  • The Okuma Surf-8K long casting surf spinning reel features the latest technology to give the angler the ultimate distance on every cast. Today’s anglers want lightweight reels that they can cast all day and have extreme capacity for the ultimate in distance. The Surf-8K was built to be the top caster in its category.
    The Surf-8K long casting spinning reel was designed with the leading surf fisherman around the country. The Surf-8K features graphite rotor, side plates and frame for light weight feel and durability. The aluminum tapered spool gives minimal resistance for free line release creating extreme distance. Another key technology in the Surf-8K reel is the slow oscillation system. This slower oscillation system gives an exceptional line lay upon retrieve, and is optimized for use with braided line.
    “As fuel prices continue to increase, we see an increase in participation of shore fisherman,” states John Bretza, Product Development Manager. “The new Surf-8K gives the angler the option to cruise the beach and make extremely long casts out to where the game fish are roaming.”
    The Surf-8K long casting spinning reel brings its technology to one key size, the 8K. The Surf-8K contains 6 total stainless steel ball bearings and features a fish stopping 40lbs of drag pressure with its carbonite drag washers.
    The key features on the Surf-8K spinning reels include the tapered spool system for reduced resistance and extreme casting distance. The slow oscillation system and cyclonic flow rotor keep your line lay even and dry. The Surf-8K also has a machined aluminum screw handle design as well as machined aluminum anodized spool with LCS lip to reduce wind knots.
    The Surf-8K spinning reel have a retail price of $99.99 and backed by a 1-year warranty. For more information, please visit www.okumafishingusa.com.

    Just got mines today. I packed 500 yards of 30lb braid on this bad boy!. Literally empty the line spool on it. Stoked

    Its a very superb reel and value for the money in my opinion. Fast progressive drag,manual bail, slow oscillating spool and a heck of alot of space for thick lines if that's what you're into. What more could u ask for? I used 50lb powerpro braid with and paired it with the surf 8k rod and really leaned into it. Casts like a dream and the retrieve was near effortless. Recommended to pair this with atleast 13-15ft rod. Tried many reels with long spools like this and most of them feel like crap. But not this reel. I've become a fan👍

    This reel looks awesome... 1 question though... what is the level of sealing in this real? Prob the most important aspect on the beach.

    • @bosesebi6685
      @bosesebi6685 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      the level is endles if you fill up all nooks and casing with gearcase lube like I did with my 3 8k-s
      and one more thing that says a lot, main shaft is 7 mm thick !

      @@bosesebi6685 how loud is the drag alarm? And will the side cover simply come off without having to take the entire reel rotor all of that apart?

      Drag sound is fine, just right. And you will have to take the rotor of to remove side cover.@@horseblinderson4747

      If so, can you link me the ebay ad where you bought it from? It seems here in the US, finding a shallow spool okuma surf 8k model is hard.

      You can use these for sharks from the shore. With up to 40lbs of drag, you should have plenty of stopping power.

    0:55 where do y'all find these middle aged overweight dudes in "NASCAR" jackets but instead of NASCAR it's whoever gives them free stuff, the biggest patch going to the company that gives them the most expensive stuff?
    How does having bearings or not stainless or not affect hook sets or not? Last I checked it doesn't, more a feature of your rod.
