I hope they add a mini map and a little more hand holding, I'm glad they have a way to get rid of the spiders. I think I will play this but it will be a challenge for me for sure 😅
Glad to see that you were able to review this with free reign to say what you feel. Especially after all the problems a few months back with "that one game".
I never sign any contract if my voice and opinion is diminished. So the first thing I check is to make sure the devs and publisher are giving me complete freedom, otherwise I decline
I sat down to play this game for a short time and ended up playing for 8 hours 😂 its so hard to put down. I may have missed this but didn't hear you mention that the inventory is unlimited. That is one more thing to love about this game ❤
My main questions are if you change professions does it reset your progress? Am I trading 100% of a profession for another? Are there relationships with villagers or are they only there to provide you with shops? When I say relationship, I'm mainly talking about friendships. Are they flat characters that only run a shop or give you a quest, or will they be more friendly with you and maybe talk about/with other townies?
You can have diff professions at one time, it just becomes more expensive to pick more than two (goes from 500 to 10K coins). As for villagers, they have quests to give you, but there are no heart events or friendship events as we see in farming games, for example (this is not a farming game at all)
you can own all professions, however i realized something that all professions benefit from each other like cooking and brewery black smith and jeweler fishing with the pirate hunting thing archeology is the only one i havent done but yeah if you wanna be optimal you fan pair them accordingly but tbh im fishing and being a jeweler chill game lemme tell ya
Hm.... not sure yet. I love the art and music and the job system (fantasy life? When will you release?!). Wish there were romanceables and wish there was more guidance. Not a fan of getting stuck and having to look things up in order to continue. May need to look more into it before deciding but thanks for the overview!
This game really grew on me overtime. I initially hated it! 😆 and I even asked steam for a refund but they couldn’t give it to me because I was one hour over the two hour limit to qualify but I ended up loving the game ❤️
I had this feeling with a few games in the past where i hate the game, put the game down for a few months or yr, come back and try the game again and love the game to the point it becomes one of my top 10 games ever. I did this with Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Hollow Knight, and Kena Bridge of Spirts. All 3 are now in my top 10 favorite games of all time. 😂
I’m trying to decide between this and the MySims cozy bundle. I plan to get both but I don’t know which to choose first. Thank you so much for your awesome reviews!
They're very different! This one is very slow paced, grindy game with massive focus on gathering resources and exploring Whereas MySims is two games, one is a lot about decorating and building fun designs and the other one is about a fun story to follow, with no combat at all (unlike Luma Island)
@MissBubbles I'm definitely going to get both. Both are right up my ally, and MySims is so nostalgic, and Luma Island seems like a cozy type of grindy game that is good for a distraction💖
I have wishlisted this game, thanks so much for the review, I don't see any faults with the game but I've just picked up 3 new games recently and I still play an MMO.. so little time.. so many games.. /cry.
Still a bummer that they removed the lost on death part for archelogy and caves, so now you can just brute force those puzzles without any risk. But at least the rest of the game is fun to play. Also on the no need to go to bed, though you still have a fade to black at some time and then skip a few hours.
thanks for the review Bubbz! this definitely looks like a fun indiana jones kind of time and i welcome that😂😂(even though i dont know anything about indiana jones really) i do like my cozy games to hold my hand a little bit but the fact that there isn't much of that here wont bother me this time.
I've seen mention of difficulty levels, and am curious on how easy it makes things. I'm honestly just tired with combat in "cozy" games and don't have the spoons for it much anymore so, wondering how much the difficulty levels differ as it otherwise looks right up my alley.
The higher difficulty levels means you have to go deeper into caves and more into the forest to discover temples and ruins, meaning, you are exposed to the spiders and enemies a lot more
@@MissBubblesThanks so much for that explanation. I'm still on the fence, though the combat doesn't seem too in your face? I'd definitely be using the arachnophobia mode too lol Maybe someone will create an invincibility mod like in SDV if there's modding in the future heh
@ it becomes a bit more aggressive when you venture into the forest as well as temples and caves there, but upgrading your whip will make it easy for you to take them down with 1-3 hits
Everyone seems to like this game but i keep watching reviews and gameplay and it just doesnt click. Either way, its not expansive so maybe i try it anyway just to give it a chance.
I wish this was on the Switch, I actually really wanna try this game but I don’t do PC games 😭 Physical disability makes it a bit hard to play PC games unfortunately, otherwise I’d play the second it drops
Hey fox! I went for so long waiting for the GOOD cosy games coming out on switch and sifting through all the rubbish games on switch. Talked myself into getting a steam deck. I sat on it for years and finally cracked and had the time of my gaming life😅But the size was worrying as I suffer from pain in my hands and arms but it can take a controller. But love it ❤hope your well
this game only looks good if u do very short play sessions due to the lack of stuff to actually do, All i see is this game getting dull do to the professions are nothing more then a cookie clicker for gold. there is no health, no hunger, no weather that effects u, there is no real end game just explore and done. in the end this is not a long term game it is just a little farm game to pass time that has no real objective to grind for besides just opening up the rest of the map that will lead u to the same stuff u been doing from the start.. make more money.
I didn't find any particular element of this game to be much fun. It works, it's fine, it isn't fun. Way too much taking fourteen hits to break a rock or knock down a tree, even after several tool upgrades.
My friend, THIS is why you are a PRO in the creator space! I feel like, in a fifteen minute timespan, I now understand the essence of this game without having watched a single trailer or spent a second in a demo. Not to mention, when I inevitably dive in, I feel equipped to succeed from the get-go. What a breath of fresh air this is to the indie life/farm sim scene! The art style (and even some of the menu UI) reminds me of old school MMORPGs, especially Runescape - it's got an extra dose of nostalgia amping up my excitement for it. Thank you for covering this with honesty and excellence as always
@@MissBubbles Listen, my hearts yearns for archaeology, okay? I've been playing an archaeologist in D&D for two years and it's helped me fall in love with the field...but I also don't wanna be THAT sadistic to myself from the get-go 😂 maybe I'll start with Brewer so I can have a fancy fictional vineyard instead 🥰

