I am twice your age + some, and I’ve only known this phenomenal band for one year, but ten and 20 yrs ago there was not really a major export of music from Japan to the West (or anywhere) - the only thing the greedy and soulless mainstream producers wanted was the exposure of mindless K-PoP. and so underground bands like _Mass_ didnt have a chance except thru even more extreme underground channels - despite the advances of internet sharing back then. It makes me sad, as MotFD was clearly WAY more than just a musical experience for the audience and fans, but something altogether *_beyond_* what was known and experienced in all of Music to date - and it was more than music, as is captured here - what I mean is like you could have three completely different musicians emulate this song perfectly, but it *would not* convey the raw energy and power, the *_Spirit_* behind this music - and THAT is what is so captivating. It is the _Egregore_ of this band. Ive never heard this song until five minnnits ago, and it immediately gave me chills and goosebumps like I haven’t had in years…I can only imagine what this was like to experience Live. Even tho Im superficially familiar with their discography as available on Apple music, I knew there was so much more that WASNT available on that mainstream distributor but only available on places like this (if we’re lucky), and even more obscure media like long forgotten cell fones, SD cards and 7” records ✌️ I felt the same way when I was a preteen, thinking that all of the great music that came out in the 60s and 70s was an experience that I had sadly missed the boat. Don’t think like that. You and I are in a much better position to appreciate music from the perspective dozens of years down the road, with the luxury of being able to compare it to everything else we have available. So take heart my bro ❤️ wishing you the best, I work with teenagers and I can tell you what you probably already know, that there are not many people in yr generation who appreciate stuff like this - even less, they have fallen for the trap of hack talent rap artists (I love rap) because only for the Mainstream Media told them it was coOl to listen to 🎧 and not because most of that sht has any actual merit or positive Spirit. Keep loving Music *no matter What it is* - appreciate that you don’t live in some totalitarian shthole that forbids ANY music that isnt “religious” or “in alignment with religious laws” because Music is the Language of the Soul, the Heart ❤️ just as Mathmatics are the Language of the Universe (kinda), and when you can get creative andbexpress that FREELY and share that with others, the Greatest Joys are shared, and ALL of Humanity and our Species is moved forward further than we were before.
