- Oddly enough, it's not often that we find ourselves in Texas for a Cash Days. So it was a treat to be in Dallas at an OG Limpy street race, watching small tire cars compete for a $5,000 into the early morning hours. With a good mix of familiar racers and new cars, we knew we were in for a solid night! Little did we know we would get some drama, as one racer broke the rules..or did he? Watch to see everything unfold!

This was me last week. 5:15am on my way to work dozens of cars and trailers wrapping up and leaving. Its a busy road too right outside an airport.

@@jasonquartermile425 that’s because KC runs a 29x10.5, years ago there was a big thing about no 29’s because the added sidewall gave an advantage etc etc. then they started allowing it. As I’ve said a million times, a 1/4” on the street ain’t shit and it wasn’t even a issue UNTIL he beat Ryan.....Ryan is a good dude but that shit was pettty IMO

Man, you're racing to win money, not cruising on a Saturday night looking for trouble. Of course they all trailer their rigs.
If someone calling their car a street car, then drive it on the street. If I call out, or get called out and they show up with their car on the trailer after I drove mine from driveway to track or "mexico", I'm done. It's not worth my time. If they want to race a racecar, then I'll bust out the racecar and trailer that to the location. This is the equivalent of a Honda fan boy thinking a straight pipe will put his car in the 10s. Street car or racecar. Not the same thing.

Its these gray areas that ruin racing, it comes down to interpretation of rules, taking the high route doesnt always pay bills but it helps you sleep at night lol. Let me explain it like this, if no-one else at the race is on Ws chances are you shouldnt be, common sense.
I thought it was pretty universally understood that "small tire" means no "W", but yeah, they should have made it clear.

Hell yea on the father son crew. When i was a kid/teen my father was going for a 9 sec street e36. We would drive to MIR and I would have the passenger and rear seats out , tire pressure and sometimes do a tire change in 15/20 mins after arriving.
Never been to MIR and been in this state all my life. That bitch too far away. But they closed down the closer track to me
I remember doing the same till Hawaii took our track away and started to go street for a while but wasn't worth it good times

@@chelly9456 yup 9.93 at 159 sometime in 07 . We hit a few goals , 1000whp 328, 700whp on stock internals and 9 sec pass . Very hard to do at the time no one made anything for thats chassis and power in the early 2000s. Everything was one off. Driveshaft shop made us the 1st set of axles and driveshafts for e36 and sent them out for free. Still have one of the prototypes in the garage that was a lil too girthy lol

Ryan Mitchell is the man! He’s super nice, super humble, and a genuine straight up guy! I’ve talked with him personally and is damn smart at setting up cars to run very well and measures everything humanly possible so that every aspect of the car is measurable and KNOWS the changes he makes and can measure the change and how the car is working!

The rules say no bigger than 29x10.5, 29x10.5w has always been known to be bigger. He knew what he was doing bringing those tires, especially since he tried to shave the W off the sidewall so nobody would know.

Came back to rewatch this banger, this is honestly one of the best Cash Days. KC Max showcased his new setup. Tons of close races. The atmosphere is almost foggy-like, and no cops to ruin the day. 💯
The whole tire thing made me remember how stupid that argument was. Dude got kicked for having a "wider tire" when in fact his tire was narrower.
I guessed the cheating was going to be an onboard sprayer for shoe glue. If they didn't say no W's then they should be allowed. I like Limpy's races but I ain't a fan of "it's always been that way".
They shaved the markings off the tire, I'm sure they totally thought they were within the rules though... cut this technicality bullshit, this is the street, not the track.

The rule was max tire size 29.5x10.5 and technically 29.5x10.5w is wider than a 29.5x10.5 meaning it is not allowed. The W in and of itself is okay but if it means the tire is bigger than the outlined limit everyone knew than it is not allowed
Everyone who races small tire knows that and so did the guy who tried it or he wouldn't have rubbed the W off.
as much as i enjoy watching street racing it always gives me anxiety with how close the cars are and potential for cops. it's a shame there arent more tracks available around the country to make events like this easier.
And the ones that are in this area have some pretty solid safety rules they cannot bend on if they want to stay open and have insurance. Which means there will always be a class of racers who street race to avoid the hassle. Been that way since the first sanctioning body

Although highway racing is fun its extremely dangerous for other motorists but a close circuit road like this is the way to go! 🙌🙌👍

For it to be on TV it would have to actually be legal in some aspect, for example, you never see 1320 at a street outlaws event right? Point is this is real street racing, not a bunch of guys and a TV crew drag racing on a street that's beside a dragstrip or has been shut down by the city for the specific purpose of shoot a film.
