Looks great Andy👍🏻 One thing i would do differently is use the empty pie tin beforehand and mark out how much pastry you need for the top by tracing about 5mm around the edges of the upturned pot so you dont end up with as much offcuts as puff pastry loses its puff once you start rerolling it and thus you have a small untouched remainder of pastry to use for other things and less waste😁
Thanks yeah, though I haven’t wasted the excess pastry I cut off, what I do is roll it out, add brown sugar, honey and sultanas, roll it up like a log put in the oven for around 25 minutes and you end up with some lovely sweet pastry 👍🏻 But yeah I know what you are saying thanks 👍🏻
Hi Andy,I get why you made this pie,and I know that you used the left over pastry ,but it would have been so much easier for you to fit the pastry if you cut it more to the size of your tin,and if you have a round pie plate that would also make things easier.Bake the filling in the pie dish,and it will fit better,it will still shrink giving you room for the pastry after the meat is cooked,and finely if you wanted pastry wrapped meatloaf like this again,it would be easier,and quicker to just wrap your precooked meat in the pastry,and bake.You know Andy I’m an old Pastry Chef,always thinking how to make things easier.Have a good day,I always enjoy,thanks 😊

Looks nice Andy but I like Snake & Pygmy in my pies. Where did you get the Chinese Salt from? A takeaway near me used to put this lovely salt on their chips but it closed down a few years ago, they were the best ever Chinese chips.
No just do what I did in the video, and then put it in the oven for around 30 minutes you should get the same results, are you going to do the pie or have the meat in pitta bread? Go to my play list and look for homemade food I did one on there homemade Doner using a kilo of meat, the only reason I ask is if you are not doing it in a pie then you need around 45 minutes in the oven wrapped in foil. Have a look at the other video, any thing else you need to know just ask 👍🏻

Thats a well filled pie , got me thinking , cook the meat let it stand then slice , grill or fry couple mins , freeze the rest , better than the frozen bags of kebab meat you can bye
Maybe not but really just highlighting to pukka that’s the way a doner kebab pie should be done, instead of the pukka one, yeah do prefer my doner meat in a wrap or pitta bread, but saying that it was nice 👍
