I feel you. I learned English, French and Chinese Mandarin with a huge focus on grammar and it took me double of time to start to become conversational. With German, instead, I only learned the really basic grammar and I started to become conversational in months. Focus on what is really important for you to learn according to your daily life. You can do it!
This is good, the only thing I always like more is hearing the sentences first in English and then in Spanish. So I pay more attention. It's easier for me to remember. I know what to expect.

A mi me gusta mucho escuchar a los nativos hablando el castellano com rapidez natural. Le verdad es que no hace falta hablar en ingles. Me alegro escuchar e enterder un video entero en el castellano (it gives a great sense of achievement) e es un ejercicio excelente para que no (we don’t get flabbergasted ) cuando alguien nos habla por la calle por ejemplo. Hola! It's a great question. From my experience with my Mexican friends and colleagues, I don't think there are any big issues with understanding each other. The fact that we use different expressions doesn't mean we don't understand :)
¡Hola! In my opinion, finding an intrinsic motivation is the real secret to success in learning a language. Maybe you want to be able to speak to friends / colleagues in Spanish, or you are planning to live in a Spanish speaking country in the future, or you are in love with the music / culture, or simply because learning a language has so many benefits in your self-esteem and the way you see yourself. Whatever you think it can have a deeper feeling for you. That would be my advice ☺️

He’s actually speaking quite slowly. You have the option of both reading the subtitles and of slowing down the video. If he slows down much more you lose the fluidity of the Spanish.
