    I have absolutely no idea why I find these MRE videos so compelling, but they are strangely soothing. Like sitting down to a meal with a total stranger another world or another lifetime away. I can imagine some cold soldier stealing a moment of personal humanity sipping sweetened milk in a world of chaos. Thx Kbsh’d

      It's the unboxing aspect and the shared experience. I started the MRE collecting and eating hobby 4 years ago and it's an obsession that is still fresh today.

    We used Russian crackers to make temp repairs in out boat. We ground them up and added a small amount of water to make a thick paste, then plastered it in the hull. Worked great for about 11 days until we got to Rybovich

    I remembered the sweet condensed milk from your Belarus mre video, I immediately thought Eric is going to love that. It would be nice if components from mre’s were available for purchase. Some of the European mre’s have “over the counter” or “off the shelf “ elements that would be great for creating your own custom mre.

      Sweetened condensed milk is available everywhere. You can usually find it on the baking aisle.

      @Olyphoto7 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SusanLand thank you, I have it in a can, but don’t remember seeing it in such a portable container. There are a bunch of other items in European and British MRE’s that would be nice to easily pick up.

    • @SusanLand
      @SusanLand ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Olyphoto7 It is available in the squeezy bags, although they can be a little harder to find. I like the squeezy bags best because they are easy to reseal, unlike having an open can in the fridge. Try mixing in a little cinnamon and pouring it over your pancakes sometime.

    Hello, about the condensed milk, you can use it in different ways, for example you used sugar in a tea, we can use it with crackers, we can use it with the tea to replace sugar, or coffee, also there is energising drink, which is made with tea, coffee and the condensed milk and youll get some energising drink more concentrated than red bull, also you can drink it without everything so youll get enough fast calories for the day, also if youll boil it for 2 hours you will get very similar thing to toffee

    Great video, as always.
    & At least in India, you'd use the condensed milk in tea. Our ex army Gurkha guide served those in my village. Best tea ever & I hate tea. 😄
    also, the fruit drink thing looks like a Kompot mix.

    The tea is called Maisky Chai. I ordered a couple boxes of it after trying it in the Russian rations. Another good tea is Greenfield Golden Ceylon. It comes in the Lithuanian rations. Both available on Amazon.

    It's hard to comment on something that you haven't tasted but you made me think and I remembered that I had some MREs from 15 years ago I am curious to see what they taste like now as I had forgotten about them I suppose I need to go through what little food I've got put back and make sure they're okay and see if I still got any old MREs anyway I will come back to this and let you know if that MRE was any good see you in a few well more than a few I will hit the notification Bell three times to let you know that I have tried it so in addition to how long it is now it's going to be even longer or I could add a separate call me I'm not supposed anyway later

      Do not order from sanctioned countries! Ordering from Russian or Belarus is 100% of the time getting ransacked. Latvia and Estonia also have high ransacking rates so try from Kazakhstan I’ve had amazing luck getting around 10 Russian rations through Kazakh although customs did look at the packages they never opened them.

    Any Russians here? I always wonder just how official these types of Russian rations are as they look much more commercial than MREs/IMPs here in North America. I have peanut butter packed like that milk, it is more expensive so I just pack it as a survival ration. I see you have the Humangear Uno spork; we have a ton of them and they are our go to for work lunches, my spouse uses hers at home too. I put a few new ones away in case I lose the others. A most excellent spork.

    "room temperature water"? Imagine what that means right now in Ukraine, below zero. I also noticed that the cooking stove had the standard 3 three tablets, the extra two will come in handy to at least warm up a foxhole for those guys. Now sure which is worse, below freezing all day each day or the desert heat. I have worked in near freezing weather fixing fighters and it wasn't fun, but must admit that it was raining as well. Freezing cold and wet is no fun.
