Ultimately, the goal is to realize the truth about the self, which leads to the state of no mind, fearlessness, and true freedom

It is our own creation of many lives. I had opted out to take birth, why? Look at a person on his death bed. So many desires. The prana leaves the body carrying the MIND, with all desires . This mind is searching for another body...In short, once you attain No Mind, you reach the Budha State. ...
I too had similar questions. It took 40 years for me to get convinced, as I am not Ramana Maharshi or Shankaracharya.

There are no attainments in non duality. You already are. It is a pathless path, a gate-less gate.
