace Treat Williams.
Me, too, on both accounts. In fact, I used this film clip as an exam question, having my students state why it exemplified Transcendentalism/Thoreau/Emerson. They loved it and some even rented the movie afterwards to see the whole thing after I explained the plot. I cannot believe he is gone as he is one whom I just thought would be here with me until I was gone😢. RIP, Treat. ❤
Mine three, lol! Adore that scene, such a great ode to body, life and so utterly joyful. Didn't know he died, he and his talent will be missed. RIP George Berger/Treat Williams😭
This is one of the best scenes of the movie. Hair is the best musical of the last 50 years. Milos Forman made this Stage Musical into an A+ film. RIP Mr Forman ❤️👍📹🎬

I grew up on this movie! (my mom had it recorded on VCR) Had a huge impact on me - the music, the acting, the depth of it. Inspires me to this day - you can't hardly find a cooler, more lovable character than Berger.
RIP Treat Williams. 🙏🌹🕊 Hair was only my second favourite musical next to Sound of Music, and also the first of your work to grace my eyes as a kid and maybe not a coincidence that i found myself binging on Everwood just a couple months ago. You have left an imprint, and forever it shall remain. Rest easy. ❤
I never get tired of seeing this scene. Look at that mischivieous smile on Bergers faces, when the woman (the mother?) says "you got a hell of a nerve. . . . "
This scene. And the one with Mr Berger and the MP are not only two of the best movie scenes of 1979, but also brutally encapsulate the GENERATION GAP as it existed in that era. KUDOS to director Milos Forman for such believable depictions!!!!!
YES!! And let's don't forget the choreography of the brilliant Twyla Tharp. There is no way Berger would have navigated that beautifully set table without her.

RIP Milos Forman you were a one of a kind of director. And a fellow Czech!! ❤️💜
I have always loved the movie version of this musical but Mrs Garret being into Berger and dancing on a table is it's own special thing. Though I am sure Blair would be horrified.
The conversation between Burger and the thing that did not care means so much more to me now that I'm old enough to understand that they really do not care. And it now hits me that Burger was talking about himself fighting (dying) for those who do not care. Story foreshadowing at its finest, sadly, due to its being rooted in so much truth.
OMG,I love her! That's Annie Golden at 1:15, She's one of the first ladies of the New York punk and new wave scene in the 70s. She's the lead singer of the Shirts. I just saw they're rare performance on Top of the Pops from youtube today. Great performance! P.S. Her best known solo hit is Hang Up the Phone from the movie Sixteen Candles in 1984.