Ive watched a few reviews and this one sold it for me and my son. very fair review and great tips thanks man.
I hope they add a mini map and a little more hand holding, I'm glad they have a way to get rid of the spiders. I think I will play this but it will be a challenge for me for sure 😅
The caves are sooo creepy and def a challenge. And I do hope for a QoL update to include a minimap, it's much needed
In my opinion the game does not need more hand holding. It’s very easy to figure things out just by playing. Mini map would be great though.
I had so much fun playing the demo. I think this will be in my top 3 games for the year. Can't wait for tomorrow!
It was a big surprise for me!

@ see that’s why my girl and I follow you! We’re looking at playing Luma Island together. Do you recommend for couples?
@ yes! But make sure to play together on the same save file cause if you join a game, you need to restart your character
I am so excited because I really enjoyed the demo! Excited to see you and Josh team up again too :D

Just got it, playing and listening 😂
Which profession did you start with??
Omg this game looks so cute! Has anyone played this on the steam deck? Does it run well?
Yes! It runs well on Steam Deck
THanks.. you've made my decision making is much much easier.

great review!
I need suggestions!! What game can i get that look like this one but on Xbox!
Thank you!!
actually if you click on the quest it shows you where in town the npc is
Many thanks for the video! How is multiplayer in your opinion? I really would like to play this online but with random players.
In this livestream I played it with my friend, Josh and we went over the issues we had: th-cam.com/users/liveRU0qjKfprSA?si=I2gsQTcJk2jT_BNZ

Let me know if you enjoy it when you play
Can you do things tied to other professions if you pick a specific profession? IE : Can you do a touch of farming if you take Blacksmith?
You can unlock all the professions, it just costs more to learn each additional one.
Yes you can as long as you unlocked it with the previous profession!
@@MissBubbles Thank you. Given it's on 20% in spite of some less than stellar reviews, I'll give 'er a go!
@@Warrickomega let me know what you think!
@@MissBubbles Will do when I get to put in more time on it! Just did the initial tutorial before I had to pop to do other things.

Day #1 of waiting for miss bubbles to play "The Game" 👀
NOOOOOOOO
in their discord they said they have more map updates coming
Thanks as always... I think I'm gonna get cuz it's really hard to overlook it😊
Which profession do you think you'll go with first?
@@MissBubbles Probably like you a cook😉
THANK YOU for saying you can turn off the spiders. I HATE spiders I don't know why they have to be in every game.
THE ONLY THING THAT WAS PREVENTING ME FROM BUYING! 😂 Thank you for this comment!
you DONT switch professions you ADD it, you can do every profession
can i ask, what a pet can do? cz they have tittle helper but they just eat luma food and gift luma energy (?)
Dogs and cats can help you dig up treasure!
@@MissBubbles thanks for ur respond :D
how to get more seeds in the beginning? i have no more money to buy more seeds
Catch shrimp and harvest sea weed, sell them for quick money and buy seeds
@MissBubbles ty!
Thanks I loved the demo esp the grind & exploring. Will buy it with your link later x
Thank you sm!🫡
Where is the First Ancient key?

And sales are always around so you can pick it up then!
Does the profession system remind you of Fantasy Life ?
EDIT: Welp, you said it at the end of the review lol. Definitely going to check it out then :P
Hahaha it deffo does 😍
Why can't you move or destroy buildings you built?
You can move your facilities!
knew you are lebanese from the necklace
