    I have an older model Epson tw-5820. So this new Epson projector also has 2 remotes. The android tv dongle that came with the projector has its own remote in case you want to use it on another display. I have no need for it as I'm using Nvidia Shield TV pro. The lack of proper audio out that supports surround sound is a big letdown. But i suppose it's to keep the projector more affordable.

    • @edsystemeu
      @edsystemeu  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your comment. Yes two remotes could be also a nice thing if you decide to use dongle somewhere else. Thats a good point.

    Very nice review! I have it. Screen quality is great, but 2 biggest cons are: lack of audio output (bt only with dongle Connected) i bought hw hdmi audio extractor, and lack of celling screws...

    • @edsystemeu
      @edsystemeu  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your reaction. Yes, it would be nice if projector had at least two HDMIs or some kind of optical audio output. I have used HDMI ARC with my soundbar or you can use audio extractor as you have wrote. Well and then celling screws... again they would be nice to have, but it can be done even without them.

    • @_Archos
      @_Archos 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there ! @@filmformuk . Nope I couldn't find a way to connect 2 different devices to the unique HDMI port but... read this:
      After 1 week thinking about what could I do to fix the delay... I randomly tried to watch a movie by streaming it from my mobile (for example with netflix app).
      Once I was watching the movie on my projector through my mobile I could get a huge increase in volume level (because the delay wasn't only my main problem... I also had an issue where with the bluetooth connection I was getting a pretty low max. volume with the sounbar).
      So, it seems that after I streamed a movie with the mobile phone (just once), the max volume quality was unlocked ( do not asked me why xD; but it was a relief for me). I mean, after that one time watching a movie with the mobile; I no longer use the mobile to stream ... just the projector.
      After this issue with the volume was resolved... the only thing annoying me it was the delay.
      Then I realized there were some additional settings with the projector Remote Control: If you use the Sound control button (the button with a gear), you will find the "AUDIO SYNC, NIGHT MODE" and "VOICE ENHANCE" . I turned those 2 to ON (since they were previously off).
      And somehow, after doing all these things (streaming with mobile + AUDIO SYNC ON + VOICE ENHANCE ON)... I would swear I no longer notice the delay and I got the max volume level the soundbar can display.
      I Hope this also works for you. I'm sorry I couldn't find other ways to connect them to a single HDMI Port. Good luck.

    • @_Archos
      @_Archos 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@filmformuk Hi there! Nope I couldn't figure out how to do it but... read this:
      After 1 week trying to connect 2 devices to a single HDMI port, I decided to try watching a movie on the projector through my mobile phone (for example through the Netflix app). . . since apart from the delay problem, I had another problem which was that I had a fairly low maximum volume level with the Bluetooth connection of my soundbar. After doing this test of watching something through the mobile, somehow the maximum volume level that my sound bar supports was unlocked (which was a relief for me).
      After doing this, I realized that the projector controller had some additional options: if you press the "sound control" button (the button with a gear pattern), you get 2 modes called "AUDIO SYNC, NIGHT MODE" and "VOICE ENCHANCE", and turned both on (at least I had these options with my soundbar; try to find something similar with yours).
      In short, after having streamed a movie with my phone and having activated those 2 modes with the remote, both the volume and delay problems were solved, or at least I barely notice the delay now.
      Sorry for answering so late. I hope this can help you too. Any progress, feel free to ask me again here. Luck!

    Very good review, also very good that you talked about the power consumption of this projector, especially imported these days with high electric price.
    I my self use a LG led projector for ordinary tv replacement, that is only 720 p ( HD reddy) but sufficient for watching talk shows etc, this LED projector consumed only 45 watt for 550 Ansi lumen light output, sufficient bright to make a 90 inch projection.
    This Epson wil be brichter but at higher electric bill, and eventually the xenon lamp will burn out around 12.000 ( LED is rated for 30.000 hours) what is the cost of a replacement lamp and IS it replaceble?
    Otherwise for movies a great solution, way nices than most flatscreen tv's
