For already painted bodyshells I use the BittyDesign magntic markers. They slide on the body posts. Mount the shell, and let the magnets position on the body post caps. Really useful.
Great video again Alexander Hagberg. I can see why you are so good at your job. I like the fact that you explained why you paint your practice body fluorescent green. I wonder what the basic kit you need to race Touring cars are. The costs involved to get setup for racing. Nice paint job and you have great skills with the Callipers. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I like your reference to Masami Hirosaka.
Thanks Darren. I'm glad that you liked the video. If you're looking to get into touring cars, and need advice on what parts to get etc. Don't hesitate to send me a private message or email, and I will try to sort you out!
With anything moving through air with less than 60 mph and this small the effects of aerodynamics are so small (less than 0.01%) that it will hardly be measurable, let alone be noticable in the real world . . . .
Hi Alex, I am a close follower of all your great videos and a big fan of xray. Will you consider doing a clip of discussing the various choices of xray adjustable battery holders, e.g., alum vs brass version, vs shorty lipo version, etc., when to choose which version to use and what do you recommend. I haven't been able to find anything related online. Thanks again for your effort on making these great clips!
Another amazing.video !!! very nice and explanatory. Is it ok for asphalt the body ground clearance of 8mm or I should aim a little bit higher i.e 8.5 mm ?
@@hagberg one more question: should we first paint the body (case with one color with spray can) and then cut the wheel arches or we can paint the body after cutting the wheel arches?
Hi alexander. Great tutorial 👍🏼. So can you make a tutorial of how to make the bodysheel of 200mm IC car’s. I think It’s a little diferent about EP car’s. Thank you 😉
@Alexander Hagberg - What about the body clip placement for racing? Do you suggest using the body post hole the nearest to the body shell for the clip, thus preventing little to no upward travel of the body shell, or do you use the next higher body post hole for the clip, allowing free upward travel all around of a few millimeters?
You can easily cut the bodyposts shorter to your liking, use a side cutter or scalpel (hobby knife). I've made other videos about horizontal mounting (trend that started in 2020): th-cam.com/video/wIJLni4Ev5o/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/iC7DfODllo4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=iGHXqJruZ3z7DGXd
Hi Alexander, This is truly the best way anyone has ever showed me, Thank You, I tried it and like magic body and wells fitted like a glove. Just wanted to ask, should there also be around an 8mm gap in between the top of the tire and the well? (inside the wheel well) problem I get sometimes is the tire rubbing on the inside of the well as the car leans.
Thanks, I am glad that you liked the video! I don't usually measure that gap, but I do apply chrome tape or repair tape to the area in side of the bodyshell where the tire is touching on suspension compression! This will reduce the friction in that spot, and also limit any damage to the bodyshell.
Hi Alexander. Great tutorial:) I had one question. How long is the spacer bolts by the body shell well marking tool and where can i by it? Thank you :)

@@constantinosdrakakis897 it comes down to personal preference. I usually do it after the body has been painted.

Make sure that the body isn't tight, and has at least 1-2mm of play!
Hi what if my kit is a new one with new body post which haven’t been cut shorter?
Also what about rear horizontal post? Is it a trend now?

Hi Alexander. The spacer is 10mm long. The item is from RC KleinKram (part number RCK-WCB)
Great tutorial!!! With a painted body shell why don't you use a magnetic body mounting kit?
I've tried it before, but never particularly liked this method, as I found it difficult to be consistent with it.
@@hagberg Ah yes i find its not 100% accurate! It can be off a milimeter or two on the sides.
Nice tutorial but why the need for the wheel well jig when most bodies are already marked for the cut out lines?
Because most often then not, we mount the body in a way where the wheel wells aren't centralised. And that also depends on your wheelbase.
Are these dimensions universal numbers for other bodies such as bittydesign tc bodies etc?
Not exactly, which body do you need dimensions for?
Hi Alexander,
Are these measurements the same for the x4?
Yes, since the front bodyposts are in the same spot on the X4 like on the T4.
Hi, Alexander.
Thank you so much for the video.
Please tell me the product name and product number of the wheel cutting tool.

What is the oring from you use on rhe body post?? Only one i have found to fit are quite thin
They're either 972030 if you're referring to the larger clear ones
. Or 970050 for the thin black ones.
